Next morning Geet woke up as she felt his touch missing around her. She quietly got up and realised that he was not in the room. She thanked her stars,for she could not think of facing him in such a situation.Later Geet got ready and went outside. She lukd around for Maan.
Pammi: kyu Geet? Kisko dekh rhe he?
Geet : nhe bhabi bas aise hi.
Pammi: sab janti hu. Tere 'wo' to subah subah bahar chale gaye jogging ke liye.
Geet smiled thinking about the typical Maan Singh Khurana routine. Well he would follow it even if he is in Mars,thot she.
Pammi : kya soch rhe he?
Geet: nhe kuch nhe. Wo Maan wapas akey blackcoffe mangenge. Me kitchen me jati hu.
Pammi:chal,waise Taiji aj tere pasand ki methi ki parathe bana rhi he.
Geet forced a smile. She didn't even remember a time in her life when she liked that.
A voice broke her thots,'par Geet ko gobhi ke parathe ache lagte he'
Pammi : badi kismatwali he tu Geet. Maanji ko tumhari har pasand malum he.
That was a news to Geet herself.When did he know so much about her??
In the breakfast table Maan found that his favours were returned as continental cuisine by Geet Handa.
He whispered,' Geet,u don't have Uncle- Sam's restaurant here. Then how did u manage?
She frowned.
Geet:to? me nhe bana sakti?
Maan: hmm..but this is too..good.
She don't know why but she blushed with his comment.
Little by little, Geet and Maan realised how well they knew each other. Whether it be his coffee timings,her allergy to silver jewellery,his dislike of over-interference by her family or her wanting to have him around all the time,they silently did everything for each other.They didn't talk much,but they understood that their journey of life can't be smoother with any one else in their life. This fear for lack of intimacy is what that drifted her away from him. She realised how foolish she was to think like that.The fact is that they were aware of the smallest needs of each other so much that it became a part of their life.It didn't seem obivous to them at that time.
Thankfully Pammi's kids were so fond of Maan and Geet that they demanded to sleep with them. This avoided the awkwardness of sleeping alone in the room for the next 3 days.
Finally the fifth day of puja arrived.
Geet got ready in her traditional clothes and Maan in a white kurta.
Taiji came to their room.
Taiji: Geet,tum log sheher se ho,damatji bade ghar ke he.Ye sab to theek he.Hum jante he ki apke yeha wo paper me sign karke shadi kar lete he.Lekin ye to HP he. Yeha log batein karne lagenge..
Geet : ap kehna kya chahti he taiji?
Taiji: wo..agar damaatji tere maang me ye sindur bhar de to..
Both Maan and Geet were shocked.They never thot of this coming. Taiji requested Maan to fill the sindur from the box in her hand. Maan lukd at Geet puzzled as if seeking her permission.She nodded lightly which was more than enough for him.He filled her mang with the sacred dark red sindur changing all the definitions of their relation.A commitment from which they can't ever back up.
Taiji left them alone.Geet was about to follow her when Maan held her by wrist.
He pulled her to him and she fell on his chest. She raised her chin to meet his eyes.
Maan: Don't think u will get over with this Geet Maan Khurana! U still have to confess your love..i am waiting!
Geet was lost in his eyes and how could Maan escape from drowning in her soulful eyes.They stood there in a trance until Pammi's kids,Harneet and Ishmeet barged into their room...
'chaliye na mamu..humare paas baithenge ap',the kids cajoled him and took him to the hall.
After the puja,when the haweli was left with only relatives the lawyer came to read Brij's will.
Lawyer: According to this Brij Handa has nominated Geet as the heir of all his moveable and immovable property.Thats means the Handa haweli,the acres of land,farms,his bank balance everything is under Geet's name.
NT nodded in approval with tears in her eyes.
NT : This was his last wish,accept this Geet.His soul may rest in peace with the contentment that you forgave him.
Geet never wanted to accept that.It just didn't feel right to her.Those things..property,money..she never thot about them.She couldn't formulate words to refuse this.
Its Maan who spoke for her,' Geet doesn't need this.U can keep it with you'
Geet lukd at him in awe. How could he know her so well that he put the right words in her mind.
Geet: ha bhabhi.ye ap hi rakh lijiye.
NT: Wat will i do with this? God has already punished me for my deeds.I should have loved u girls like a mother,but...thats why God didn't give me the happiness of motherhood.And the man for whom i did all these so that i would be his proud and rich wife,he is no more! Now i know how meaningless was my greed! What will i do with all these money?
Geet: if u don't want give to some needy,help the poor..start a trust or something.
NT: Geet u may not want these.But isnt it duty to give something to your sasural.We didn't even attend your marriage!
Maan: ap log chahe puri duniya ki daulat taraaz me rakh do,lekin MERI Geet ka paala tab bhi bhari rahega! She is the most valuable and precious gift of my life and i can't ask for anything more.U should do what Geet said.May be you can spend for the education of poor girls.In that way you can repent your deeds.
Daarji: bilkul sahi kaha bete tumne.We will do it.Babaji ki kripa se humari bachi ko uska sacha jeevan sathi mil gaya.
The Handa family was really happy for Geet.They blessed the couple.Maan and Geet decided to leave immediately after dinner as Maan had already post-ponded many of his important sittings.
Geet wave goodbye to her family.She had no ill-feelings as they were truly repenting for their deeds.Now she will start a new life with her Maan.She lukd at him from the corner of her eyes and smiled.
The car was moving fast on the highway.Except for the FM playing in the stereo,no other voice was there. The FM was playing some B grade songs having errotic lyrics.
Maan quickly changd the station.
"Sarkayeliyo takiyo jaada lagey..."
He moved on to next station,
"Chukey bole na chuna mujhe... Chukey bole na chuna mujhe..Roshni se bharey bharey.."
Next,
"Band kamre me chahat buland kar lo..."

RJ: Imagine ap apne girlfrnd ke sath aisey romantic nite pe long drive ke liye nikle..sunsaan road..hot girlfrnd..aur romantic..
Maan switched it off in frustration.He was all embarassed when he found her staring at him.He didn't want to show that he was vulnerable,but now she has caught him. Geet didn't want to push him further.She laughed aloud easing his tension and he too smiled luking away.
Suddenly her mobile rang.
Geet: Hello..oh JS! I am missing you so much! ...no no no baba me nhe bhuli. I was in a hurry.
Maan's smile faded as he heard her coaxing and giggling to some JS. Did she say she missd him? He took his frustration on wheels raising the speed to 120...
Geet(on phone): ha baba..i am fine.Bilkul and i am not alone,i am with my...friend! ... Ha wo Maan.He was my tenant in Pondicherry..hmm..wahi
Now thats the limit for Maan! Friend??Tenant?? When was she, his landlady? He had made his intentions clear the day he saw her and this girl is still driving him crazy.
Geet : Good nite JS! Luv u too...
She kept the phone.
Geet: woah Maaan.. Slow down!
He ignored her.
Maan: kaun tha wo??
Geet: ooh! Someone is jealous,i guess!
Maan: Answer me Geet!
Geet: kyu Maan are u feeling bad?
He raised the speed 140!
Geet: Uh! Looks like u will kill me if i tell you...he is my current bf!
He hit the brake.The car skidded and came to a halt.
Maan: OUT!
Geet: Maan?
Maan: bahar niklo Geet!
Geet : u r joking rite?
Maan: tumne suna nhe mene kya kaha?
Geet: Maan be serious.Ye kya baat...
He got out of the car,dragged her outside and almost threw her out and left.
Geet stood there all alone in the dark and deserted road!
