Hey Everyone.
Well.. I didnt expect to come back so fast. So it is sort of awkward because I thought I wouldnt be able to come back. but I came back. Its all actually because of 2 months of no strain on my eyes... (except studying ofcourse) and I missed India Forums so much that I just couldn't stay away! This place is like my second home. I have made some awesome friends here.!
Well.. besides all my rubbish talking, I hope you'll still remember that I used to write FFs and only my User-ID has changed and not me! LOL, that did NOT make sense!] and as crazy as I am, I am continuing my FFs and will write some OS' too.
Anyway, so now for those who have forgotten the story of my favourite FF,
Here is an update / recap / the story proceeds!
The new morning brought with itself, new feelings. Morning was different and so was Gunjan. Today she woke up before Samrat. Today was his birthday! but Samrat hadn't got up yet. She sat on the armchair and looked at him, sleeping. The 2 months of their wedding had been rather an irregular and rocky path for them but Samrat had stood rock solid next to her. He had made her forget all her pain and grief and had taken care of her all along. Last night had been like a dream. Samrat singing for her as she stood there in tears. Samrat "apparently" expressing his feeling to her and she crying listening to all those priceless words. What else did they have to say? Life had taken a new turn for them and Gunjan quickly prayed to god to make this twist a successful one. She wanted to make him happy and to take care of him as he had always done. But should she tell Samrat about her feelings?! "Sameera!" she whispered. She picked up her phone and dialled the memorised number.
"Hello" a lousy voice said from the other end. "Sameera? Is that you?" Gunjan replied! "Yes. Is everything alright? What was so urgent!" Sameera said sounding worried all of a sudden. "I love Samrat!" she blurted out! "Happy realisation day, Gunjan." She said sleepily. "is that why you called at 6 in the morning?" "Oh! Sorry." Gunjan said looking at her watch. It was so silly of her to have called without even looking at the watch. "but I wanted to ask you whether I should tell him or wait until he says it?" Gunjan asked confused. She had walked out of the room in case samrat woke up and heard her. THAT would be weird. "Why? What do you want to wait for? Christmas?" Sameera said in her sleepy voice again. "But what if he doesn't love me?" Gunjan asked. "Oh god! If he didn't love you why would he have you in front of him now? Why did he not throw you out after the Neil incident? Why would he fight neil for you? Are you really that blind Gunjan?" Sameera said. "Ohk.. you're sure I should tell him na?" Gunjan asked again. "No. Sit and wait until you grow old and are dying.. then tell him.. Samrat I have loved you for years!" Sameera said sarcastically. "Sameera! Stop this sarcasm please. This is serious!!" "Ok fine. If your nervous to tell him, make him confess to you! Indicate him through gestures that you want to hear it from him first!" "That would be awkward!" Gunjan said cutting in. "Will you listen? I have experience! Just do as I say! And now let me sleep!" she said. "yeah.. bye!" Gunjan said as she went to the bathroom to get dressed. Today was indeed special for Samrat and she wanted to make it extra-special for him!
When she came out of the bathroom, Samrat was not in the room. She went downstairs and saw him talking on the landline. "Thank you so much!... Thanks... Thanks alot Mamaji!" "Happy Birthday Samrat" Gunjan said as Samrat kept the phone and looked at her. She walked up to him and thinking of what Sameera had told her she very awkwardly hugged Samrat. Samrat's eyes widened and he looked as if in shock. Gunjan realising the awkwardness broke the hug and asked him to freshen up and come for breakfast. Without saying a word he left. Gunjan wanted to go run and hide. She was so stupid. This wouldn't work! How could she try to make Samrat confess? What if he didn't really love her? What if he had done everything just because he was a genuinely nice person!
Breakfast was not as awkward as Gunjan had imagined. They talked about the party in the evening and Gunjan excitedly told him how it would be alot of fun. After breakfast Samrat was busy with phone calls from everyone and Gunjan got bored. So she decided to take out their clothes. She had bought a new pair of suit for Samrat and she would wear one of the many Sarees she had. She didn't tell Samrat that she had done all the decorations because she wanted to see his expressions when he saw it! She had absolutely no work and she felt jobless staring at Samrat talking to one of his clients. As he disconnected the call he told Gunjan, "Remember the tender I have been working on, for so many weeks?" Gunjan nodded immediately thinking 'not again..' "The main meeting is in Lonavala and there in front of all the participating companies the name of the tender-winning-company will be announced! This is a very big project and I am positive that we should get this one!" "Ofcourse you will, you have worked day and night on this one. Sat and done all the work yourself. You will surely get it!" Gunjan encouraged him. "So I just wanted to ask.. I mean only if you wanted you.. umm.. do you... I mean would you want to come to' "Yes! I will come with you to Lonavala" she said before he completed his sentence. Samrat smiled and then they talked about the project for some more time. At the back of Gunjan's mind she kept thinking about how she would confess or try and make him confess to her but in vain.. she was absolutely clueless about everything... but she still listened to samrat because it was the first time he was actually excited about something and was talking continuously.!!
