hey guys so im back with the part 12. first of all i would like to apologise for such a delay but honestly i wrote the update 5 days ago but i didnt liked the way it was going. so i deleted everything and started from a fresh start. so thats what took me so long.

and second thing i want to talk about is that i'm not satisfied with the pace at which the story is moving. it is going so slow. by now it should have gone in present but its nowhere close to going into present..

so from the next update onwards i'm gonna fast forward the story a little bit. ofcourse i will give all the important scenes but all other stuff i'm gonna edit it. and do tell me if you are happy with my this decision...😊

Part 12

Maan walks towards the gate and Geet goes inside.

The moment she enters inside and closes the door, Maan looks back at the closed door.

And smiles evilly.

And leaves.

GEET IN HER ROOM

Geet took a shower and wears her night suit.

She comes out and stands in the balcony.

She plays all the events of today in her mind. The rehearsal scene with Vicky made her blush again. Then she remembers Maan's taking over Khurana Arts and her eyes narrows at the thought.

His stupid rules, the way he made her work so hard, how heavy those lights were; and anger started building up in her.

Then she looks at the cut on her hand that she got from those stupid lights, and suddenly she remembers the way she had behaved with him when he has helped her with the lights.

"Geet, tujhe kya ho gaya tha? Why did you do that?" and she remembers the way he was coming close to her. She relived the moment all over again.

And her heart started fluttering in her chest remembering the moment.

And she snaps back at herself and says "Geet, have you gone mad? Just forget about whatever happened! It was just a weak moment and you get carried away into it! That's it!!! Just remember this that how he treated you whole day! Khadoos kahin ka!!"

She remembers the walk with him and tries to reason with herself while playing with her fingers nervously "Par--- dekha jaaye to---- woh itna bhi bura nahin hai! I mean, he did help me right? And whatever happened between us" she closes her eyes as to forget the moment somehow "he never mentioned once while we were coming home. Maybe he is kinda nice person"

Geet realizes what she has said and the other part of her brain says "Geet, what are you saying? Maan Singh Khurana and nice?!"

And she again tries to reason herself "Yeah! He did help me. And whatever he's doing for Vicky, that shows he's a nice brother! Maybe I had jumped on an opinion about him too fast. Maybe I should give him a chance! I mean I'm not gonna marry him" as she remembers his teasing her about marriage stuff "but we can be friends right? Yeah!"

And she get into bed and soon went to sleep.

Next morning she opens her eyes with the alarm on her phone.

She looks at the time and date on her phone and suddenly she remembers something and sits straight up.

Her eyes brightens up and a smile comes on her lips and she says to herself

"Happy Birthday Geet!!!"

She gets up and went to the washroom.

While taking a shower, a sudden thought came in her mind and she thinks 'why didn't maa and dad called me yet to wish me???!!!'

She frowns at the thought because her parents have never forgotten her birthday ever. They have always wished her at midnight for all the past 19 years.

And this is such an important birthday, as she has left behind her teen years today and entered into the first day of her twenties.

She thought that maybe because of the time difference between London and india, that they might have got late in wishing her.

And she gets busy in getting dressed up. She tried all her beautiful dresses on and then discarded them. She wanted to look prettiest today. After all how many times does someone turns twenty!

And then she remembers about the dress she bought 2 days ago with Vicky and picks it up which was still lying in the shopping bag.

With the name of Vicky, she remembers about him and then about Maan and her decision of giving him a chance to be friends.

She took the dress to the washroom and came out wearing it. She looks at the time and it was already 10:30 and she was half hour late for work.

But she shakes off the thought and gets busy in getting dressed up.

She curls her hair into big loose curls and tie them into a side ponytail while letting some of front tresses of hair to fall gently on her face.

She puts on light eye makeup as she never liked to put on heavy or dark eye makeup. Just eyeliner and mascara. She puts on red lip gloss.

And then she checks her reflection in the mirror satisfactorily.

She was looking like an angel. Ofcourse an angel in black! But no beauty in the world was even close to hers today.

After being satisfied with her look, she went downstairs ready to receive birthday wishes from pinky and her relatives.

When she went down, pinky and her cousin were watching tv, while her uncle has already gone to work and her aunt was busy in kitchen.

When they saw Geet, all they wished her was 'morning'

Geet frowns at them, thinking that nobody remembers her birthday??

She wasn't expecting much from pinky's relatives, but pinky?! She has been her best friend since childhood, and she forgot her birthday!

