This poem is really close to my heart since it is dedicated to someone very special to me.
Definition of love
What is love? I asked my mom when i was a child
Back then she did not know how to tell me what this feeling meant
You'll know when you meet someone who is made for you
This was all she said
and then you came into my life as my best friend
and perhaps that was when i realized what love meant
it was love when you clapped with joy when i took my first step and learnt to walk
it was love when i used to fight for your ice cream, and you would happily give yours
it was love when i fell asleep the minute you ruffled my hair
it was love when you lost on purpose to make me win
it was love when you skinned your knee and i felt the pain
it was love when you were nervous on the day of my exam result
it was love when you cried and my heart ached
it was love that made us realise we were in love
it was love that united us in bonds blessed by God
it was love when you held my hands and i blushed
it was love when i burnt your toast and you eat it lovingly
it was love when i found peace in that one smile of yours
it was love when i got worried the moment you were a little late from work
it was love when you coped up with my bad moods
it was love when you hugged me while i was low
it was love when we danced in each other's happiness
it was love when we cried in each other's sorrows
it was love when we decided to spend our life together
Now when i look back i wonder, was it love
and i realise that it was love indeed
And this makes me fall in love with you all over again
And thus i realise that there is no definition of love
its just a feeling, its simply magic
and for me, love is friendship, love is YOU
