Chapter Nine - New Twist
Next morning, Anurag, in a formal dress-up, was sitting at the dinning table and waiting for his breakfast.
"Nupur, jaldi kar naa! Mujhe late ho raha hai. Job dhundne bhi toh jaana hai." Anurag said to Nupur in a loud tone.
"Bas 2 minute, dada!", Nupur yelled out from the kitchen. She was preparing parathas for Anurag.
Anurag made annoying expressions and looked to the other side. Suddenly something caught his eyes and he turned his face toward the window. Sun lights were coming inside through the window and a breeze of air was blowing, too. Taani was standing there with her long hairs on one side of her shoulder. She was drying her hairs in the sun light. Her hairs were blowing along with the wind. It was a beautiful sight to see! Anurag gazed her beauty and a cute broad smile curved on his face. He kept staring at Taani which was not unnoticed by her. As soon as she saw Anurag constantly gazing at her, she blushingly smiled. Both shared a cute eye-lock with cute smiles on their faces.
Nupur came to Anurag with a trey of parathas and dal and saw Anurag-Taani constantly gazing at each other. She smiled teasingly. Once she looked at Anurag and then she looked at Taani. Seeing Taani, she thought in her mind, "Taani ka "woh" kahin Anu Da toh nahin? Lag toh yehi raha hai!"
"Ahem Ahem!", Nupur interrupted! Anurag and Taani came out of their dream land. Both looked uneasy and nervous. Taani ran to her room. Nupur laughed seeing that. She looked at Anurag who was pretending to be busy. She came to him. "Dada! Aap ka breakfast!", said Nupur in a teasing manner. She was trying hard to suppress her laughter. Anurag noticed that. "Haan! De! Bohot bhukh lagi hai.", said Anurag nervously. Nupur was smiling in a teasing way. "Tu aise idiot ki tarah has kyun rahi hai? Jaa apna kaam kar.", ordered Anurag to Nupur. "Haan haan! Jaati hoon! Gussa kyun hote hai?", said Nupur and walked toward the kitchen. She turned back to Anurag and said, "Dada!" "Kya hai?", Anurag said annoyingly. Nupur smiled broadly, came to Anurag, hugged him from behind and said, "All the best!" Anurag smiled, kissed Nupur on her cheek and said, "Thanks meri pyaari behena!"

Taani was standing by her window, just when, she saw Anurag going out. She smiled. Anurag felt something and he looked up. He smiled back at Taani when he saw her smiling at him. Taani gestured him a thumbs up sign and said in a loud tone so that Anurag could hear, "Best of luck!" Anurag broadly smiled and said, "Thank you!" Saying that, he went out and Taani stood there smiling.

Nupur came to the kitchen and saw Mayank cutting vegetables. She was astonished. She came to him and said, "Arey aap yaha? Aur aap yeh sab kyun kar rahe hai? Main aur Taani hai naa yeh sab dekhne ke liye." Mayank smiled and said, "Jab mera mood bohot accha hota hai tab main yeh sab hi karta hoon!" Nupur was surprised and said, "Sacchi?" Mayank cutely said, "Mucchi!" Nupur laughed. Seeing Nupur laughing, Mayank laughed too. Laughing session went on, when suddenly Mayank screamed out, "Aaaouucchh!" Nupur saw that Mayank's finger was bleeding. Without saying a single word, she took his finger into her mouth and started sucking the blood that was bleeding. Mayank shockingly stared at Nupur but at last, he smiled. He started gazing his Nupur. "Mayank, aap bhi naa? Thoda saavdhaan nahin rahe sakte hai kya? Dekh liya naa kya hua?", said Nupur after sucking the blood from Mayank's injured finger. There was no response from Mayank! He was constantly gazing at Nupur with an amazing smile on his face. Nupur's touch made his heart beats fast. Mayank's constant gazing was surely noticed by Nupur. She felt uneasy and said, "Main abhi aati hoon." Saying that, she rushed to her room. Mayank smilingly saw her going to her room. Then he stared at his injured finger and kissed it. "She feels for me too!", said Mayank with a very broad smile.

Nupur was sitting on her bed and thinking about that moment. She felt something strange inside her. But that was not any bad feeling! That was actually giving her happiness. She was feeling happy and satisfied truly from her heart. She smiled and blushed. There was a knock at her door. Her heart started beating fast as she understood who the person was.
"Nupur, tujhse ek baat kehena chahta tha!", said Mayank in a serious tone. Nupur controlled her feelings and turned her face to Mayank. "Haan boliye!", she said. Mayank said, "Aaj main boss se baat karne jaa raha hoon. Please dua karna ki sab acchi tarah se ho jaaye." Nupur smiled and came near Mayank. Holding his right hand and said, "Don't worry! Sab theek se ho jaayega." Mayank smiled, put his left hand on Nupur's hand and said, "I hope so!" Saying that, he left! Nupur prayed, "Kaali Maa! Please Mayank ki help karna. Please!"