Time flew really quickly and even before they realised, it was time for the party. Gunjan showed Samrat his suit and he actually loved it. Thats because this time Gunjan chose the suit which Samrat would be comfortable to wear and a colour that he would like! Gunjan was very happy to know that her small gift had brought a smile on his face. Samrat was really dear to Gunjan.. even though she had taken alot of time to realise and understand her feelings now she knew and she was happy that she got someone like Samrat. He was truly the KING.. king of her heart and the king of her world. Getting dressed didnt take both of them more than 15 minutes. They dressed simply and looked so perfect together. Gunjan wore a cream/off-white saree and wore a beautiful necklace with it. Samrat looked like a gentlemen ( very handsome ofcourse ) in his new suit and shoes. They didnt find words to compliment each other so they just continued with their silence talk. Samrat in his mind praised Gunjan and she did the same, becoming very conscious in front of Samrat.
They arrived at The Taj. Samrat didnt have even one fourth of the excitement Gunjan had. She loved parties and dancing and everything about it. Samrat offered his hand to Gunjan, it was awkward but he gathered all the courage to do it. She readily accepted it and they walked in hand in hand. Samrat just wanted to see Gunjan happy, Thats all! He didnt really care about the parties. Gunjan's heart was overwhelmed with joy. Samrat's hands felt warm in hers and none of them wanted to leave each others hands. They walked into the hall together. Gunjan couldn't take her eyes off Samrat. His charm had reached out to her, He had a smile on his face and he walked in his usual stylish way which drew the attention of several girls who were disappointed to see Gunjan by him. But Gunjan didnt care, she just looked at him and enjoyed his expressions.
They were both greeted by a warm welcome hug by mamiji. She gave Samrat a kiss on his forehead and complimented gunjan on her stylish decorations. Samrat was very impressed by Gunjan's arrangements. "Mamiji thank you so much for this party!" samrat exclaimed. She thought himself to be so lucky to have got such loving relatives. Mamaji also came and wished Samrat. Gunjan barely even knew Mamaji. "you're always welcome dear" mamiji replied. "So have all the guests come?" samrat asked. "Most have. Some are still on their way!" mamiji said. Samrat and Gunjan went ahead and were greeted by all the guests. Most of them complimented Samrat on his suit and he told everyone that "Its Gunjan's Choice!" Gunjan's smiled didnt once die out and she loved the way samrat praised her in front of his colleagues and guests. Gunjan was humble and spoke very sweetly to everyone. She was glad that she was there with Samrat. He discussed his Tender project with some colleagues also.. and some of his opponents who were also taking part. 'Samrat is actually very excited about this project. He is so keen on talking about this all day long! I really pray that he gets this one!' Gunjan thought. They continued meeting people and by now Gunjan remembered quite a bit of the people they were meeting. Obviously it was difficult to remember everyone but she remembered the ones who were important. Till this day Gunjan did not know who Samrat's Secretary was, Saisha Shah was her name. She handled most of Samrat's work and meeting schedule. Gunjan was talking to Saisha when Mamiji called her and Samrat. They both were immediately present and Mamiji said, "Samrat have you met him? This gentleman is also participating in the US Tender. He seems pretty esteemed in his work." Samrats smile slowly faded away to see Neil's smiling face. Gunjan was annoyed too. Why couldnt Neil leave them alone. How many times would she have to tell him that she no longer wanted to be with him! She knew it wasn't his fault in all this.. but whatever happened between them was over. It was over the day Neil thought of having revenge on Gunjan, it was over the day he agreed to marry Gunjan for money. It was all over. Samrat didnt want to create a scene in front of Mamiji so he just shook hands with Neil. "Happy Birthday Mr.Shergill" Neil said. "Hello.. Mrs.Shergill" Neil offered his hand towards Gunjan. Gunjan looked at Samrat and then at Neil and then at mamiji. She extended her hands and shook it but withdrew it really fast. Neil smirked at her. Mamiji went away to meet her friend. To remove the awkwardness from the situation Neil started a conversation, "So, ready to see the tender go away from your hands?" "Huh. We will see that, won't we?" Samrat said. Without saying anything Samrat walked towards the other guests. Gunjan was upset seeing Samrat so upset, she didnt want to hurt Samrat in anyway. She wanted to see him happy, always and forever! "Neil, I need to talk." Gunjan said. "Yeah sure, anytime!" Neil Said.
