Chapter 54
Sargam: Mom why are you crying so much in the video?
Geet looked at Sargam who was watching her wedding video. It has been two days since her leg accident. Slowly she is healing but still can't put any pressure on her foot. To her surprise, Maan got really good at handling the kids but still she knows there is something fishy that he improved this much. When she tries to ask the kids about it they simply deny it and distract her with something else but she knows that Maan has done something. Something so big that he might have paid the kids off to not tell her but she is no fool she will find out anyhow. But for now, she is watching her wedding video enjoying her time with the kids. Watching the videos brought back all the past memories and all the pranks they played on each other. She showed the kids all the letters that they used to write each other back to back. She had saved everything from the beginning in a scrap book.
Geet: umm because I was leaving my dad and my brother and sister behind thats why
Sargam: ohh so when you are married you leave your family behind? why?
Geet (smiles) because that is how it is. All the girls have to do this.
Sargam: Boys don't this too? Where do the girls go?
Geet (laughs): No boys don't do that. Boys get to stay with their parents after marriage but girls they leave their house to go to their new home.
Sargam: So that means when I get married then I will leave MJ and Armaan as well?
Geet: yeah
Sargam: Ohh (she goes back to watching the video then she smiles and stands up on the bed) Then I want to get married too now. (Geet spits her juice when she heard that)
Geet: What?
Sargam: Yeah I want to get married so that I can leave MJ and Armaan. They bother me so much.
Geet: Sargam beta don't say that...anyway who are you going to get married to? You need a boy.
Sargam: ohh I have someone in mind. He is my friend. I will go call him and see what he says. (She runs out of the room before Geet could say anything to her.)
"Oh my god what have I done. She is planning her marriage right now. If Maan finds out first he is going to kill me for putting this idea in her head. She is so stubborn like her father. hmm I can't even get up to stop her. I guess Maan will have to handle her.") She picks up Asha who was starting to wake up from her nap.

Sargam runs downstairs and calls her friend Raj to tell him the news. After couple of rings she finally gets in touch with him.
"Hey tum mujhse shadi karo"
Raj: tum kya kehe rahi ho. Shaddi?
Sargam: Haan mom told me if I get married then I would leave my house. So iska matalb agar humari shaadi hogayi toh main tumhare saath har roz rahoongi and we both could play all day long.
Raj (excited): Really? Ok I will tell mom and dad that hum dono shaadi kar rahe hai. Magar yeh shaadi kya hai? Agar mummy papa puche ge tho main kya baatoonga?
Sargam: I don't know. I saw the video of my mom and dad's shaadi. All I know is that she was crying while leaving to go with dad.
Raj: Why was she crying?
Sargam: Because she was leaving her family
Raj: Are you going to cry too?
Sargam: Maybe only because I will be leaving my mumma, papa and Asha.
Raj: Ohh ok do I have to cry too?
Sargam: Stupid why would you cry. You are not leaving your family.
Raj: Ohh yeah. Ok I will tell my parents
Sargam: No wait I will let you know when to say it. I will speak with dad first. He says that I have to let him know whenever I have to go somewhere.
Raj: Ok then. Call me later. Bye
Sargam: Bye. (She hangs up the phone and goes upstairs to Maan's study room. She quietly opens the door to see what he was doing. Maan sees Sargam and signals her to come inside. She smiles and sits on his lap and kisses him on his cheek)
Maan; What happened? You are being nice and quiet for once.
Sargam: I am always nice and quiet. (Maan roles his eyes and concentrate on his work.) Papa I need to ask you something. (Maan puts the file down knowing she would ask him something sooner or later..)
Maan: hmm go ahead and ask me.
Sargam: Mujhe shaadi karni hai
Maan (looks at her shocked): What?! (in angry tone) Who told you all this?
Sargam: I was watching your shaadi with mom and she said that girls get to leave their home after the shaadi and I want to go to so that I can leave MJ and Armaan. They pick on me all the time.
Maan ("Geet! I should've known you put this ideas in the kids head. God knows what she is going to say tomorrow.") Let me go talk to your mom and I will talk to MJ and Armaan so that they dont bother you.
Sargam: but I asked Raj already for shaadi
Maan (another shock): Raj? Who is this Raj?
Sargam: He is my friend from school. I called him up already and he said yes.
Maan (clears his throat): Umm Sargam beta if you decide to leave then you wont be able to go to our family trips every year. This year I was planning on going to Disney world but since you are leaving I will cancel your ticket.
Sargam: what! Disney world?
Maan (shakes his head yes): but since you are going there is no point in me having your ticket. Let me call right now to cancel it. (He picks up the phone and pretends to call someone. He looks at Sargams face from the corner of his eyes and smiles knowing he got her. He pretends to speak into the phone but before he could say anything Sargam snatches the phone and hangs it up.) What happened?
Sargam: I don't want to go. I want to go to the trip.
Maan: But what about your shaadi? and Raj?
Sargam: Shaadi canceled. I will tell Raj about it too.
Maan: Are you sure?
Sargam: yeah