Anurag was walking on the streets with a file in his hands. He was smiling, as if his day was good. Suddenly, something caught his eyes and he looked up at a poster of a bar. He was shocked seeing Taani's photo in that poster.
He was dumbstruck seeing Taani's photo in a different avatar on a poster like this. Under the photo was written, "Guys! Do come to Rasiley Bar if you want to be seduced by the famous bar dancer Taani!" Reading that, Anurag was fuming with anger. He took a taxi and went off somewhere.

Anurag entered the Rasiley Bar and saw many people drinking and flirting with the bar dancers and the waitresses. He made angry and annoyed expressions. His eyes were searching for Taani. Just then, a girl in the bar announced, "All men! Be ready to be killed because here comes our sexy Taani!" Anurag stood there with anger, shock and sorrow. Taani came there and started dancing. Seeing her like this was too unexpected for Anurag. He was out of words because he didn't expect it from Taani. Seeing her dancing with those stupid drunkards made him angrier than before. He stormed out of the bar!

Taani was all set to go home when a drunkard started misbehaving with her. He was just going to touch Taani, just then, someone grabbed his hand who stood behind Taani. Taani turned back and was shocked to see Anurag there. She easily understood that Anurag was burning with anger by seeing his face. Anurag pushed Taani behind him and stared angrily at the drunkard. The drunkard said, "Abey kya dekh raha hai aise? Chal hat saamne se." Anurag replied angrily, "Abhi ke abhi yaha se dafaa ho jaa warna aisa haal karunga ke tu khud ko pehechanne ki layaak nahin rahega." He stared with burning anger at the drunkard. The drunkard got scared and ran away. "Anurag!", Taani said slowly. Without replying Taani, Anurag started walking to the taxi stand and Taani was following him. "Anurag, ek bar meri baat toh sun!", Taani said again. Once again, there was no response from Anurag. He kept walking with anger until he got a taxi. He sat inside it and remained quiet. Taani looked at him from outside. The taxi driver was about to go, when Anurag said, "Bhaia ek minute ruko!" Taani understood that Anurag wanted her to sit inside. She sat inside. Anurag said, "Andheri chalo!"

There was a complete silence on the way. Anurag was burning inside with anger and frustation and Taani was dying because of her guilt of hiding such a big truth from Anurag. Tears rolled down from Taani's eyes. Anurag didn't notice that - actually didn't bother to notice that! They were back to home. They came inside, when suddenly Nupur ran to Anurag and said, "Dada! Mayank ko bachaaiye! Woh log unhe maarr daalenge." Anurag and Taani were shocked. Taani said, "Kya? Kaun maarr daalega Nupur? Kaun bhai ko maarr daalega? Theek se bataao." Nupur was unable to speak because of fear. She just managed to speak, "Juhu mein ek purana go-down hai chemicals ki, waaha.." Without wasting a single time, Anurag ran out of the house to save Mayank. Nupur and Taani stood there shocked and worried.

An hour passed but still there was no news of Anurag and Mayank! Nupur and Taani were walking here and there with worried looks. Just then the phone rang. Taani quickly picked up the call. After a while, she said shockingly, "KYA?" The phone fell from her hand as she was shocked. Nupur saw that and asked Taani very worriedly, "Kya hua Taani? Kya hua?" Taani replied with shivering voice, "Bhai aur Anurag City Hospital mein.." Nupur was shocked.

Nupur and Taani came to City Hospital. They ran to the reception and Nupur said, "Yaha pe abhi abhi 2 patients aaye hain, woh dono kaha hai?" The nurse said, "Aap dono?" Taani replied, "Family members! Abhi please bataaiye woh dono kaha hai!" The nurse replied, "Woh dono OT mein hai aur OT yaha se bilkul last corner mein hai." "Thank you!", Nupur said. They ran to the OT and saw the doctor coming out. Both rushed to the doctor. Taani said, "Doctor, woh dono.." The doctor inquired, "Aap dono unn dono ke family members hai?" Nupur said, "Jee haan! Woh dono kaise hai? Jyada chot toh nahin aayi?" The doctor said, "Dekhiye main aap dono ko jhooti ummeed nahin de sakti. Unn dono ki haalat bohot critical hai. Operation karwaana padhega." Taani said, "Toh kijiye naa doctor." The doctor said, "Theek hai! Aap dono reception mein jaakar form bhar dijiye aur 50 thousand rupees pay kar dijiye." Nupur and Taani shockingly said, "50 THOUSAND?!"

Taani thought in mind worriedly, "Kahin se bhi itne paise nahin mil rahe hai." She remembered something all of a sudden and said, "Abhi bas ek hi raasta hai. Par main kaise! ... Kuch kar bhi toh nahin sakte. Agar Bhai aur Anurag ki jaan bachaani hai toh mujhe yeh kadaam uthana hi padhega. Sorry Bhai!"