She felt her appetite dying from disappointment. So she leaves for work without eating anything.

She was so mad at everybody. Her parents had forgotten her. It was already 12 pm and they haven't called her even once to wish her birthday.

She thought 'they don't love me anymore. How can they do this to me? Just because I've come to India, that I'm not near to them, they have forgotten me. And pinky! She's my best friend! And she's also forgotten my birthday. How can they do this to me?'

And she reaches office while feeling very depressed and angry.

She was about to go and talk to Anjali about something when she heard an angry voice behind her.

"Miss Geet Handa."

She looks back and saw Maan standing there fuming in anger.

Geet says in her mind 'ab ise kya ho gaya??!' [now what has happened to him]

Maan comes towards her and says angrily "Yeh office hai, koi park nahin hai, jo tum jab jee chahe kaam pe aaogi. Have you looked at the time?" [this is office, not a park, that u'll come on work as u please]

Geet frowns at him and all her resolutions of being friends with him went down the gutter with his words.

He continues "You are two hours late. And Maan Singh Khurana do not tolerate late comers!"

Geet was already in a very bad mood. It was her birthday and nobody has wished her till now and now he is shouting at her.

"So what are you gonna do now? Fire me?" she says angrily looking into his eyes.

"You know what, be my guest! Go ahead and do whatever you want! Because honestly, I. Don't. Care!!!" she finished.

Maan says looking into her eyes angrily "Attitude huh? Ek to tum galti karti ho, aur upar se mujhe, Maan Singh Khurana ko attitude de rahi ho! What do you think, that its so easy to leave this place?" he smiles evilly "No miss Geet Handa! I'm not gonna fire you! But you'll set an example for everyone over here, that how Maan Singh Khurana punishes those who comes late on work."

Geet narrows her eyes on him and says"Oh yeah? And do you think I'll stand over here with my head down and follow your orders? No Mr. Maan Singh Khurana, you are hugely mistaken. I'm not your puppet ke tum kahoge nacho, to main naachungi!"

"Naachna to tumhein padega! Warna woh raha darwaza, aur nikal jaao yahaan se!"

"Fine!" Geet says while looking into his eyes and was about to leave when she heard him say

"But before going, give your resignation along with 5 crore rupees." He said while folding his arms around his chest.

"I'm not resigning, you have fired me!" she said frowning.

"No I didn't." he said with an evil smile "I think you should keep your job contract with you at all times, because you keep on forgetting its clauses. In its 4^th clause, its clearly written, that you cant deny to your boss of any work, no matter how small is the work! And if you wont do it, your boss, that is me, can ask you to resign from this job!" he finishes with an evil grin.

"So sweetheart, its your choice! Either do your work properly, or resign!"

Geet was so angry that she was ready to go with the second option. She thought that no one is worth this job. Not even Vicky. She did liked Vicky, but not as much that it'll give power to this jerk to rule over her.

5 crores was not a big amount for her dad. She decided that she'll ask her dad for money, and damn the consequences.

She was gonna tell this to him when he picks up a big bundle of pamphlets from the ground and put it on the chair nearby and says

"Now go stand outside and distribute these pamphlets to the passers by." He says with a smile thinking that she will definitely choose her job.

Geet was gonna tell him that she's resigning when an idea struck her and she says

"Ok"

And picks up the bundle and goes out.

As soon as she goes out, she calls Vicky and says

"Vicky when are you coming back? Your Hitler brother is getting on my nerves! Do you even know what kind of work he's making me do? Kal, saara din mujhse majdoori karwai usne! And today, he's making me distribute pamphlets for the show!!" she said with a cry face

Then continues angrily "I'm telling you Vicky, come fast; or else you'll find just one of us alive. Because either I'm gonna commit suicide or I'm gonna murder him. Well, the chances of your not finding your raavan brother is more!!" she says enjoying at the thought in her mind of killing Maan.

Vicky laughs at her threat and promises her that he is trying to come fast as soon as he can.

She hangs up the phone and says to herself "What does he think? That I, Geet Handa, will stand here and distribute these pamphlets whole day!! Oh no Mr. Maan Singh Khurana, you don't know me yet. I'm not ruining my birthday for your stupid pamphlets."

Then she smiles and says "thankyou so much Maan, that you have sent me outside. Now I will go and enjoy my day. And you will think that I'm distributing these stupid pamphlets!!"