Maan barges into the room and looks at Geet with anger. She smiles knowing why he is here.
Geet: What happened Maan? (Trying to be innocent)
Maan: you know very well why i am here. What is Sargam talking about with shaadi?
Geet: ohh umm she is a curious kid
Maan: Whenever she get an idea of something stupid she has to do it and sometimes she gets them from you and I have to go and deal with their consequences.
Geet; Are you saying that I am stupid and that I do this purposely?
Maan: I didn't say you are stupid and yes maybe you do it purposely to annoy me.
Geet: You were IMPLYING it that I am stupid and YES I do get a joy in annoying you is that what you want to hear?
Maan: Geet all I am saying is that you know how Sargam is. I just stalled her by bribing her with a family vacation.
Geet: Well you have fun with the kids because I am not going anywhere with you. (She lies down and turns her back toward Maan. Maan sighs and sits on the corner of the bed and touches her shoulder. Geet shrugs his hands off)
Maan: Geet come on please look at me. I diddn't mean to yell at you. I am sorry.
Geet: No you always do this. You think I did this on purpose.
Maan: I didn't mean to I was just angry.'
Geet: That is the point, whenever kids ask you questions you always think that I am the one put them up for this. (She lies on her back now away from Maan.)
Maan: Where are the kids?
Geet: Arjun and Yash took the kids with them to some park. They were waiting for Sargam to finish up with you so they can take her too.
Maan: ohh (he opens her blouse hook. Geet eyes pop open after feeling the hook being opened. He began kissing her back and then opening up her bra hook.)
Geet: Maan what are you doing? Stop it. I have injured leg.
Maan: I know I won't let anything happen to your leg and besides I missed loving you. Please don't stop me. (He turns her around and begins kissing her everywhere. He removes the blouse strap from her shoulder as Geet hugs him tilting her head to give him better access. She begins unbuttoning his shirt. Maan moves up a little and completley takes his shirt off. He picks her up a little bit and opens her hair and gently lies her back down.) Did I tell you how much I love you wearing saris. (He whispers in her ears) It makes it easier to take it off (She smiles and hugs him. Maan moves his hands from her upper arms to her shoulders and takes out her blouse. He bends down and starts biting and sucking her breasts.)
Geet: Maan (she moans) I don't want more kids.
Maan (stops and looks at her) Me either. From the last two days I have realized how much of a handful they can be so I came prepared. (He takes out packet of condoms) I came prepared.
Geet: So you were planning all this?
Maan: I was going to show you tonight but (he kisses her on her lips) since kids are not home what better way. (she playfully smacks him...) I love you.
Geet: I love you too. (she gasps when he opens up her saree very carefully and then taking off his clothes. He takes a pillow and places it under her leg making sure it doesn't hurt her before moving on top of her. He starts kissing her again as he gently moves in making love to her.)

A week went like this and Geet could now slowly move with the aid of the crutches. Maan stood near the mirror fixing his tie as Geet silently watched him getting dressed for work. He looks at her through the mirror and smiles. He leaves his tie half way and comes near Geet so that she could finish the rest. He sits on the bed as Geet leans forward to fix his tie.
Geet: Do you really have to go on this trip?
Maan (he nuzzles her neck) Hmmm am sorry. I will be back soon
Geet (giggles and pushes Maan back): Stop it let me finish doing your tie.
Maan (sighs and just silently watches her. He was so happy to have Geet and the kids in his life. Without them he would be incomplete.) Ok by the way why is the house quiet. It is not like the kids to be this quiet.
Geet: they are busy making list of things they want from your trip.
Maan: what? You know I won't have time to shop.
Geet: I know but you have to try or else you know they will throw tantrums.
Maan: ok aren't they getting late for school?
Geet: They will go later. School is starting late.
Maan: hmmm..what do you want from the trip? (He begins kissing her neck again)
Geet: I want you only! (she holds his face and kisses him on the lips making Maan groan)
Maan: If you do that then I don't know how I will be able to leave.
Geet: We can continue the rest. Now go and come back soon! (She hugs him. Maan hugs her back and picks her up to bring her downstairs.)
Maan: You are not staying up here until I come back. I told Nakul already to bring your stuff down here for the week. (She smiles and kisses him on his cheek. After setting her down on the sofa in the living room. He gets up to leave. He looks at her from the door and gives her a flying kiss.)
Maan: Will be back before you know it!
Geet: I will count each day waiting for you. (He smiles and leaves to go to his business trip for a whole week. He says bye to each kid and grabs their list. Geet already started to miss him. This was not the first trip Man has gone to but every time he does it felt like eternity to her. She helplessly counts each day, time, minutes, hours, and seconds waiting for him to be back. She was about to get up when she hears a phone ring. She screams on the phone when realizing who it was calling) OMG Vicky!! How are you! Where is Meera? How is your kid Ranbir?
Only one sided conversation!
Geet: Yeah kids are good over here. Just are very naughty. They are in school right now. Yeah that is why it is so quiet. Maan? Maan has gone to his business trip. Yeah for a week. Yeah put Meera on I want to talk to her. (She listens at Vicky yelling Meera's name. She smiles) Meera!!! Hey!!! Yeah I am good, my leg is fine too. (she laughs) it is long story I will tell you some other time. Wait what! You guys are coming here. This week? Oh my god I can't wait to see you guys! Yeah ohh ok email me your flight information and we will pick you guys up. No no you are not bothering me. Ok then I will see you soon! bye
She hurriedly hangs up the phone and gets off the sofa and starts walking with the crutches to tell Dadima the news. She was about to step out of the house when Dadima arrives with Pinky)
Pinky: Bhabi where are you going? You know you should be sitting down.
Geet: I know I was about to go to Dadima.
Dadima: Beta until Maan comes back we are going to be here with you.
Geet: Ohh ok. Where is Ramesh?
Pinky: At school. I just dropped him off before coming here. How is your leg?
Geet: its healing but let me tell you guys the news before I forget.
All: what news?
Geet (smiles): Vicky and Meera are coming in three days.
Dadima: really? Wow that's great news. I will tell Nakul and everyone to start preparing for them.
Pinky: Yeah I miss Ranbir. Last time I saw him he was just 2 years old. He must be so big now.
Geet: yeah. I have to let Maan know but I am waiting for him to call as soon as he reaches the place.
Pinky: Until then we can make list of things that we need to prepare and we should do something fun too once Maan bhai comes back. It will be so much fun with everyone together on a trip.
Dadima: yeah that is a good idea. Lets start making a list.
