Hey my dear readers🤗..

Chapter 16

Mayank, Nupur, Anurag and Taani were standing outside the court. The police were standing aside as Mayank had requested them to give him some time to talk to his friends.

Seeing the handcuffs in Mayank's hands, Nupur felt herself broken inside. But she decided to pretend to be strong in front of Mayank. So, she just stood numb. Taani was constantly crying and Anurag was standing helpless with ocean of tears in his eyes.

Mayank came near Anurag and said with a forced smile, "Yaar, apna khayaal rakhna aur plz meri behen ka bhi khayaal rakhna."

Anurag hugged Mayank and said emotionally, "Tumhe jaldi vapaas aana hoga aur apni behen ka khayaal khud rakhna hoga. Samjhe tum?"

Mayank broke the hug and said with a slight smile, "Don't worry at all. Yeh 6 mahine palak jhapakte hi guzar jaayenge. Phir toh mujhe vapaas aana hi hai."

Anurag nodded and putting his hand on Mayank's shoulder, he said, "Apna khayaal rakhna."

Mayank smilingly nodded. He went in front of Taani, while Anurag stood beside Nupur. Seeing Nupur motionless and expressionless, Anurag felt his heart being pierced severly. He put his hand around Nupur's arms and Nupur rested her head on Anurag's shoulder.

Mayank stood in front of Taani and seeing constantly crying, he felt his heart broken into a zillion pieces. Since childhood, he had never let the tears come in his darling sister's eyes. But today, she was crying for him. This realization made him feel miserable. Yet he was strong enough to hide what he was feeling and console the apple of his eye, his sweetheart sister, Taani.

He wiped off Taani's tears sweetly. Unable to control herself anymore, Taani pulled his brother in a tight hug in a way as if she didn't want him to go away from her. Mayank couldn't even hug her back as his hands were bind together with the handcuffs. He was so damn helpless!

Once Taani broke off the hug, she said sobbingly touching Mayank's cheeks, "Bhai, tu mujhe chod kar nahi jaa sakta. Main tere bina kya karungi! Main nahi rehe paayungi tere bina. Please bhai, mat jaa."

Mayank laughed and said, "Paagal! Mujhe toh jaana padhega. Aur tujhe itna rone ki zarurat nahi hai. Humesha ke liye thodi hi jaa raha hoon. Sirf 6 mahine ki toh baat hai. Yeh 6 mahine kab guzar jaayenge, tujhe pata tak nahi chalega. Par tab tak, tu apna aur Anurag-Nupur ka khayaal rakhegi. Mujhse waada kar!" Saying that, he forwarded his hand.

Taani put her hand on Mayank's and said, "Main waada karti hoon bhai!" Mayank smiled in satisfaction. He touched Taani's cheek and said, "Yeh hui naa meri behen waali baat." Taani slightly smiled to support Mayank and give him strength.

The inspector came and said holding Mayank's arm, "Chalo, bohot ho gaya, abhi tumko chalna hoga." "Please, 5 minutes aur. Sirf 5 minutes, please!", Mayank pleaded and the inspector agreed.

At last, Mayank stood in front of Nupur. Anurag, on seeing Mayank staring Nupur so intently with so much pain in his eyes, decided to leave them alone. He went near Taani and held her by her arms. They walked away from Mayank and Nupur.

"Nupur!", Mayank said softly. Nupur raised her eyes and those were full with tears. Tears formed in Mayank's eyes too, seeing Nupur like that. She was breaking inside, he knew that very well. Tears slowly flowed from Nupur's eyes wetting her cheeks. Now Mayank broke inside, too and somehow that reflected in his eyes. It was getting hard enough to pretend strong for both of them. Silence prevailed between them but seemed like, it spoke volumes. They stared at each other with tears-filled eyes.

Mayank brought his face close to Nupur which made her close her eyes as she could feel Mayank's breath on her cheeks. They seemed to forget about the world. Leaning a bit, Mayank softly kissed the drop of tear on Nupur's cheeks.

Once he moved back, Nupur opened her eyes. Mayank said touching Nupur's cheek, "Mere liye tujhe apna khayaal rakhna padhega. Mere liye tu khush rahegi. Jab main vapaas aayu, tab main apni wahi purani waali Nupur dekhni hai. Mere liye teri zindagi rukna nahi chahiye. Apna singer banne ka sapna tu jarur pura karegi. Samjhi?"

Nupur hugged Mayank tightly and said, "Aap jo kahenge, main wahi karungi." Mayank smiled hearing what Nupur said.

Nupur broke off the hug and giving a peck on Mayank's cheek, she said, "Khayaal rakhna."

"Tu bhi!", Mayank said touching her cheek and went to the police. "Chaliye!", he said to them and they began descending the stairs, while Nupur stared at Mayank going away.

