Chapter 15
The bright rays of the sun came inside Taani's room through the window and fell on her beautiful face. She moved her eyes and brought her hand in front of her face to prevent the sunlight from disturbing her sleep. Anurag, who was sleeping so close to her, moved in his sleep which made Taani open her eyes. She, at first, looked at Anurag's hand on her waist and then at her face. "He looks too cute in his sleep.", she thought and shyly smiled.
Anurag cuddled up more to Taani and held her very tight. Taani smiled at this cute act of Anurag and tried adjusting herself in a sitting position. But she failed. She turned her face to Anurag and softly called him putting her hand on his forehead, "Anu!"
Anurag opened his eyes slowly. Taani smiled as he was looking just like a baby. They shared an eye-lock for a moment. Taani kissed Anurag on his cheek and said smilingly, "Good morning!" Anurag sweetly smiled and said, "Good morning!"
"Anu, mujhe uthna hain.", Taani said as Anurag was gazing at her. "Toh uth naa!", Anurag said still lost in Taani's eyes. Taani smiled teasingly and said, "Tu apna haath hataayega tabhi toh main uthungi." Anurag confusedly looked at Taani and then finally he realized that his hand was on Taani's waist. He quickly moved his head.
Taani smiled and adjusted herself in a sitting position. Anurag sat too beside her. Suddenly the worry lines were shown on Taani's face. She said, "Pata nahi aaj ka yeh suraj ki roshni humare liye khushiya lekar aayegi ya dukh."
Anurag touched Taani's cheek and made her look at him. "Kaali maa pe bharosa rakh. Sab theek ho jayega." Taani nodded at Anurag's assurance and hugged Anurag. Anurag hugged her back and after a while, he said "Chal aab uth! Court bhi toh jaana hai." Saying that, he got up from bed and went to his room. Taani sighed and went to the washroom to change.

Mayank and Nupur were sleeping peacefully in each others' arms sitting beside the window. Suddenly Nupur began to shiver in her sleep.
"Mayank, aap mujhe chod kar nahi jaa sakte. Mayank, please rukh jaaiye."
Mayank woke up as he realized Nupur shivering and blabbering something in her sleep. He stared at her worriedly and said, "Nupur! Nupur! Tu theek toh hain naa!"
Nupur said in her sleep, "Please Mayank ko mat le jaaiye. Main mar jaayungi inke bina. Please leave him!" Mayank felt emotional seeing Nupur like that. He shook her to bring her back to her senses. Nupur opened her eyes in shock and within a nano second, she hugged Mayank tightly. "Aap theek toh hain naa Mayank?", she said taking heavy breaths due to her fear because of the nightmare.
"Nupur main theek hoon. Samhaal apne aap ko.", Mayank said concernedly hugging her back. Nupur broke the hug and looked at Mayank. Mayank could see the fear of losing someone very dearest in Nupur's eyes. She was sweating, crying due to fear of losing him. Realizing that, his eyes became teary.
Nupur touched Mayank's cheeks and said with shivered voice, "Mayank, thank god ke aap theek hain." Saying that, she hugged her again. Tears flowed from Mayank's eyes. He broke the hug and said lovingly looking deeply in Nupur's eyes, "Nupur plz tu aise tension mat le. Main theek hoon. Plz tu samhaal khud ko. Main tujhe aise nahi dekh sakta. Tune jo dekha woh sirf ek sapna tha, haqeeqat nahi. Iss liye plz chinta mat kar."
Nupur nodded with teary eyes and hugged Mayank again. Mayank hugged her back and kissed on her forehead. "I love u Mayank!", Nupur said slowly feeling herself lost in Mayank's arms. "I love u too!", Mayank said to Nupur and encircled her in his strong arms even more tightly.

Taani, Anurag, Mayank and Nupur met at the dinning room. "Ready?", Mayank said. Everyone nodded. Mayank realized Taani, who was standing near the main doorway, lost in her own thoughts. He went to her.
