PART 31

32.HER KNIGHT

Like any knight who would wish to have a glimpse of his fair maiden after fighting the battle for her, Maan too decided to return home early. The wound throbbed, a happy reminder that he was able to put that monster behind the bars. But he didn't trust him to stay put because Maan was sure Brij had someone to help him. but now that he was able to trap him, it should be easy to keep an eye on him.

Maan wondered if he should tell Geet about the incident. It was his wish to keep her away from all worries but Geet would surely know about it once she came back to the office. So it was better that she heard it from him.

He reached the room without coming across Daadi or Geet for which he was grateful. It looked worse than it really was. His shirt was ruined, so was his waistcoat. The knife had cut him near his collarbone, making the movement of his right arm a bit painful. Geet was waiting for him when he came out of the washroom sans his shirt and vest. The smile of welcome turned into alarm. She moved towards him, "Maan you are hurt!"

"It's nothing just a nick" he tried to sooth.

""But you are bleeding"

"Must have disturbed the wound while I changed. "I'll just..."

"No...let me see..." Geet gently pushed him to sit on the bed and brought the medicine box. She removed the old dressing that was in place. Tears filled her eyes as she saw his wound.

"How did you get hurt?" she asked as she wiped the area softly. He flinched trying to distract her from demanding an answer then because he wanted her more calm when he told her. Tears slipped down her cheeks.

"I'm sorry! Does it hurt much?"

she bend down to blow on the wound while she applied medicine. He lifted her chin with his left hand, drawing her eyes to his.

"I'm okay sweetheart..." he wiped her cheek with his hand. "Don't cry."

Geet shook her head, tring to control herself. "I don't like to see you hurt." She said brokenly, while she finished her ministration.

"I don't like to see you cry." Maan answered back as he pulled her into his lap. Fighting the discomfort, he lifted his right arm to cup her cheek. "Promise me you wont upset yourself with what I'm about to tell u."

She could only nod, being suddenly conscious of being so close to his naked upper torso.

"He came to see me today." He felt her body stiffen and recognized the realization that came into her eyes. Pain and guilt clouded her eyes again as she placed a careful hand on the dressing.

"He attacked u..." her voice broke.

"Only because I let him...I wanted him to..."

"Why?" the pain and the question so intense.

"Why? Why did he come?" Maan smirked. "To give me the permission to keep my wife with me until The Khurana heir is born." His eyes turned back to her. "Why? Why did I let him attack me? " his voice throbbed with menace, "...because I wanted to make him pay ...pay for what he did to u..." he shifted his eyes away "...i wanted to tear him apart limb by limb making him scream in agony..."

"Maan..." her whisper brought his eyes back to her. Calming himself so as not to scare her with the violence he felt, he continued, " I wanted to punish him for frightening you again...for even thinking that he could barge into your life again..." he smoothed her hair back."So I let him attack me with witness ...and now he is back in jail." He slid his hand down to cares her cheek. "I wont let him breathe even the air near you...You are pre..."

"Maan beta," Daadi barged in. "...Nakul said you were hurt!"

on seeing Daadi, Geet got off Maan's lap in a flash and moved away embarrassed.

"woh...Daadi...Geet was..."

"I can see my beti is taking good care of you..." Daadi gave a naughty smile.

"The coffee is cold...I'll bring you another..." Geet made a fast retreat from the room.

i knw i knw a very short scene...but this is all i cud get ready😳...will add some more tomorrow night, hopefully..so i will send the Pms together...but hoping this sweet scene will keep u buddies happy until then... consider this an extended teaser😆...so how did u like my teaser😉

i think u may get confused with the chain of incidents...so the marriage though happened before the brij encounter was given in a flashback...that is chapters 28- 31 happen before parts 26 nd 27...in the story
