As lead actors get younger, their parents on screen get younger too- especially onscreen moms who are getting younger by the day. With mostly fresh faces seen on television these days, the actors playing parents carry more weight as they are not just experienced actors but also familiar faces on television. Smita Bansal-Shashank Vyas in Balika Vadhu
34 year old Smita Bansal is a familiar face on Indian television and she plays the role of a subdued wife and mother in the hit Colors show Balika Vadhu. Her on screen son Jagya grew up just last year and now Shashank Vyas who is in his early to mid twenties. Though the lack of age gap is evident here, Smita more than makes up for it with her acting talent.