Once Mayank was taken in the jeep, Nupur ran downstairs. Anurag and Taani were there as well. All three stared at Mayank being taken away in the jeep. When Mayank was out of sight, Taani broke down in Anurag's arms. Anurag rubbed her back to console her. Nupur felt herself weak to stand and at last, she fell on the street and cried her heart out.

Taani was cooking in the kitchen, just then; Nupur came running to her with a huge smile on her face. "Kya hua Nupur? Tu itna khush kyun lag rahi hai?"

Nupur twirled Taani around by holding her arms and said smilingly, "Taani, kal se mere pehele album ka recording hai. Finally mere mahino ka hard-work rang laa rahi hai. Main bohot khush hoon, Taani."

Taani hugged Nupur and said smilingly, "Congrats Nupur! Main tere liye bohot khush hoon. I'm really happy." Once they broke their hug, Taani was about to say something.

"TAAANIII!", Anurag shouted from his room. "Yeh lo, bulaawaa aa gaya.", Taani said and giggled. Nupur laughed and said, "Yeh toh daily routine hai. Jaakar dekho kyun bula rahe hai, warna phirse gussa karenge." "Dekhti hoon.", Taani smilingly said and went to Anurag's room.

Nupur saw the curry being cooked. Seeing that, she turned off the cooker and went outside. Standing beside the window, she stared at the sky. Seeing the dark clouds slowly going away and a little amount of bright sunlight coming through the clouds and lighting the world, she broadly smiled and said, "Humare zindagi se bhi aab dukh ke baadal jaane waale hai. 1 hafte ke baad 6 mahine pura hone waali hai. Phir Mayank hum sab ke saath honge."

There was a photo-frame of a photo of all four of them together. Nupur picked it up and stared at it. They were smiling in the photo. Nupur's eyes were teary seeing that. She said rubbing her fingers on Mayank's face in the photo, "Mayank, aap ne jo kaha tha, who abhi bhi mujhe yaad hai. Maine aapki har baat maani hai. Aur mujhe pura yaakeen hai, mere pehele album ki recording ki baat sunke aap bohot khush honge. Main sach mein bohot desperate hoon aap ko yeh khush khabri dene ke liye."

Nupur looked at the wall-clock and said to herself, "Abhi bhi 3 ghanta. Visiting hours 5pm hai aur abhi hai 2pm. Yeh 3 ghante kab bitenge.", saying that, she made an annoyed face.

Taani came in Anurag's room and seeing him struggling in tying the tie, she broke herself in a giggle. Anurag looked at Taani and said making an irritated childish expression, "Tu waha khadi hokar has kyun rahi hai? Aa meri help kar!" "Aati hoon naa! Aise aakhein kyun dikha raha hai.", Taani said and stood in front of Anurag.

Taani started tying Anurag's tie lowering her eyes to the tie, while Anurag gazed at her with the cutest smile. All of a sudden, he enveloped her in his strong arms.

"Yeh kya kar raha hai? Chod mujhe! Tujhe office nahi jana kya?", Taani said struggling to get off from Anurag's hold.

Anurag tightened his grip and said mischievously looking lovingly at Taani, "Aaj kuch aur karne ka maan kar raha hai." Taani raised her eyes in disbelief and Anurag winked. Taani said, "Anu, tu bhul raha hai ki humari abhi bhi shaadi nahi hui hai. 1 haafte baad bhai ko vaapas aane de, phir tujhe usse mera haath maangna padhega. Samjha?"

"Jo hokum rajkumari ji.", Anurag said bowing down his head which made Taani chuckle. "Chal aab nautanki bandh kar aur office jaa!", Taani said pushing Anurag away.

Anurag came close to Taani and putting his hand on Taani's waist, he said looking deeply in Taani's eyes, "Jaane se pehele ek kiss, plzzz!", he said the last word childishly.

"Anu, tujhe late ho raha hai.", Taani said making an annoyed look and moving back, she turned around to go back to the kitchen.

Anurag held Taani's wrist and pulled her to himself. Taani bumped against Anurag's chest. Hugging Taani from behind and keeping his chin on Taani's shoulder, he said innocently, "Don't be so heartless yaar! Ek kiss toh banti hai."

Taani smiled and turned back to Anurag. Anurag brought his face close enough to Taani's so that she could feel his breath. Taani closed her eyes and a smile curved on her beautiful face. Anurag smiled seeing the beautiful smile curved on his girl's face. Leaning down, he softly kissed on her lips, making her cheeks red in blush.

"Thanks!", saying that, Anurag grinned. Before Taani could say something like "no thanks in our relationship" or something like that, Anurag captured her lips in another soft kiss.

Once they broke off from the kiss, Anurag said "Bye!" to Taani and went out. Taani blushed and smiled broadly.
