Maan got a reminder from his phone that he had a vide chat meeting with one of the clients. He got fresh and after having dinner, logged into his yahoo ID half hour early than time for the meeting. He was hoping Geet would be online. Geet had been online from her cell for the last two hours. Just when she had retired to her room, she had came online from her laptop but was idle. Listening to music, she had fell asleep leaving the laptop screen on. Since the player wasn't on repeat, it got silent once the song finished played.

Maan saw a yellowish orange light next to Geet's name but didn't know that she was idle. He typed in a fresh mood, "Hey Geet! What a surprise. You're online at this time?" (Ok, so it wasn't that late, but we can't expect everyone to be up at this late of a night. Right?)

Geet was fast asleep. As she didn't know about the message that popped up on her screen, how was she going to reply?! Maan waited for her reply. When he got no reply, he buzzed her and kept on sending her messages like, 'Hey!' 'Hello???' 'You there?' Geet?' and so on.

It was all useless. She keep on hearing beeping sounds once in a while since she wasn't in that deep of a sleep. Ignoring it and turning sides in bed, she would snuggle back to sleep. Maan got an idea after no reply for 15 minutes.

He looked at the 'Call' button on the screen. A big grin came on his face and he clicked on it. No reply. The sound made Geet angry and she turned yet again and switched sides. Maan wasn't going to give up on it just yet. He didn't call once, twice, but around five times.

On the sixth time, Geet's slumber sleep was finally broken and thinking it was her cell, she patted around her pillow trying to locate her cell. Opening one eye, she saw that the screen was pitch black and the voice wasn't her cell. Looking around, she could see nothing that would make the noise. Not her cell and the alarm clock wasn't ringing either. Her i-pod was off and it wasn't a silly ring tone in there playing either. Her eyes fell on the laptop and saw the screen was on. She walked up to it throwing the covers away and saw messages from Maan and realized it was him calling. All the while, the faint beeping sounds she kept on hearing were of Maan's messages.

Before thinking she accepted the call and her heart beat raised. Maan didn't see this as at the same time he looked at the clock which read 11:20 p.m. He remembered that now she wasn't in India but in US and the time would be same. If not in same time zone, then also time difference would be only 2-3 hours different.

He thought to himself, "She would be sleeping by now. Even if the time differed by couple of hours, she would be tired from the long journey!"

Taking the laptop to the bed, she placed it on her thighs and typed back, "Hi MK." (Geet's nick name for Maan) Maan spoke out loud and not in his mind after seeing her respond, "Damn! " He had disturbed her.

Geet smiled hearing his voice. She felt content. Her heart was beating fast but still, she was happy to hear his voice in spite of the fast that he was mad and had just cursed. She asked, 'Why are you mad, MK? What happened?"

Maan said out loud again, "How did she know I am angry?" Geet heard this too. She let out a low laugh making sure he wouldn't hear it. She replied, "Duffer, I can hear you."

He wrote confused, 'How?"

Geet wrote, "Stupid, look up. You called me and I accepted it. I am able to hear everything you are saying."

He stared at the call for few seconds and realized she was right. He started laughing out loud. Geet heard it and could make out that He was laughing freely after what seems like a long time. Geet smiled while he said, "I am so sorry for waking you up from sleep Geet."

He had this accent in him that was hard to describe. After all he has been staying abroad for a long time and doesn't speak much of Hindi. Geet liked the way he said her name. 'It's okay. I didn't mind MK. What are you doing still awake?"

"Oh. Nothing. Couldn't go to sleep." He lied to her and she caught it.

She replied back writing, "You don't have to lie MK."

He wondered how she knew but said, "I have to go."

Geet: "You have a meeting right?"

Maan: "How do you know."

Geet: "A man like you would only be up this late if not for a meeting. And you had told me last time we talked that you had a meeting today."

Maan was surprised, "You remember?"

Geet: "Of course. So when is it?"

Maan: "How sweet! In few minutes. It's a video chat meeting."

Geet: "Okay." She saw the call was still on. She smiled cutting it and also feeling happy to have heard his voice.

Maan: So, should I go?"

Geet wrote in a teasing manner, "If I say no will you say?" Maan didn't want to think about this. He would never miss a meeting for anybody. She was an exception. He wrote, "I might."

Geet wrote fast before he took it seriously, "No need. You go and all the best."

Maan knew he wouldn't stay back for anybody. He wrote, "S**T. You didn't' give me a reason that I was looking for to stay and not go."

Geet: "No I didn't. Now go."

Maan: "I will. So where are you staying?"

"We're in New York."

Maan's heart did a somersault. "Are you serious??"

Geet wrote confused, "Yes. Why?"

Maan: "Wow! I'm in New York too!"

Geet's heart did the same after learning this. "Oh! You should know New York is big. Right?"