Mayank shook Taani holding her arm. Taani jerked out of her thoughts and said, "Tune kuch kaha bhai?" Mayank said, "Nahi par tu kis chinta mein khoyi hai?" Taani looked nervous. She said, "Woh bhai, actually.." Mayank cut her off and said, "Samajh gaya ke tu kya soch rahi hai. Arey yaar Taani, tu toh meri bahadur behen hai naa, phir tu itna kyun darr rahi hai? Fikar mat kar. Mujhe kuch nahi hoga." Saying that, he pulled her in a brotherly hug. Taani hugged him back and said, "Mujhe upar waale pe pura bharosa hai. Woh aap ko kuch nahi hone denge."
Anurag and Nupur stood near the dinning table witnessing the siblings' love of Mayank and Taani. Coincidently Anurag turned his face towards Nupur. Seeing the tears on Nupur's eyes, Anurag said holding Nupur by her arms, "Kaali maa par bharosa rakh Nupur. Woh tere pyaar ko kuch nahi hone denge."
Nupur turned her face towards Anurag with shocked expression. Anurag slightly smiled and said, "Tujhe kya laga? Mujhe kuch pata nahi chalega?" Nupur shook her head in confusion. Anurag said playfully hitting Nupur on her head, "Main tera bada dada hoon Nupur. Mujhe pata nahi lagega toh aur kise lagega. Jis tarah se tu Mayank ki parwaa karti hai usse toh saaf pata chalta hai ke tu usse bohot pyaar karti hai n believe me,he's perfect for u." "Aww dada!", Nupur said and hugged Anurag.
After the hugging session, Nupur and Anurag went up to Mayank and Taani. Anurag said, "Humhe der ho rahi hai. Chalte hai." Everyone nodded and they left for the court.

Scene shifts at the court room. The defense n the prosecution lawyer were preparing their files. Mayank was standing in the criminal box and the rest three was sitting in between the people on the first bench. All four were damn worried. But Mayank, trying to hide his worry, looked at Anurag,Nupur and Taani and gestured them by his eyes to be relax and easy. The judge came.
The prosecution lawyer stood up and said,"My lord,Mayank Sharma jo ki Mumbai ke wanted criminals mein se ek hai,finally police ke giraft mein aa gaya.Inhone kaafi saare choriya aur smuggling bhi kiya hai."
Mayank looked at the prosecution lawyer with shocked expressions. "Smuggling?! Maine smuggling nahi kiya.", Mayank said in his defense.
Anurag,Nupur and Taani looked shocked. "Oh really Mr.Mayank Sharma! Accha,ek baat bataaiye,aap ke aap ke adde mein aap ka ek room hai,haina?", the prosecutor asked. "Haan! Hain, toh?", Mayank said. "Toh phir waha se police ko drugs se bhare huye briefcases kaise mile?, the prosecutor shouted.
"Kya? Kya bakwaas kar rahe aap?", Mayank shouted. "Order! Order!", the judge said. "Mr.Mayank Sharma,aap ko bolne ka mauka diya jaayega." The judge said again and Mayank calmed down.
"Police ko Mayank ke adde waale room se drugs ke briefcases mile hai. Aur woh briefcases, yeh rahe!", the prosecutor said and showed the briefcases.
Mayank looked shocked. "Uss Sanjay Joshi ne mujhe phasaake khud kaha gayaab ho gaya. Apna saara gunaah mere sar pe daalkar.", he thought. He looked at Anurag,Taani and Nupur whose eyes showed him support and told him to have faith.
"Your witness please!", the prosecution said. The defense lawyer said, "My lord, mere client, Mayank Sharma ne kabhi bhi smuggling ka kaam nahi kia. Haan main maanta hoon ke unhone chori zarur ki thi. Par woh yeh kaam chodna chahte the. Iss baat ko saabith karne ke liye main Mayank Sharma ke dost Anurag Chatterjee ko bulaane ke liye izaajat chahunga."
"Izaajat hai.", the judge said. Anurag nervously looked at Taani who gestured him a thumbs up sign. Anurag came up to the witness box.
"So Mr.Anurag Chatterjee,pehele yeh bataaiye ke aap ke aur Mayank Sharma ke beech mein kaisa rishta hai?", the defense lawyer asked.
