"Iss ka matlab Anurag chala gaya?", Mauli asked sadly.

"Haan! Woh chale gaye. Unhe rokne ki bohot koshish ki par jab tak main airport pohochi, woh jaa chuke the. Zinda laash ban gayi thi main, zindagi tham si gayi thi. Maa ke saamne main normal behave karti thi par akele mein bohot rohti thi. Aise hi 3 mahine guzar gaye, aur phir ek din-"

"Sir, aap ne mujhe bulaaya?", Taani said to Robindo.

"First of all, stop calling me sir cuz I don't like it. Mere personality ke saath suit nahi karta, u know. Majburi hai iss liye yaha hu, warna kabka bhag gaya hota.", said Robindo in irritation. [note- Robi's majburi cuz he loves partying not being in office, as per his CS]

Expressionless, Taani obediently replied, "Fine! Robindo, aap ne mujhe bulaaya?"

"Haan woh ek chota sa kaam hai. Yeh kaam main hi karta par as I need to go to party now so you gotta do it for me.", Robindo said casually.

"Kaisa kaam?", Taani confusedly asked.

"Anurag da India aa rahe hai. So tumhe abhi airport jaakar unhe receive karna hoga. I wish if I could go par jis friend ke ghar mein party hai woh aaj raat hi America chala jayega, so I gotta be there. I hope you understand.", Robindo sweetly said.

Taani could not believe her ears. "Anurag sir vapas aa rahe hai?", she asked in disbelief.

"Well, he's not coming back forever. He's just coming for few days, maa ki tabiyat kharab hai naa, iss liye.", Robindo sadly informed.

Taani frowned, but in the next moment, a slight smile curved on her lips. She said, "Don't worry, Robindo. Main airport chali jayungi."

"Thanks!", Robindo gratefully said.

"My pleasure.", Taani said and left.

"3 mahine se office aa raha hu par kabhi bhi isse muskuraate huye nahi dekha, lekin aaj Anu da ke bade mein sunkar muskuraane lagi! Kuch samajh mein nahi aa raha!" Robindo wondered.

Standing on the waiting area, Taani was impatiently waiting for Anurag. "3 mahine baad unhe phir se dekh paayungi. Woh toh mujhe chod kar chale gaye the, par kehete hai naa ki kismat ke aage kisi ka bas nahi chalta. Jo bhi vajah ho, but the main thing is he's coming back to me.", Taani was in a trail of thoughts, just then; her sight landed on Anurag on the escalator.

With tears of joy in her eyes and a broad smile on her face, Taani proceeded forward, and there they came face to face. After a long period of three months, once again fate had brought them in front of each other. Anurag was dumbfounded seeing Taani.

Without wasting a single second, Taani ran to Anurag and hugged him tightly. Anurag stood still, and Taani, breaking off the hug and cupping his face, said with moist eyes, "Aap mujhe kyun chod kar chale gaye? Pata hai, aap ke bina meri kya haalat ho gayi thi."

Anurag held Taani's arms tightly and pushing her away, he said coldly, "Ms. Chatterjee, mujhe lagta hai ki aap mujhe receive karne aayi hai, as a PA, nothing more than that. So stay in your limits." Taani felt the earth being snatched beneath her feet.

"Anurag, aap yeh kya kehe rahe-", Taani said, but cutting her statement off, Anurag said in a very rude tone, "Just to make a correction, I'm the elder brother of your boss Robindo Ganguly, so you should call me sir." [note- before leaving, Anurag has transferred the power of authority of the company to Robindo]

Taani came forward to Anurag and looked directly in his eyes. "Aap aise kyun behave kar rahe hai? Hotel room mein jo kuch bhi hua, woh humare control mein nahi tha. Phir mere bimaar padhne se aur aapka mera aise khayal rakhne se humare beech boss aur PA ka alaava kuch rishta ban gaya, jaise jaise din guzar te gaye, hum dono ko apne feelings ka ehsaas hua, aur ek din achanak se aap mujhe chod kar chale gaye, bas ek letter chod kar? How could you? Kaise kar sakte hai aap mere saath aisa? Aap ko andaza bhi hai ki aapne jaane ke baad meri kya haalat hui thi?" she questioned him angrily, while the oceans of tears were constantly gushing from her eyes.

"Can we just leave?", Anurag said in a carefree tone. Taani's heart broke, hearing that. She didn't know what made him behave like this, but there was something that was hidden from her. She knew that her Anurag would never hurt her on purpose, but right now, she preferred not to speak anything.

"Gaadi bahar khari hai!" Taani said numbly and walked towards the exit. Anurag followed her.

"Agar woh tujhse pyaar karta hai phir aisa kyun behave kiya?", Mauli confusedly asked.

"Yeh toh main bhi nahi janti. Par kuch baat toh zarur hai, jis ke kaaran aj tak Anurag khud apne pyaar ko confess nahi kar sakte, sirf ek bar uss letter mein likh diya, bas!", Taani replied seriously.

"Phir tujhe yeh kaise pata chala ki Anurag ka woh rude behavior nataak tha? That he actually loves you?", Mauli questioned.

Taani said, "Anurag India aaye the sirf apne maa ke liye, jab unki tabiyat theek hui, tab woh phir se London jaane ki taiyaari kar rahe the. Woh apne ghar se nikal rahe the ki main waha pohoch gayi, unhe rokne-"

Carrying his luggage bag, Anurag opened the door but was shocked to see Taani in front. "Tum yaha?", he asked.

