Anurag silently wiped off his tears and turned his face to Taani. Seeing the calmness depicting on Taani's innocent face, he gazed at her for a moment. After a minute or two, Taani opened her eyes to change the song when she saw Anurag gazing at her.
Taani stared at Anurag and felt herself lost in those eyes which were reflecting only pain. They shared a beautiful eye-lock. Tears started forming in Taani's eyes as the pain in Anurag's eyes were piecing her heart like a sharp needle.
Anurag was shocked seeing the tears slowly flowing down from Taani's eyes. He slowly extended his hand and wiped the tears off from Taani's cheeks.
Taani was amazed at this sudden and unexpected act of Anurag. Without wasting a time, she pulled Anurag in a tight, warm hug. Anurag sat still for a second but at last, he encircled Taani in his strong arms as his heart was desiring to do so. Taani gave a tearful smile feeling the warmth of the man she loved. Someone truly said - Morning dreams often come true.
"Sir, office aa gaya!", said the driver which brought Anurag back to the reality. He broke the hug in a blink and went out of the car without saying a single word. Taani sat there numb for a moment, then sighed and went to the office.
Anurag took off his coat, hung it with the clip stuck with the main door and sat on his chair. He leaned back and closed his eyes. The moment when Taani was in his arms flashed in his mind. He opened his eyes in shock and those were filled with ocean of tears. "Kyun kismat ne Taani aur mujhe milaaya? Kyun hum dono karib aaye? Kyun hum ek dusre se bepanha pyaar karne lage jab hum dono kabhi bhi ek nahin ho sakte?", Anurag thought. He closed his eyes again and let the tears shed.
Someone knocked at Anurag's door. Anurag opened his eyes and quickly wiped off his tears. "Come in!", he said in a strict tone. The door was opened and Taani entered inside. Anurag was a little shocked to see her but he somehow managed to hide it.
"Tum yaha?", Anurag asked in a cold tone. Taani stared at Anurag with anger filled her eyes and said, "Inn papers mein aap ke signatures chahiye." Saying that, she handed Anurag the file. Anurag took it, checked the papers, signed on those and gave the file back to Taani. Taani took it and turned around to go back to her cabin.
"Taani!", Anurag said rudely and Taani turned back. "Jee!", Taani turned back and said in an equal rude tone. "Umm.. woh actually mujhe Bhattacharya Constructions ke MD se baat karni hain.", Anurag said. Taani glared at Anurag and said, "Aap ke saamne phonebook hain. Uss par contact number mil jaayegi aap ko." Saying that, she went out. Anurag slightly smiled and said to himself, "Jitna tum mujhse nafrat karo, utna tumhare liye accha hain Taani."
Taani ran to her cabin and closing the door, she cried her heart out. "Aap mujhe itna dard dete hain. Issi liye main aap se nafrat karne ki kitni koshish karti hoon par iss dil ka kya karu jo sirf aap se pyaar karna jaanti hain. Aap chahe mujhse jaisa bhi behave kare Anurag, main chahu bhi toh aap se pyaar karna nahin chod sakti.", she said while sobbing.
The phone in Taani's cabin rang. She picked it up and said in a low tone, "Hello!" Anurag said, "Bhattacharya Constructions Project ke baade mein tumse kuch discuss karna hain. Come to my cabin right now." "Aati hoon!", Taani said and hung up the phone. She went to Anurag's cabin.
Taani knocked the door. "Come in!", Anurag said. Taani came in with her eyes lowered. Anurag stared at her for a moment and asked in a concerned voice, "Tum royi thi kya?" Taani looked up to face Anurag and said in a low tone, "Aap mujhse kisi project ke baade mein baat karna chahte the naa!"
Anurag stood up and went near Taani. Taani lowered her eyes again and sniffed which made Anurag sure that she cried. He said in a commanding voice, "Baitho yaha!"
Taani sat on the chair. Anurag sat in front of her on his chair. He was about to say something, just when his cell phone rang. He took out his cell from his pocket and went busy in talking with some client.
Taani looked down blankly and was deeply lost in some thoughts. While she was thinking about something, she didn't realize when she grabbed the paper cutter which was kept in front of her. She gripped the sharp edge of the paper cutter which made her fingers injured. But she didn't feel its pain as her heart was crying for something more painful than this.