Anurag looked at Mayank emotionally who blinked his eyes in a way as if he wanted to tell him to be relax and fine. "Jee woh, 2 mahine pehele main aur meri behen Nupur Calcutta se Mumbai aaye the,apna sapna pura karne. Tabhi humari mulaakat hui Mayank aur uski behen Taani se. Unhone humhe rehena ki jagaah di aur dekhte hi dekhte hum chaaro mein bohot gehri dosti ho gayi. 1 hafte pehele jab main aur Taani ghar vaapas aaye toh Nupur... (Anurag narrated the whole story about how he and Mayank were injured)"
"Thanks Mr.Anurag. U may go now.", the defense lawyer said. "Toh Anurag Chatterjee ke statement se yeh saaf zaahir hota hai ke mere client Mayank yeh kaam chodna chahte the jiske vajah se unpar attack hua. Aur raha sawaal uss drugs ke packets ka,toh woh Mayank k room mein baad mein rakkha gaya tha usse fasaane ke liye. Yeh saabit karne ke liye main Sameer ko bulaane ki izaajat chahunga jo ki unn logo mein se ek hai jisne Mayank aur Anurag ki yeh haalat ki hai."
"Izaajat hai.", the judge said. One of the goon who wanted to kill Mayank in the hospital came up to the witness box. "Sameer,the great smuggler and Sanjay Joshi's right hand man,right?", the defense lawyer asked politely. "Haan!", Sameer replied. "Accha toh aao yeh bataaiye Sameer ke woh drugs ke packets jo ki Mayank ke room mein se mila hai,woh kiske hai? Aur haan,jhoot bolne ki koshish kiya toh pakhde jaayenge.", the defense asked. "Woh packets Mayank ke room mein se mile hai toh obviously Mayank ke hi honge.", Sameer replied nervously.
"Accha? Toh phir theek hai. Hum forensic doctor se pooch lete hai ke agar Mayank ke room mein se woh drugs ke packets Mayank ke hai toh uss packets par AAPKE FINGER PRINTS KAISE MILE.", the defense shouted.
"Mere finger prints? IMPOSSIBLE!" ,Sameer stammered.
The defense shouted, "IMPOSSIBLE KYUN?"
"KYUKI WOH PACKETS MAYANK KE HAI!"
"AAP JHOOT BOL RAHE HAI SAMEER! TOH FINGER PRINTS AAP KE HAI."
"PAR MERE KAISE HO SAKTE HAI.. MAINE TOH GLOVES PEHENKE..."
Sameer stopped as he realized what he said. The defense smiled and said, "That's it! Thank you Mr.Sameer for confessing!" Sameer frowned.
"Toh isse saaf prove hota hai ke mere client Mayank Sharma smuggler nahi hai.", the defense said.
The prosecutor interrupted,"Par woh ek chor toh haina. Usske liye usse sazaa zarur milni chahiye.Bohot badi badi choriya ki hai unhone."
"Haan main maanta hoon ke mere client ne choriya ki hai par adaalat ke rule ke anusaar agar koi criminal jurm ka raasta chodna chahe aur sarkaari gavaah bankar gavaahi dena chahe toh unki sazaa maaf ho jaati hai ya phir kam ho jaati hai. Aur Mayank ne sab kuch kehe diya hai Sanjay Joshi aur uske illegal business ke baade mein. Yeh raha woh file jis mein woh sab kuch hain.", the prosecutor said and handed over the file.
The judge checked the file and said,"Iss mein toh kaafi saari information hain."
The prosecutor said,"Yes my lord! Aur issi liye main adaalat se binti karunga ke woh Mayank Sharma ko kari se kari sazaa naa de."
The juges finally gave his decision saying, "Saare gavaah aur sabuto ko dhyaan mein rakhte huye yeh adaalat iss natije mein pohochti hai ke Mayank Sharma aab saare bure kaam chod diye hai,par jaise ki sab jaante hai ke unhone pehele bohot badi badi chodiya ki hai,iss liye yeh adaalat Mayank Sharma ko 6 mahine ki sazaa sunaati hai."
Mayank took a sigh of relief thinking that the punishment wasn't too long. He was mentally prepared for this. But Anurag,Taani and Nupur looked shocked. It seemed like someone snatched the earth beneath their feet.
The judge continued,"Aur Sanjoy Joshi ko jald se jald dhundhne ka hukum sunaati hai aur unke illegical business mein baaki saare criminals ko 7 saal ki sazaa sunaati hai. The court is adjourned.