Maan: "I do know. Who knows, we might bump into each other and not even know."

Geet: "That would be less likely. But tabki tab dekhenge."

Maan: "Huh?"

Geet: "You need to learn Hindi! I said, We'll see when that does happen."

Maan: "Hey, not my fault I don't know it that well. Yea we surely will."

Geet: "Who's fault is it then?"

"I don't know. Ok, how about you teach me little every now and then?"

"I'm a bad teacher. You should know that."

"At least better than me in Hindi. So it works."

"True. Well, I'll think about it. For now, you're getting late."

"Why don't you say it clearly that you don't want to chat with me?" He didn't mean it literally.

"Nice try. But you have to leave."

"Come on!"

"Not going to work MK." He was actually pleading in front of her. She was bringing out the side of him that no one had ever brought out.

"Okay fine. Bye. Good night."

"Bye . All the best."

"Thanks. Bye."

"Now go."

"You go first."

'No you go MK."

"You, Geet."

Geet wrote: 'Fine stubborn. Bye."

With this Geet got invisible while Maan was unaware and was feeling happy with the victory.

'If you are stubborn I am maha stubborn." said Geet. Then she saw Maan go offline. Smiling to herself, she signed off too and switched off the laptop and went to sleep with a happy smile on her face.

In Pari's room.

She was grinning to herself while unpacking her clothes. She conversation she had just had with her newly made friends was giving her the best vibes. She could just see the new phase of life both her and Geet were about to enter.

#### Flashback ####

Emma: "But what do we do."

Dan: "That's what we have to think about sweetie." He said it in a taunting voice. Emma made a face that none of them could clearly see when they were miles apart from each other.

There was silence for a while when Vicky spoke up, "I know!" He narrated the plan over the phone while the girls said at same time, "No way Vicky!"

"But why not?" He whined.

Emma: "Vick, We said no. And that's how it's going to be. No more arguments."

"Fine." He groaned and all got back to thinking. Pari's light bulb turns on and she says, "I have just the perfect thing. Listen'" She told them the plan in an enthusiastic voice and as she revealed it, their faces turned into and big grin.

Dan: "Awesome man. It's perfect."

Vicky: "Yes. It can work out perfectly. There will be no doubts either!"

Emma: "True. You can think that the plan's already in action."

Pari with others: "Huh?"

Emma bit her tongue, "Umm' Guys, I forgot to mention this to you. This morning, I got a call from dadi."

Vicky: "WHAT?"

Emma: "Yea. And she said she'll be here tomorrow."

Dan murmured, "You're go gone Emma."

Vicky: "And you tell us now?"

Emma: "Hey, I'm sorry. I was just acting over on Ana dropping in out of no-where that I forgot to tell."

Pari: "Guys, care to fill me in?"

Vicky: "Oh, Sorry Pari. Maan's dadi lives in India. According to the news, she's coming here tomorrow and just like always, she's going to try to persuade Maan to move into the big villa that's under his name and not live in the small apartment type house.

Pari: "Wow! That's perfect than. It just goes along with our plan."

Dan: "It does. But there's just one teeny tiny problem."

Pari: "Which is?"

Emma: "Maan doesn't know she's coming."

Vicky continues, "And when he does find out, he's going to act all mad though he'll be happy to see her."

Pari: "Why?"

"Because he doesn't want to live the life of a luxury and prefers to stay underground."

Pari: "Wow! Just like Geet!"

All: "Huh?" It's now Pari's turn to bite her lips. "Nothing. I mean that's even better. What's a plan that doesn't have any problems. It'll be fun to persuade him. Come on. Every plan can't be full-proof and easy."

Dan: "You're saying as if you're an expert in such things."

Pari: "Oh, you have no idea. I'll have to tell all about it to you all some time. For now, it's settled then?"

Emma: "You bet!"

Vicky: "Ya. We're in. See you tomorrow."

Vicky and Dan left the conversation while Emma didn't. She continued, "You sure it'll work. Right?"

"It has to. Don't worry."

"Hmm! And what do you mean when you said 'Just like Geet?'"

Pari: "I never said that." Trying to cover up her tracks of mistake.

Emma: "Don't lie Pari. Boys might have missed it but I sure didn't. Tell me."

Pari: "Emma, as much as I'd like to, this is something that needs to stay hidden. At least for a while. When right time comes, I promise to tell you first. Besides, it's not mine, but Geet's story to tell."

Emma was satisfied with what Pari told her. "It's alright. At least you're being honest. I'll wait for that moment then. Good night."

Pari: "Thanks. Good night."

They ended the call. What needed to stay hidden for a while was the Geet was now the owner of Handa Companies and for her security, it was necessary. Also, she preferred not to let it out in public and work behind the scenes.
