Chapter 93 – Dil ki Baat

Geet was giving her measurements for blouse but her thoughts were on entirely different matter. She came out of her world when Pinky literally shook her like a leaf. "Oye…kahan khoyi hui hai tu….kabse they are asking you for your ideas on neck designs and you are not answering"

Geet was flustered – "nahin Pinky aisi koi baat nahin hai"

Pinky took a bite from the apple she was holding – "Oye hoye….Maan ke bare mein soch rahi hai….soch soch…lekin lehnge ki fitting aur blouse designs ke baad haan"

Geet just smiled but Annie did not miss that it did not reach her bhabhi's eyes. She asked the designers to leave them alone for a moment.

Annie – "Kya baat hai Bhabhi….aap kya soch rahe ho….koi problem hai"

Geet smiled again – "Nahin Annie aisi koi baat nahin…main to bas….chalo jaldi se kam khatam karte hain"

As Geet moved to the door to call designers again, Annie held her hand. "Jhoot mat bolo Bhabhi….aap pareshaan ho….humein bhi nahi bataogo"

Pinky also came closer – "Oye kya hua…tu kahin morning wali baat to nahin soch rahi hai yaar….I told you na Maan ne sab handle kar liya aur woh stupid doctor ko suspend bhi kar diya hai"

Annie looked enquiringly at Pinky. "Woh Annie…wahi doctor jisne kal Geet ko upset kiya tha na…usse suspend kar diya hai"

Annie relaxed – "Chalo acha hua…she deserves it…aur Bhabhi aap bhi na….seriously….now don't start worrying about her….aur kal ke bare mein bhi sochne ki koi zaroorat nahin hai….just forget everything and enjoy"

Geet just nodded and tried her best to get involved in the blouse designs. But her heart was still not convinced and was still paining.

After the design session, Geet left boutique to go to office. But she could not concentrate on files. She sighed – "Babaji….yeh maine kya kiya….please ab main kya karoon….I can't just forget about the whole thing…Meri wajah se yeh sab hua hai….I want to tell Maan everything I am feeling….mujhe kuch to karna hoga"

Geet decided and called Raj.

Geet – "Papa…woh aaj thoda der hoga ghar aane mein"

Raj – "Kyon kya hua….office ka kam Rahul dekh lega beta"

Geet hesitated – "Nahin Papa…woh baat nahi hai…woh actually mujhe Maan se kuch zaroori kaam tha…woh kal ki baat ko leke…so"

Raj understood her daughter's unsaid word. He knew her very well – "Thik hai Geet...waise bhi agar tu Maan ke saath hai to mujhe koi worry nahi hai….you guys have fun"

Geet sighed and called Maan next.

Maan – "Hello Mishti….main tumhein call karne hi wala tha…how was your day….how did the fitting go….ab tumhaari tabiyat thik hai na"

Geet smiled at his list of questions – "Calm down Maan…main bilkul thik hoon….fitting went well and I finalized everything…..thankfully now no more clothes shopping at least"

Maan smiled. His Geet was one masterpiece who had no patience when it came to shopping. "Hmmm"

Geet – "Waise I have called you to ask for a help….woh meri car service ke liye gayi hai…so can you pick me up today"

Maan spoke mischievously – "Achaji….Car gayi hai ya tumne bheji hai…waise main bhi tumhaare saath time bitane ke liye taras gaya hoon…yeh wedding ki wajah se hum dono kitne busy ho gaye hain aaj kal…I will surely pick you up around 7:30"

7:30 PM

Maan was very confused when Geet insisted on driving after he came to pick her up. His confusion increased further when he realized they were not going home.

Maan nuzzled closer to Geet and almost whispered – "Irada kya hai memsahib….kahan le jaa rahi ho"

Geet smiled at his naughtiness – "surprise hai Jaan….is liye chup chaap baithe rahiye"

Maan obediently put finger on his lips and looked at her adoringly.

Geet smiled at his antics and tried hard to concentrate on driving.

After few minutes they reached at a restaurant on the outskirts. Geet parked the car and answered at Maan's quizzical gaze – "Woh…..woh…aap andar chaliye…main bas ek minute mein aati hoon"

Geet looked at Maan who still looked at her with same expression and hadn't moved an inch. Geet again said – "Jaiye na….dekhiye maine kuch plan kiya hai….kuch kehna tha aapse…ab aap mujhe nervous mat kijiye….andar jaayie…I will be with you in 5 minutes…promise"

Maan breathed out in resignation not understanding her intentions. But still moved and started walking inside the restaurant. As he entered he noticed that the entire floor was cleared away. There was only one table in the centre. Red curtains flowed in the wind and whole place was lighted by small scented candles. It was quite simple but still very soft and romantic. He moved towards the table which had a single white rose placed by a chocolate cake. Maan noticed the words on the cake– "SORRY"

Now Maan was more confused and turned around. He was startled seeing his angel sitting on the ground on her knees with both her hands on her ears. Maan was concerned and hurriedly moved towards her making her stand – "Yeh sab kya hai Geet aur tum mujhe sorry kyon…."

Geet placed her finger on his lips making him quiet. Tears shimmered in her eyes and her vice was choking with emotions – "Bol lene lijiye Maan….mat rokiya mujhe"

"I am sorry….aap nahi jaante mujhe kitna bura lag raha hai….waise bhi mera guilt aur bhi bad gaya hai jabse mujhe hospital mein jo hua woh pata chala hai"

Mann shook his head in denial but Geet continued

"Nahin Maan….mujhse galti hui hai….meri wajah se sab ke saamne aapko explanations dene pade….mujhe agar aapse shikayat thi….even if I had any issue…I should have come and discussed with you first…aapse akele mein baat karni cahiye thi…is tarah sab ke same aapko maine…."

Maan could not control himself – "Please Geet….tum aisa kyon keh rahi ho….kyon soch rahi ho….waise bhi kal sab humaare apne hi the…..it was just family and today morning I handled everything….that girl got the punishment she deserved….acha hi hua kyonki main to bas use daantne wala tha but she got what she deserved"
