Chapter 3

At the big oval glass crystallized dining table; Maan was sitting on one curve with Tanya and Sanya on his either side. His best friend Sufiyan was sitting besides Tanya, Mr. Khurana was beside Sufiyan while Mrs. Khurana was on the other side besides Sanya.

Maan said clearly. "Look, Mom-Dad you told me to come...and I did. But, I am out of here in five."

"I am right behind you," Sufiyan said smiling at his best friend.

Mrs. Khurana: "Dear, you have to stay...so you better stop complaining."

Sufiyan: "I am sorry. But, also being Maan's manager. I agree with him."

Maan smiled and giving a Hi-5 to his buddy, "Yeah, That's my man."

Sufiyan says giving back a Hi-5, "Don't worry dude, I have got your back."

Mr. Khurana: "As being his parents, we are also his manager and so, you both are staying right where you are."

Naina comes in and sits in middle of Mr. and Mrs. Khurana and starts, "Hello everyone - "

Maan interrupts, "Look, I want to get out of here."

Naina frowned, "Oh! Well, you can...but, first let's have dinner and some talk," saying so she yells, "Geet'.drinks."

Geet comes out of the kitchen and walks out with two different kinds of drinks on a tray. As she reaches the dining room door and sees Maan sitting right in front of the door she raises the tray a bit higher and covers her face. She walks to her step-mom and places a drink besides her plate and than does the same for everyone. Maan surely notices her but carries on with his argument and Sufiyan whole-heartedly supports him.

Next Geet brings out green salad and starts serving it though listening to the argument she knows that at least two people present are going to be leaving soon without touching the food.

Maan says in a angry tone, "Are we done now?"

Naina raises her hand in air all of a sudden and Geet in time moves the dish of salad before the hand hits the plate.

Mr. Khurana orders, "Stay and eat."

Geet was now behind Sufiyan's chair when Sufiyan scuds back and Geet barely manages to get out of the way before she drops anything down.

Sufiyan says his voice getting high, "Look...that's it, from now on only I am Maan Singh Khurana's manager...No one means NO one else."

Geet chuckles and makes her way towards Maan, just when she was about to serve him, he gets up suddenly and makes it clear, "Yeah!" Geet who has so not expected this sudden movement loses her balance and the plate goes flying in the air as she falls down on her back with Maan on top of her. How ironic!

Maan looks at her lovely face and smiles as he finally got to speak to her, "Hello...Nice meeting,"

Geet sighs, "This is so not right, why does it have to happen with me?"

Maan takes a piece of salad from Geet's hair gets up and gives her his hand.

She hesitates for a second than smiles and takes his hand and gets up on her feet.

Maan bids, "Bye," to Geet as Sufiyan pulls him and he goes out eating the salad from Geet's hair.

Naina screams, "You idiot...Look at what you have done, I need this place cleaned in 30 minutes."

Geet looks down at the mess and says, "Yes..."

Geet was in her room watching news and folding clothes.

On the TV the reporter carries on, "It is heard that popular and dashing Maan Singh Khurana is going to do a concert the night before the Valentines Day! Yes, we just received this information and he is performing in the auditorium of Vancouver High School. Every one is invited. The tickets will be sold for $10 at the front doors of the auditorium...Now let's go and hear what Mr. Maan Singh Khurana has to say on this news..." while she was giving the news in her professional tone Maan's photo flashes on the screen.

Reporter: "Hi Maan. How are you doing?"

Maan smiles, "I am doing very well, thank you."

Reporter: "Great...so, now tell us about your concert."

Maan clears his throat, "Well, as I said...It is true that on Saturday, the night before Valentines There is going to be a concert...All I will say is I will sing some of my songs and do some of my latest dance steps...So, guys be ready for the exciting night." And waves his hand

Reporter continues on with more of her blabbering.

Geer switches the TV off and walks downstairs, finding exactly what she expected to find.

Tanya and Sanya had their eyes glued on the TV.

Tanya exclaims, "OMG! I can't wait till Saturday night."

Sanya joins in, "Me too, Oh mi...There are lots of things to do...get my dress, my hair and nails done, oh and yes facial too."

Tanya: "I know lots of stuff to do and so less time."

Geet says from behind, "why are you both so fussed up over this guy?"

Tanya turns and looks at Geet as if she has gone insane, "This Guy! If you don't know his name is Maan."

Geet says sarcastically, "I know very well what his name is," and rolls her eyes.

Sanya exclaims more, "Fussed up! Oh I forgot you are not 'Normal' because all normal people like him and are so eager to meet him."

Geet says pointing towards her 'normal' step-sisters, "If you act this crazy...than you are NOT Normal."

Sanya rolls her eyes, "Whatever!"

On Saturday night, Tanya and Sanya got ready to go to the concert. They also took Geet along with them. Unexpected! ! !

Sanya parks in the no parking zone since she knew that there is going to be lots of people and she did not wanted to waste time to find a parking space..

Geet says pointing out towards the pole on the right, "This is no Parking zone...and the sign of No parking is right in front of car!"

Sanya smirks, "I know...Smarty...That's why we brought you."

Tanya chuckles, "Yes, now get behind the wheels."

Geet getting frustrated at their usual annoying tactics, "Wait, where are you both going?"

Tanya: "Of course, inside...you stay in here. So, the car does not get towed..."

Geet gasps and shakes her head...Tanya and Sanya enters the auditorium.

Geet is sitting in the car since last one hour.

She was getting tired of looking left, right and at the watch on her wrist.

Maan says, "Sufiyan are you sure the back side is open...not a single person there."

Sufiyan: "Yes yaar...it's dark at that side no one is there."

Maan breathes in heavily and nods.

Sufiyan says putting his hand on Maan's right shoulder, "Chill, now I will go in and open the back door and will see you there in about fifteen minutes."

Maan blinks, "Kay," hearing so Sufiyan leaves and Maan waits for sometime in car and than gets out, goes towards the back side of the auditorium and meets Sufiyan at the back door.

Sufiyan: "Got any problem?"

Maan shook his head negatively, "Nope..." says popping on the -p-

Sufiyan: "Kay than...Get up there and Rock the Stage."

Maan removes his jacket climbing up the stairs to back stage and says to Sufiyan, "Thanx man," winks and slides through the curtain to the front stage.