Taani entered in the house with attitude without answering his question. "Taani, I'm asking you something. What are you doing here?", Anurag, followed Taani inside and asked her bossily.

Taani turned around to face Anurag and confidently smiling, she said, "Aap phir se mujhe chod kar nahi jaa sakte."

"If you have come to tell me all these then just leave, or stay here, I won't mind, but I have to go. Meri flight miss ho jaayegi.", Anurag said harshly and as he took a step outside, Taani painfully shouted, "Agar kisi pal mein aapne mujhse pyaar kiya hai toh aap nahi jaayenge, aap ko meri kasam."

As Anurag listened to Taani's words, he just froze and was stunned. He closed his eyes and tears slowly flowed down from the corner of his eyes. "Kyun mere liye sab kuch aur mushkil kar rahi ho tum, Taani? I need to go away from your life for your betterment." He thought.

Taani was stepping closer and hearing her steps, Anurag quickly wiped off his tears, which was surely noticed by Taani. "Thank you!", she said with a satisfied smile, and Anurag, without responding, just went inside his house.

"Uss ke baad Anurag ne phir se company join karli aur once again, main unki PA ban gayi. Woh mere khaatir rukh toh gaye, phir bhi jitna ho sakte, mujhe dur rehene ki koshish karte hai. Maine bohot koshish kiya unke karib jaane ki par kuch faayda nahi hua. Aise hi 1 aur mahina guzar gaya and that's what is the present.", Taani said and with this, she finished her story.

Mauli huffed and said in disbelief, "Anurag tere saath itna rude behave karta hai phir bhi tu kyu usse itna pyaar karti hai?"

"Unke rude behavior mein bhi unka mere liye pyaar jhalak ta hai, aur main unse pyaar karna kabhi bhi chod nahi sakti.", Taani said with a loving smile.

"Phir bhi Taani! Iss pyaar ne tujhe sirf dard dia hai aur main apne best friend ko aise nahi dekh sakti.", Mauli said to Taani affectionately and hugged her.

Hugging her back, Taani said with a beautiful smile, "Mauli, pyaar mein jitna dard milta hai, woh pyaar utna hi gehera hota hai, and by the way my dear friend, mujhe iss dard mein bhi jo khushi milti hai, woh tu samajh bhi nahi sakti."

Mauli broke off the hug and said, "Tu sach mein paagal hai, anyways, I can bring you and Anurag together but for this, we need a third person."

"Third person?! Par kaise?" Taani asked, astonished.

At that moment, Laboni maa knocked the door and said loudly, "Taani, tujhse koi Robindo milne aaya hai."

"Robindo?!? Yaha?!?" exclaimed Taani in surprise.

Mauli, giving a victorious smile, said, "Mil gaya third person!"

Taani and Mauli came to the hall to meet Robindo, who was sitting on sofa.

"Robindo, aap yaha?", Taani asked normally.

Robindo stood up and said in a serious tone, "Taani, tum jaanna chahti ho naa ki Anu da tumse pyaar karne ke baad bhi khudko tumse dur kyun rakhte hai?"

Taani and Mauli felt as if they got a ray of hope hearing that. "Haan!", Taani said emotionally.

Robindo said, "Taani, tum Anu da ki zindagi ka ek important sach nahi janti."

"Kaunsa sach?", Taani asked confusedly.

Robindo took a deep sigh and said, "Anu da.. is.. a widower."

"Kya?", Taani said in shock. Mauli just stood still with a dumbstruck expression.

"Nupur bhabhi 7 saal pehele ek accident mein guzar gayi.", Robindo informed.

"Toh kya issi vajah se-" Taani said speechlessly.

"Woh sochte hai ki Nupur bhabhi ki maut unke carelessness ke vajah se hui hai. Aur baaki sab bhi yehi sochte hai, including his.. 7 years old daughter Chahat! Issi liye woh tumse dur rehete hai kyunki woh yeh nahi chahte ki unka dard, unke hisse ki nafrat ka saaya bhi tumhare upar padhe.", Robindo said softly.

Taani was out of words. She sat down and broke into tears. "Itna pyaar karte hai, toh kya thoda sa bhi bharosa nahi kar sakte hai? Ek bar bataakar toh dekha hota-" She choked her words as pain took over her, so she just ran to her room and started crying her heart out.

"Aaj achanak se aap yeh sab Taani ko kyun bataa rahe hai?", Mauli asked Robindo with a confused look.

"Kyunki main apne dada ko unke pyaar se milwaana chahta hu. I can't see my bro in pain.", Robindo said emotionally.

Mauli firmly said, "Main bhi apne best friend ko uske pyaar se milwaana chahti hu. Toh agar hum ek saath hokar yeh kar sakte hai, if you don't mind." Saying that, she extended her hand. Shaking hands with Mauli, Robindo said with a slight smile, "Fine! We will do it together!"

Mauli smiled, too, getting his consent and said, "Great! By the way, I'm Mauli!" "I'm Robindo and I hope we will make a great team!", Robindo said, to which Mauli replied with a winning smile, "We will!"

Lying on the bed, Taani was staring at Anurag's photo. Her tears were dried up but her eyes were red, which really showed that she cried a lot.

Milke bhi, hum na mile

Tumse na jaane kyun,

Milo ke hai phasle tumse na jaane kyun

Anjaane, hai silsile

Tum se na jaane kyun,

Sapne hai palko tale tum se na jaane kyunnn..

In Ganguly house, Anurag was sitting in his balcony and looking at Taani's picture with teary eyes.

Kaise batayein

Kyun tujhko chahe

Yaara batha na paayein

Tu jaane naa..