They walked to a corner. Gunjan didn't realise that Samrat's eyes were fixed on her. "Neil what are you doing?" Gunjan asked. "Now what have I done?" Neil replied shocked. "After everything that happened between us, did you really need to come here today?" "I was invited Gunj- Mrs.Shergill" "I dont care! You need to leave me alone!" "Wait. Listen Gunjan. You need to get over all this." "Fine. Go." Gunjan started walking away. "Gunjan, how much will you lie to yourself?" "What?" Gunjan stopped and turned around. "You still like me right? I know our relationship is very strong. Its not so easy to forget everything is it?" "See Neil. I knew you would come down to this again. Thats why I wanted to tell you that please get it through your mind that I and you.. its not possible! I am married to Samrat and I am very happy in my life. Leave us alone. This would mean alot Neil.. Please just.. leave me .. alone" Gunjan knew that neil would feel bad at first. She knew him pretty well.. but she couldnt help it. She had to tell him that she didnt want to see him again and again. Not because it bothered her. But because it bothered Samrat. How would Gunjan make Samrat believed that she actually loved him if she and neil kept crossing paths and he kept trying to woo her again! "Ok Gunjan. Lets see for how long? If you think you dont love me. Fine. Dont. I wont come in your way. But how long will you run away from the truth? How long will you take. You can never love Samrat Thats why you havent even let him..'"not another word Neil. Shut Up. And please leave." Gunjan was angry very angry. How dare he. How dare he. How could he comment on Samrat and Gunjan's relationship like that. Neil without saying another word stomped out leaving a bewildered gunjan standing there.
Gunjan walked up to Samrat who was trying not to keep looking at Neil and gunjan. He saw Neil go out and wondered what the two were talking about. When gunjan joined Samrat she had a smile on her face. Gunjan thought Samrat would ask for an explanation but he didn't. He didnt even look at Gunjan. Gunjan felt guilty for talking to Neil. She thought maybe Samrat still believed that Gunjan loved Neil. When the person Samrat was talking to excused himself and left Gunjan tried to tell Samrat about Neil, "I went to talk to Neil.. I umm actua'"Come Samrat its time to cut the cake" Mamiji said. Gunjan looked away and Samrat walked on behind mamiji looking back to see if Gunjan was following him. He wanted Gunjan by his side but he was still upset about why Gunjan spoke to Neil. He had complications in his heart and he wanted to hear it from Gunjan. He wanted the truth. He didnt want to be confused any longer. He was tired of Neil.
He blew the candles and wished for Gunjan's happiness and asked god to clear his doubts. All of them. If Gunjan loved Neil she should be with him and he shouldn't be between them. Not when Gunjan's happiness lies with neil! He cut the cake and fed Mamiji first and then turned to Gunjan. Gunjan ate the cake and then fed him a small piece too. Samrat was surprised at first but he was still happy that atleast Gunjan thought of it. His eyes never left Gunjan.
After the Cake cutting ceremony Mamiji announced that all couples should dance and especially Samrat and Gunjan. Everyone went to the dance floor. Samrat was hesitant to ask Gunjan. He was still in his world deciding whether Gunjan could still be in love with Neil or not! But that day she had plainly told him that she wanted to stay with Samrat. Then why would she go talk to him today! Gunjan didnt know whether she should ask Samrat. She was scared. Scared to say a word. She wanted to explain but before she could say anything Mamiji put Gunjan's hand in Samrat's and sent them to dance together.!! Samrat's hold over Gunjan was not as firm as it used to be. He had let her loose. "Samrat, I want to tell you that'"Gunjan it is ok. I understand that its not easy for you to see Neil every now and then. So you dont need to explain." But he wanted her to explain. He wanted to know. But his mind told him to control. Maybe if it was something he didnt want to hear then he may not be able to control his feelings. It would be very tough for him. Gunjan looked away. She didnt know how to make Samrat believe that she didnt care. Not even a single bit! They just moved slowly on the dance floor. Both thinking about what to do next.
Towards the end of the party Mamiji called Gunjan. "Why is Samrat's mood so off? Did something happen between the two of you?!" "um.. no.. no.. Mamiji.. I think maybe he is hungry." Gunjan said looking away. She knew why he was upset.. but she was scared to admit it. "Look Gunjan, I dont know what you two are upto but he really likes you.." she said casually. Gunjan said "hmm" and then suddenly realising what Mamiji had just said her eyes widened and her hearts joy had no bounds. She felt like screaming. "What?.." she said. Seeing Mamiji's confused face she said, "yeah ofcourse. And mamiji dont worry I will go talk to Samrat about this!" she said and with a huge smile on her face she went to speak with Samrat... :D She kept thinking of Mamiji's words. He likes you. Likes or Loves or what? She wanted to hear it from him.. Atleats she got a hint of his emotions.. now the rest she could handle.. for the first time Gunjan felt like hugging Mamiji! Now gunjan could make Samrat confess..
