Deewani, Maneet ki Deewani!

Why is it that I can feel Maneet's anguish and pain but not the love between other fictional couples on TV? I started watching some other shows and do not empathize with them when they portray their love for each other. It all seems so fake. I know it's an oxymoron statement since they are all fictional characters and they are pretending.

Maan and Geet bring something on screen that touches my heart. I cry when they cry, I laugh when they laugh. Why do Geet and Maan have this pull, this hold on us?