She picks up the bundle and throws it in the garbage bin and says smiling "Goodbye my so-called punishment! This is called killing two birds with one stone!!" she smiles evilly.

Suddenly she feels someone's presence few feet away from her and when she looks towards her side, her eyes popped open in fear and shock.

Maan Singh Khurana was standing there with his arms crossed on his chest and frowning angrily on Geet.

Geet fakes a little laugh in nervousness and then her expressions changes into fear.

Maan started walking towards her slowly with a death stare in his eyes.

Geet swallows her saliva in fear and looks down.

She felt as if she has been caught by the principal for doing something wrong and now he's gonna call her parents! And trust me, she has been through that experience before...

Her heartbeats have fastened at an abnormal rate out of fear. She tries to control it without any success.

She again looks at him and he has reached close to her. She holds her breath in fear and looks at him.

He says in a controlled anger "Miss Geet Handa, in my cabin. Right now."

And he goes inside.

Geet breathes out in a little relief and realizes that she has been holding her breath in fear.

She says to herself "Geet, don't be scared! He cant say anything to you. You have already decided that you will leave this job, so it doesn't matter if he saw you throwing these pamphlets."

She looks up and says to babaji "Kya babaji aap bhi na! koi ishara hi kar dete, ke woh rakshash wahaan khada hai. To main woh pamphlets tabhi nahin fenkti na!" she makes an angry face and says "uske jaane ke baad fenk deti" [what babaji! Cudnt u give me some signal that he was standing there. So I couldn't have thrown the pamphlets at that time. Would have thrown after he has gone]

And then she realizes something and says "in a way it's a good thing that he saw you. Maybe he'll fire you now. So you don't even have to tell dad anything about it. Hai na? haan."

And she goes inside.

She knocks the door of Maan's cabin and enters.

Now she wasn't scared anymore.

Maan says angrily "Miss Geet Handa. You think this is all a joke? I asked you to distribute those pamphlets, not to throw them in the garbage."

Geet stares at him coldly and said indifferently "So?"

Maan was surprised at her behavior. He said angrily.

"So? So now you leave me with no other option. Now you'll see what a boss is!!"

He takes out a bundle of cards from cabinet and puts them on the table and says

"Bohat shouq hai na tumhein baahar jaane ka, to jaao! Now you will personally distribute these thankyou cards to all who have attended our last show. You will go to their homes, give them the cards, and yes! You'll take their signatures on this file that they have received the cards, so that you cant throw these cards in garbage this time." He finished with a smirk.

Maan is about to go out when he heard her saying "Sorry."

He looks back at her thinking that shes apologizing for throwing the pamphlets.

Geet crosses her arms on her chest understanding what he might have thought the meaning of her sorry and she says "I cant do this!"

He said while anger building up in him "Excuse me? Tum mujhe naa keh rahi ho? Mujhe? Maan Singh Khurana ko? Maybe you are forgetting that I'm your boss; and whatever work I give you, you have to do it."

"Fine!" she says with an air of confidence. "If this is what you want, then let it be! I QUIT!!!" she finishes with a smile.

Maan was not expecting this. He hasn't thought that she would really quit this job. Before Maan could say something, Geet says smiling.

"and don't worry, you'll get your 5 crores by tomorrow!"

She's about to go, when she heard him saying

"To aakhir tumne haar maan hi li!" [so at last u hv accepted ur defeat!]

And she stops in her steps.

A victorious smile came on Maan's face. He knew this trick never fails.

Geet looks at him and he says "I knew you never had enough guts to stand against me. But I didn't knew that you'll accept your defeat so soon!" he taunts her.

"Its ok miss Geet Handa, I free you from that contract. You don't have to pay anything. Maan Singh Khurana haare huye logon se nahin ladta!!" and he smiles mischieviously [msk doesn't fight with losers]

Geet narrows her eyes and says

"You are mistaken Mr. Maan Singh Khurana, because neither I'm scared nor I've lost. Its not over yet! And I'm not going anywhere. Jaaoge to ab tum yahaan se, aur woh bhi haar kar!!"[u will b the one who'll leave from here and that too after loosing]

He smiles tauntingly and picks up the bundle of cards and offers it to her and says "All the best!"

Geet glares back and takes the bundle from his hand and goes out.

Maan looks at her walking and smiles satisfactorily.

