CHAPTER XII

ASR looked at the intricate ear piece in Di's hand. His mind was visualizing the scenario that would have taken place on that fateful day at the farmhouse. She must have fought valiantly and would have found no alternative before resorting to plunging that knife into her stomach. And to top it all she had been pregnant. At the hospital, he had been furious with her. How alone must she have felt ' first of all being the victim and then blamed for a crime she had not even committed. And he, ASR, had taken vows to protect her, had let her down in the worst possible way. He should have been there at the hospital while she had been recovering. "Oh my! "He thought, he had not even returned the physician's call when Khushi had discharged herself against medical advice. But for now he had to deal with Di. He stomach was in turmoil. Di had a right to know about her husband's extra-curricular activities but at the same time, he did not know what would happen if the whole truth would come out. Was Di strong enough and resilient to weather this storm? Well he was going to find out. But before that he had to run an errand.

ASR: Di can we talk about it this evening. I have to attend to an urgent matter. It is about 11.30, I should be back by 2.30 this afternoon and we will talk, I mean really talk and resolve this issue once and for all.

Anjali: What, you think this is a joke? I came here for advice and you are just going to run.

ASR: Trust me Di, I am going out to resolve this issue.

Anjali: OK chote, I will wait for you till this evening. If nothing is resolved I will handle this myself.

ASR: You won't need to. Come I will drop you home.

Anjali: So your work is not that critical, if you have time to drop me home.

ASR: You are my priority Di.

ASR dropped his sister at home and started to drive to Khushi's house. He called Akaash en-route.

Akaash: Haan Bhai,

ASR: Main Khushi ke ghar jaa hoon. Jitni jaldi ho sake, tum yahan pahoncho. (I am on my to Khushi's house, meet me there ASAP)

Akaash: Laxminagar''''''''''''''..Teek hai bhai main aa raha hoon. ?(Laxminagar..., sure I am on my way)

ASR next called Aman.

ASR: Aman, arrange for an ambulance to come to my in-laws' house. Now!!!

Aman: Yes sir.

ASR then called Di's cell phone.

Anjali: Haan Chote'..

ASR: Di, aaj nahi abhi main Khushi ke family ko apne yahan shift karwa raha hoon till I find another alternative. Please aap arrangements kar dengi? (Di, I am moving Khushi's family to our place till I find another alternative, oh btw make it as moving them now. So please mae the arrangements)

ASR: Haan, haan, sure, aur main bilkul teek hoon. Ab kuch mat poonchna Di, bahut kaam hai di, abhi jaane do, nahi to ghar 2.30 ko nahi pohonch paaonga. (Yes, I am ok, I am terrific. I need to go now, have too many things to get done and reach home by 2.30 as promised. Bye for now, take care)

"Well all the pieces are in place for operation One", thought ASR as he drove towards Laxminagar. "Shyam Manohar Jha, this will evict you out of Shantivan for now immediately. You have made yourself very secure at my expense, in my house and with my family. Well it ends today and now. By the end of the day, guess what, you don't have a house'..sorry houses to rest your slimy rear. You fenced with the wrong person. I am going to hit you so hard, and that too in front of everyone and you will never see the blow coming. "

ASR reached Laxminagar and stepped onto the Gupta house porch. He rang the bell and it was answered by Payal.

Payal: Aaap!!!

Garima (from inside the house): Kaun hai Payaliya. (Who is at the door, Payaliya)

ASR gestured to Payal not to answer Garima.

Payal: Kuch nahi maa, woh Happy ji ko thoda paani chahiye tha. (Its just Happy from the garage to get some cold water)

Garima: Achcha (OK)

Payal: Kya baat hai, Khushi ke baare main hai kya''''''sab teek to hai na?? (What is it, is everything OK, ...is it about Khushi?)

