Changing herself into a satin pale violet red saree after a warm bath, she gradually headed towards the main hall when the steady humming sounds had hit her ears...surprised to see Anjali supervising the volunteers, who were decorating the mansion...a smile had passed over her lips when she noticed her guests...with a smile she took Aryan in her arms from Mrs. Bregenza on her way..."..Namastey Auntie..." she greeted the smart looking lady, flashing a warm smile...

As soon as her eyes fell on the sight of the young lady carrying a baby boy in her arms, Mrs.
Singh was amazed by the nature of her new daughter-in-law, as she quietly admired her with a smile...a perfect example of a desired daughter-in-law...although, she was already a proud mother of an adorable baby boy, the freshness of her smooth skin and the glow on her face were reflecting the image of a new bride...but her nature was something commendable, the innocent eyes were enough to express the purity of her soul...more than perfect, 100 on 10...

Satisfied with her examination, Mrs. Singh greeted back, "...Namastey Beta..." before quickly yet gently stopped Khushi from bending down to touch her feet...then placing a soft kiss on her cheek, she continued "...do I need to greet him with a kiss too???..." slightly pinching the little man's cheek, the lady innocently asked, before snuggling him into her arms..."...haww mom!!! don't do this to papa...he will be heart-broken..." after handing over the charge of supervision to one of the lead volunteers Anjali decided to join the family..."...so lemme do the honor for you..." unable to control herself, Anjali left a long kiss to his chubby cheek..."..There...I did it for you..." grinning at her mother-in-law, she notified...laughing at her daughter-in-law's acting, she appreciated her concerns before nuzzling her nose against Aryan's tiny cute nose, "...aww thanks hon..."...

'what's going on here???...who are they???...hey!!! how come they get to play with those cool lights and flowers and not me...no fair!!!' observing the decorators for quite a long time, the little man thought...after being transferred to the arms of his mommy, a disappointed Aryan nestled his head on mommy's shoulder while his forehead was rested against the curve of mommy's neck...but after being in the arms of the new fresh face, his mood automatically swung back to the playful mode as soon as his eyes fell on the stone glasses hanger necklace around Mrs. Singh's neck...

"Hey Arnav!!" called out Aman to inform him about the new project that they had recently won...kindly excusing himself from the lady circles, Arnav headed towards Aman, when the other ladies decided to move into the master bedroom for their chatting session...

"...Thank you auntie..." Anjali enthusiastically thanked Mrs. Bregenza as she placed some boxes on the bed..."...welcome hon...I have baked chocolate chip cookies for you...do you want them now??.." the caretaker lady sweetly informed her..."...yes yes yes please..." Anjali almost jumped off her seat, as this was the perfect solution of her immediate cravings at that very moment..."...I will just get it for you..." laughing at the young would-be mother's excitement, she replied..."...awww you are the best auntie...I love you..." like a child Anjali confessed before passing Aryan the extra-fine velboa caterpillar...

Touched by the motherly care of Mrs. Bregenza towards her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Singh smiled...as she turned towards a perplex looking Khushi, who was blankly staring at the boxes...then picking up the largest one among all the boxes, she passed it over to Khushi with a broad smile, "...here this one is for you..."...kindly accepting the package from her, Khushi tried to inquire, "...but why are..." inturrupting the young lady, Mrs. Singh clearly instructed, "...shushh!!!...this is for my daughter-in-law...so keep quiet like a good girl ok.."...she couldn't help but smiled at the motherly scold that she just received for the time in her life..."...that's like a good girl...and I want you to wear them for today's function..." she again commanded before grabbing the other boxes...

Then smiling at Khushi, Mrs. Singh admitted, "...aannnddd...all of these gifts belong to this little man, who had not even bothered to look at me...and I am offended..." crossing her arms like a child, the elderly woman pretended to be upset with her new 'boy'-friend, who was busy playing with his Ash auntie..."...awww it's okay mom...don't worry, once he gets to know about all these 'bribes' you got for him to get his attention, he would instantly fall in love with you..." winking at her friend, Anjali joked, causing all the ladies to share a good laugh...

In her laugh, she gently placed her hand on Khushi's...then controlling the mixed emotions, Mrs. Singh finally confessed, "...Thanks beta..."...instantly took Khushi by a surprise, while Anjali kept her gaze down with a half-smile as she knew what her mother like mother-in-law was talking about..."...for what auntie??..." asked a confused Khushi..."...for taking the decision of coming back to him...I heard everything from Anjali...I know you were bound to take that decision...but however it was, I am glad that you took this step..."...noticing her quietness, she continued after heaving a deep sigh, "...one more thing dear, Arnav never meant to hurt you...he always wanted your happiness...we all wanted to see you as a family...trust me Khushi, Arnav never meant to hurt your feelings intentionally but you were not ready to listen to anyone...and I don't blame you for that...I can totally understand what you might have gone through...perhaps that's why you were not even able to think straight hon...please don't misundersand Arnav..."

Touched by the motherly concerns, she smiled back, assuring the older lady to be relaxed, when she heard a familiar voice at the door..."...Khushi!!!..."...immediately turning back to see the visitor at the doorstep, Khushi couldn't control her emotions when she felt a warm drop of tear streamed down her cheek...

Noticing the girl at the middle of the decorated hall room, Arnav walked over to her with a smile..."...you got the file??..." he asked...handing him a blue file, Lavanya waited for his signature while trying to steal a glance of her boss's new bride...understanding her curiosity, Aranv controlled his smile before questionning her, "...looking for someone Ms. Kashap??..."...coming back to her sense, she stammered, "...huh!!...yes sir!?!...I mean no sir!!...sh*t...opss...sorry sir!!..." keeping her gaze down, she bit her lower lip, already feeling like an idiot...

Keeping his eyes on the file, he laughed, "...it's ok!!...she must be in the bedroom with Anjali and Singh auntie...you can go and meet her...she will be happy to see you..."...'...awesome!! ...good going La...you are a loser!!!...', she thought, feeling even more miserable as if she just got caught red-handed by her boss...'

"...no no!!...it's ok sir...ma'am must be busy...I will meet her in the evening..." she justified her restlessness...understanding her point of views, he again offered her, this time like a family member, "...it's ok Lavanya...you can meet her...", turning his head towards the stairs, he pointed out with the pen, "...you go straight up, first take a left turn, keep walking and you will see an aquarium, then take a right turn..." after explaining the direction, he turned back to her with a smile before dismissing her, "...ok then!! See ya in the evening..." handing back the file, Arnav quickly left the place to answer his cell-phone...

"...this is not her boss!!!..." she thought...holding the file like a life savior she followed the direction while still lost in her thoughts...she felt like a family...she had worked in 2 well-reputated companies before joining this one, and also attended such functions, BUT...never did she feel like a family...may be because she was treated like an employee only...she found her eyes filling up, four years after losing her family, she again got to experience such affection...

Following the voices of some ladies, she made her way to the room when she froze on the spot...as if the sky had chosen her head as the best landing spot...she couldn't do any calculation of her observation as the brain also decided to deceive her...shocked-surprised-confused-happy, in all those mixed emotions, the only word that came out of her mouth was, "...Khushi!!..." as the tears finally made it through her cheeks...