Geet goes out while cursing him under her breath "Ghamandi kahin ka! What does he think, that I cant do this? I'll show you Mr. Zaalim Singh Khurana, that I can do anything better than you!"

And she looks at the bundle of cards in her hands and she makes a cry face and says "There goes my birthday! Itne saare cards ko baant-te baant-te to raat ho jaayegi! Aur mujhe to yahaan ke raaste bhi nahin pata!"

Ans she is about to go when she heard someone calling her name.

"Geet!"

She looks back and saw vivek coming towards her.

"Hey Vivek, what's up?" she said

"Geet , I heard Maan asked you to distribute thank you cards to all the people of our last show. So I was wondering, do you need any help?" he asks her concerned.

Geet says smiling sweetly at him "Thanks Vivek. That's very sweet of you. I would really appreciate it if you can come with me."

Geet decided to take Vivek with her for 2 reasons. First and the primary one, she doesn't know the streets and places in Mumbai very well. And second, she doesn't want to spend the remaining day of her birthday roaming alone on the streets. She thought if nothing else, Vivek could give her company.

That was her biggest mistake. Vivek was the worst company ever. He was boring like hell. At times he talked non-stop without any reason. And at times he was so silent that geet had to look if he was still walking behind her.

He was a science person. He talked about stuff that was running over Geet's head. Geet was bored like hell but she didn't say anything to him because he knew all the shortcuts of the city. It was just 4.00 pm and they have already distributed more than half of the cards.

But his knowledge of the city didn't make him less boring. Geet came on a conclusion that it was her worst birthday ever. Nobody has wished her till now, not even her parents, she had a fight with that khadoos, and she was stuck with this bore! God, can this birthday be more worse??!!!!

For most of her journey, she cursed Maan in her head to escape from the torture of Vivek. And to her surprise, it really made her feel good to curse Maan in her head...

'Dusht Daanav, Khadoos, Sadu, don't know what he thinks of himself. Thinks himself to be some king or what?! Geet, you have to think something fast. You cant let him win every time. You have to do something. Just one chance, and he'll know who he has messed up with. You have to pay for ruining my birthday Mr. Gabbar Singh Khurana. I'm not gonna leave you so easily!!'

And she went on and on with cursing him in her head.

It was 7 o clock when she reached office after distributing all the cards.

When she entered the office, it was pitch dark inside. The first thought that came to her mind was if everyone has gone home.

And suddenly the light came on and everybody screams

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!"

For a second Geet doesn't realize what is happening, and then her eyes adjusted to what she was looking at.

The whole theatre was decorated in blue and white. There were balloons and flowers all around. All the chairs were decorated with ribbons and frills. And everybody was standing in the middle of the stage with a table decorated beautifully and a huge cake sitting on it.

All in all, it was the most pleasant surprise Geet has ever had. Geet has been so sad for the whole day, thinking that nobody remembered her birthday; and after the bad day, the feeling of getting a surprise party was awesome!!!

Geet went inside and she saw pinky standing with other people and she thought that pinky has arranged this party.

"Happy Birthday Geet" she heard someone wishing her from behind her.

She looked back and saw Maan standing with a huge bouquet of flowers in his hand and a smile on his lips.

The anger that has been building up in geet for the whole day came out as she looked at him.

She forgot all about the party for a second and all she remembered was that he has ruined her whole day.

She said angrily "You!!" she goes forward and puts the file in his hand that she has taken signatures on and said "Here you go sir!" she stressed the word sir angrily "And what did you said? Happy Birthday?!" she scoffed and continues "Wishes doesn't look nice from someone's mouth that has ruined my whole birthday!!! What do you think of yourself?"

She didn't realize that she has started shouting at him and everybody was looking at them. All she cared was that she was taking all her anger and frustration out on him.

"Do you really think that I care about your stupid wishes? After last night, I thought I might have misjudged you. But I was wrong. My first opinion about you was right! You are the biggest jerk I've ever came across!"

Maan looks behind geet and saw everyone looking at them and he closes his hands in fists in anger and insult.

"You've ruined my whole birthday!! I have been roaming on the streets for the whole day just because of you!!" she finishes while clenching her teeth in frustration.

Maan stares at her embarrassed from being insulted and then again looked back at the spectators and just leaves from there. he was so mad at her that he feared that he might hit her any second, but he controlled himself and went, don't want to see her face anymore.

Geet stood there fuming in anger and looked back at everyone was staring and she realized that she has insulted him in front of everyone. But to her surprise, she didn't feel good about it. In fact, she actually felt bad for him.