ASR: Meri ek baat maniyega''.na mat kehna''..sochiye Khushi ke liye kar rahin hain ...''promise? (Please listen to me, and dont say no...think you are doing this for Khushi)

Payal: Lekin baath kya hai (But what is the matter)

ASR: Pehle promise kijiye, ki aap meri baath manengi. (You have to promise to agree to do what I say)

Payal: Promise

ASR: Main aap sabko lene aaya hoon. Aap, Amma, Babuji aur Buaji, sab Shanitvan mein abhi shift ho rahen hain. Aap apni zaroorat ka saaman band lijiye, main aapko lene aaya hoon aur lekar jaaonga. (I am here to take all of you to my place - pack all the stuff that you deem necessary)

Payal: Aap hosh mein hain. Hum sabko kya batayenge. Aur babuji ko kaisse le jayenge. (R U in your senses. What am I going to tell the family and btw how are you going to move Babuji?)

ASR: Woh meri responsibility. Chalein?? (That is my responsibility. Shall we start the process)

ASR turned to Payal and said: Chalein? (Well, shall we)

The three along with the orderlies stepped into the house and into the room where Babuji was kept. The orderlies brought the gurney in and moved Babuji onto it. Buaji and Garima had questions galore, but did not have the guts to ask ASR anything. Payal as instructed methodically packed her father's medication and the task was taken over by Akaash. Payal went on to pack essentials for all of them for a few days. Buaji and Garima cornered Payal in thekitchen. Payal said that she had promised ASR that they all will go with him.

Buaji: Hai re Nandakisore, hum apna ghar chod ke kahin nahi jayenge. Hum keh detein hain. Kaissi zabardasti hai yeh. Humre ghar mein aaike, seena taani. Dekhte hain kaisse utwate hain humko yahan se? (I am not going to leave my house. You think you can come into my house and give orders. Let me see how you get me out of here)

ASR: Aap chalengi ya'''? (Will you go or ...)

Buaji: Ya kya'''''''''''..Nahin jayenge, jo karna hai kar lo. (Or what...I said I wont go. Go fly kites)

ASR: Teek hai, phir baad main mat kehna aapko option nahi diya gaya. (Alright, then dont tell me that you were not given a choice)

Buaji: Kya karenge, humko utwaana itna asaan nahi hain. (Oh let me see what you will do...it is not so easy to get me out of this house)

ASR: Woh to mujhe bhi pata hai, issilye teen logon ko apne saath laya hoon. Aap khud chalengi ya main utvaaon. Akaash, dekhna agar babuji settle ho gayen to, dono orderly aur ambulance driver, teeno ko bulakar, buaji ko bhi gaadi mein rakhwa dena. (I knew it, so I brought enough ammunition with me. I am asking for the last time, R U going to walk on your own or I am going to have you carried into the vehicle. Akaash can you make sure Babuji has been settled in the van, and then get the two orderlies and the driver out of the van and ask them to get Buaji into the vehicle.)

Buaji: Hai re Nandakisore, khabardaar kissine hamein haath lagaya to. Hum chalte hain. (dont you dare ...I will leave with you)

In the midst of all the drama, Garima decided to follow instructions, assisted Payal in gathering and packing their day-to-day necessities. Three hours and four full bags later, the convoy comprising of an SUV, an ambulance and a car sped towards Shantivan. Leading the party was a very gleeful and contented ASR in his SUV. It was followed by the ambulance that contained six people, three from the hospital in the front and three from the Gupta family in the rear of the vehicle. The three members of the Gupta family found themselves in a very contemplative mood recollecting the surreal event of the day. The third car carried the Akaash and Payal. Akaash was so happy that he couldn't contain his joy. While Payal was more than confused, far more apprehensive but decided to enjoy Akaash's company for the rest of the ride.

yay me first!!... The update was amazing as always!! hmmm... so wht exactly is arnav bitwa trying to do?... why did he move all the Guptas to shantivan... is he gonna use them to give his jejaji the biggest shock of his life and expose him or is he protecting them..? loved the little arnav and buaji humor at the end though... ahaha it would be soo damn funny if three men carried buaji and put her in the car! lol thank you so much for the pm!! plzz plzz continue soon.. cant wait to find when and how exactly arnav confronts tht creep and when khushi and him reunite!!
