Part 10

All the Khurana members were having breakfast.

Kumkum- "Adi yesterday you looked so cute with Pinky...You could have acted a bit better...but I guess you weren't comfortable".

Adi- "Maa don't talk of that chipku girl..she is so annoying".

Kumkum- "Geet beta thanks for yesterday...if it wasn't for you and Maan..everyone would have thrown tomatoes".

Geet- "Aunty it was fun".

Pinky walked in and gave the files to Maan. "Maan sir you and Geet looked so adorable and hot". The whole table felt silent and awkward. "Uh thanks Pinky but it was only acting".

Geet got up and left. Maan realised that something was up and he followed. "Geet...what's the matter you seem upset about something..I was going to ask you last night but Adi called me".

"Nothing Maan I am just a bit tired plus I am missing baba..he hasn't rang either..I'm just a bit worried about him..its the first time we are separated so we are bound to miss each other".

"Oh I thought you were upset with me as I had changed the steps and added a handkiss , forehead kiss and picked you up".

"Maan don't worry..it was harmless acting...we had to look the part..plus we were so engrossed and spontaneous that we wouldn't have remembered the routine..anyways whats your plans for today?"

"Well I wanted us to go ice skating". Geet got excited and then frowned. "But Maan I don't know how to ice skate".

"Geet mere hote hue you don't need to worry I will teach you".

Maan wore casual Nike bottoms and a top. Geet wore trousers with long top. They went to the rink and Geet was nervous. "Maan I will sit down and watch you as your a pro..I will fall".

"Geet relax I am with you just hold on to me." Maan skated behind her and held on to her waist. She started to feel uncomfortable and a tingling sensation in her body. "The rule of skating is that you need to maintain balance"...as he said that Geet wobbled and was about to fall Maan grabbed hold of her...she closed her eyes and then opened to see Maan staring into her hazel eyes.

"Maan mujse ye nahin hoga..jane do muje". Maan grabbed her waist again "I didn't say skating was going to be easy". Slowly Geet began to get confident and started skating. "Maan I can skate I can skate !".

"I told you Maan Singh Khurana is a magician". She began twirling about and going all over the rink. Maan smiled seeing her having a good time. He stood and watched her in delight. Suddenly another skater came and pushed her accidently, she lost her balance and skidded. Maan ran to her and she was about to fall that he grabbed her arm and pulled her into an embrace.

Maan was lost in the hug and she in her fear was clinging on to him like dear life. "Geet are you okay?". She never replied. He remained holding her tight. His eyes caught a glimpse of the torn arm he had ripped while grabbling her. His eyes were lost in her milky white skin. He was about to touch her ripped arm but he pulled away and looked away. Geet realised and felt conscious. He put his jacket round her and walked her to the car.

All the way Maan was silent and Geet was feeling really embarrassed with what had happened. Suddenly Maan parked his car near a mall. "Geet chalo". He grabbed her hand and took her to a ladies clothes shop. "Geet I can't take you home like this so I thought I would buy you clothes..so please choose". Geet was choosing and Maan followed her. *babaji ye Maan muje follow kyon kar rahe hain its so embarrassing*. Maan chose some for her "Geet ye bi lo tum par ache lage ge".

"Maan muje ye sab nahi chahiye aik hi kaafi hain".

"Nahin ye meri taraf se tumare liye gift". They were bickering. The shopkeeper intervened. "Memsaab your husband is buying them for you with love take it".

"No he is not my husband" she replied feeling strange.

"Oh your fianc?" she shook her head "Your boyfriend?" Maan smirked at Geet's plight. Suddenly an old lady walked in and saw Maaneet. "Puttar humare Heer-Ranjha ko discount dena".

"Heer-Ranjha?" asked the shopkeeper. "Haan ye Kumkum ka beta hain aur kal raat bataya tah na ke kamala ka programme tah in ka aur inn ki Jodi toh bahut khubsurat ti". Maaneet looked at each other and felt embarrassed. Geet went into change and both left for home.

Maan went up to his room and lay down. *Ye Geet bi na muje pagal kar degi*. All he could think was how they spent the day together. How he held her while she was learning how to skate and their hug. Why was he feeling like this about her? Why could he not shake her off his head and thoughts? All the comments of people complimenting their Jodi were coming back as flashbacks. He picked up his phone and rang her. As soon as she picked up he went silent. "Hello...hello Maan?"

"How did you know it was me?"

"who would ring me apart from you..anyway why you rang so late?"

"Uh I was missing you and your blabbering".

"Acha all day you spent with me and you still miss me".

"agar mere par hoti toh saari umar tumare saat guzaarata".

"Kya?"

"Kuch nahin...vaise you ready for office tomorrow and the party?"

"Yep...aur vaise Maan what am I suppose to wear?"

"Nothing! I mean anything".

They carried on talking till 12am but they were not aware of the silence before the storm that was brewing.