Anurag's eyes suddenly spotted Taani's injured finger that was bleeding. He was dumbfounded. "Call you back later!", he said, cut off the call and rushed beside Taani. He held her by her arms and made her stand up. Taani came back to her senses.
Without saying anything, Anurag grabbed Taani's injured finger and sucked the bleeding blood out of it. Taani stared at Anurag with an amazed expression and suddenly she said, "Aap mujhse bohot pyaar karte hain, haina?"
Anurag looked up dumbfounded by this sudden question by Taani. Taani moved away her finger. She said smilingly, "Mujh par koi bhi kharoch, meri koi bhi taqleef aap se bardasht nahin hoti, right? Actually the truth is, main aap se jitna pyaar karti hoon, usse kahi jyada aap mujhse pyaar karte hain."
Anurag turned his face to the other side and said, "Main tumse pyaar nahin karta." Taani smiled again and stood in front of Anurag. She cupped Anurag's face in her hands and said looking deeply in his eyes, "Toh phir abhi aap ne jo kia woh kya tha? Now don't tell me that you did this because I'm your employee!"
Anurag gripped Taani's arms very tightly and said angrily emphasizing on every word, "Maine tumse pehele bhi kaha hain ke I don't love you! I. DON'T. LOVE. YOU!"
Tears formed in Taani's eyes yet she broadly smiled and said keeping her eyes on his, "Aap mujhse bohot pyaar karte hain, Anurag! Dunia mein mujhse koi jaan se bhi jyada pyaar karta hain toh woh aap hain."
Anurag stared at Taani, shocked. Seeing the tears in Taani's eyes, Anurag left his tight grip on Taani's arms and said softly lowering his eyes, "I am sorry ke maine tumhe itne jor se pakda."
Taani gave a tearful smile and said, "Yeh toh aap ka haq hain." Anurag looked up, speechless. Tears slowly streamed from his eyes. Taani stepped closer to Anurag and wiped off his tears. Anurag stared at her with teary eyes and said, "Main tumhe itni taqleef deta hoon phir bhi tum kyun mujhse itna pyaar karti ho?"
Seeing the pain and the sorrow in Anurag's eyes, Taani felt her heart broken into million pieces. "Aap please aise roiye mat. Main aap ko aise nahin dekh sakti. Aap ke aasu mere liye bohot kimti hain.", she said. "Main tumse apna pyaar jataata hi nahin phir bhi tum mujhse itna pyaar kyun karti ho, Taani?", Anurag asked again in the same soft voice as before.
Taani touched Anurag's cheek and said lovingly, "Jab aap se pyaar hua, tab maine kabhi bhi yeh expect nahin kia tha ke aap bhi mujhse pyaar kare."
Anurag touched Taani's hand on his cheek and taking her hand in his, he said, "Par aisa pyaar ka kya fayda jis mein sirf dukh aur taqleef mile?" Taani smiled and said, "Aap ke diye huye dard mein bhi aap ka pyaar chupa hota hain woh ussi pyaar se hi mujhe bohot pyaar hain."
Unable to control his feelings, Anurag pulled Taani in a tight, loving hug. Taani hugged him back. They closed their eyes and found peace in each others' arms, feeling each other's warmth.
Suddenly something struck Anurag's mind and he quickly pushed Taani away from her. "Kya hua?", Taani asked confusedly. Anurag said turning to the other side, "Taani, tum please jao yaha se." Taani was shocked. She asked, "Baat kya hain Anurag? Yeh achanak aap ko kya ho gaya?"
Anurag turned his face to Taani and said painfully, "Hum kabhi ek nahin ho sakte Taani. We can never be together." Taani was shocked. She stepped closer to Anurag and asked, "Par kyun hum ek nahin ho sakte? Aakhir aisi kaunsi cheez hain jo aab tak aap ko mere paas aane se rok rahi hain?"
Anurag folded his hands in front of Taani and said pleadingly, "Taani, main binti kar raha hoon tumse, please go. Phir se kuch aisa ho jaaye jo nahin hona chahiye, usse pehele tum jaao yaha se. Please, main tumhare saamne haath jod ta hoon."
Seeing Anurag in that condition, Taani ran outside sobbingly. Anurag felt his pain taking the power of his body. At last, he lost his balance, fell on the floor, cried his heart out and said, "Taani, main nahin chahta ke mere past ka saaya bhi tumpar padhe. Iss liye humara durr rehena hi tumhare liye accha hain."