She goes to pinky and says "Thankyou Pinky. Thanks for this party. I'm very happy that you've done so much for me" she tried to smile but didn't felt happiness inside.

Pinky says "Geet, I didn't do this!"

Geet looks at her surprised "What?"

"Yeah, actually last night your boss called me. He said he's planning for a surprise party for you. So requested that no one should wish you birthday. He also asked me to ask your parents not to wish you."

Geet couldn't believe it. She asks shocked "Maan?"

"Yes, Maan. You did wrong to him geet. You shouldn't have insulted him like this in front of everyone."

Now geet was feeling very bad on what she has done.

"He's been preparing this party since morning. He sent you out so that he can do the preparations." Pinky finished.

"And he was the one who sent me with you." Geet looked back and saw Vivek standing there and he has heard pinky and geet's conversation. "He knew you don't know the places over here. So he sent me after you."

Now geet was feeling terrible. She was regretting that she has insulted him and when he was the one who has given her this surprise!

She looked around for him and saw him sitting alone in the corner with a drink in his hand.

She runs towards him and stops few feet away from him.

Maan saw her standing there but looked away.

Geet doesn't know what to say. She was always very bad at saying sorry.

She clears her throat to get his attention. He looks at her and she fakes a smile but he looks away again.

So she says sweetly "Maan!" but this time he doesn't look back at her.

So she again says sweetly but this time a little louder "Maan!"

Maan gives her an angry glare and she gets scared but says "I'm sorry!?" she said doubtfully making a baby face.

But Maan said angrily "What are you doing here Miss Geet Handa? You should be enjoying your birthday. Don't waste your time on me! I don't want to ruin your precious birthday anymore. So just go away!!"

He looks away to control his anger. Geet was near tears.

"Maan, I'm really sorry. I didn't know you were planning this party for me! Please forgive me!! I shouldn't have talked to you like that. Please Maan!!!!" tears have started welding up in her eyes.

Maan looks at her and saw unshed tears in her eyes. Maan's expressions changed a little and he said "So you really want me to forgive you huh?"

Geet nods.

"So what can you do to get my forgiveness?" he asked playfully.

Geet's eyebrows mashed up in confusion and she asks him confusedly

"What you want me to do?"

"Well that depends on how desperate are you?" he said in a husky voice.

Geet saw mischief in his eyes and a little smile came on her lips realizing that he is no more mad at her.

So her mood also became playful and she moved closer to him and stroked her hand on his face seductively and whispers "Sorry Mr. Maan Singh Khurana, I'm not gonna do anything."

Maan felt a million emotions pass through him with her touch. He felt like taking her in his arms and hugging her tight. He closed his eyes as his heartbeats fastened.

And suddenly she moved away and he felt her touch moving away. He opened his eyes and saw geet standing few feets away smiling at him mischieviously.

He couldn't take the distance between them. He pulled her towards him with a jerk taking her into his arms. Geet gets shocked with a sudden pull.

Maan wraps around his arms around her waist and says mischieviously looking at her eyes and then at her mouth and back at her eyes "Well then, I'm not forgiving you."

Geet wasn't scared anymore and she said playfully while a smile playing at the corner of her lips "Oh really! I know you will!!"

"And how can you be so sure?" he asks her faking innocence while still his arms wrapped around her.

Geet says playfully "Because I know you cant stay angry with your would be wife forever!!!" and she smiles mischievously.

Maan was very surprised. And in his surprise he left her. He wasn't expecting this. He never thought that she could tease him about this marriage stuff.

Even geet was surprised at herself. She just wanted him to forgive her, that's why she said it.

Maan smiles at her and she smiles back.

Geet says while offering her hand out to him "Friends?"

Maan takes her hand smiling and geet says "Cummon lets cut the cake. I'm very hungry."

"Tum chalo, main aata hoon."

Geet leaves him and goes towards her friends to cut the cake.

Maan says with intensity in his voice to himself while looking at the retreating form of geet

"Welcome to Maan Singh Khurana's trap Miss Geet Handa!!!"

And he smiles evilly and gets up and goes towards geet.

wow. tht was really nice one. i liked how maan tortured her with cards n pamphlets. and then the bday oh god. i smell ever lasting trap and danger hey but not for geet but for maan as he would b the one to woo her later on when she would turn her back n leave him miserable. continue soon dear
