I wanted to thank you all sososo much for the awesome comments you left me, and thanks to everyone who hit the LIKE button on the post! 🤗

And before you say you're shocked seeing me here again, saying I have an update, don't worry, I'm surprising myself as well😆😉

I have an Extremely Important Question to ask everyone.

And I really hope you get a chance to read and answer this.

So the next update will be a pretty funny one, at least I think it will be😆😆 But, moving the story onwards, I have a relatively serious plot in mind. Not like tragic serious, there's still going to be sarcasm, comedy, etc, but it's not going to be as consistent as usual.

And my Question for YOU is do you still want me to go down the serious plot, or should I end the FF soon, without introducing any serious angle to it?

I really would love to know, so please don't hesitate in saying whatever you think about this :)

And the next chapter should be up in a few hours!

Cheers!
~Naina

plz don't end it love ur ff it's awesome i want u go on serious note as well as comedy i u done it so far

Chapter 17:

"Mr. Khurana, your wife is fine. This is all very normal during a pregnancy" Dr. Barnes explained after he checked out Geet, and made sure everything was ok.

Maan, however, still didn't completely believe him. "But..but the nausea, the medication, how can that be normal? That just cannot be healthy at all, throwing up everything she's eaten. There must be something you can give her to stop this, it must be hurting the baby."

Geet rolled her eyes as she listened to this conversation. Gosh, her husband lacked so much common sense at times. Why couldn't he just accept what the doctor said without continuously questioning it?

And apparently, Dr. Barnes was annoyed too, as he exasperatedly exclaimed, "Mr. Khurana, I'm a doctor. I do like to think that I know what I'm doing, and that I'm not hurting a patient's life. If you don't want to listen to me, then you should just go to another doctor. But I can definitely assure you that they'll say the same things as me."

A faint blush appeared on Maan's cheeks as he smiled sheepishly, embarrassed and nodded.

Dr. Barnes smiled, understanding the situation Maan was in, "It happens with all fathers, Mr. Khurana. Don't worry. I understand that you must be very anxious, considering that it has to do with your wife and your baby. But trust me, everything's fine for now. And she should just make sure she does the usual, goes to her checkups on time and so on."

Maan and Geet quickly exchanged a glance. Maan worried because of his wife and his baby? Geet could have laughed. It was obvious to her that he cared only about the baby. And no, she wasn't going to be mad about that. She didn't like Maan and he didn't like her. They were together because of her kid had Khurana blood running through him. The end.

Maan quickly looked back though, choosing not to dwell on the troubled, distant look that had come over Geet's face within the last few seconds.

Geet woke up from a little nap to find Maan pacing the hotel room back and front, and back and front.

"Maan" she called out, "You're going to burn a hole through the floor. Sit down!"

"Oh finally! You're awake Geet! I didn't want to wake you up before, but I have to make a quick run to the bookstore. I'll be back in an hour. Ok?" Maan asked, as he grabbed his jacket and began to put it on.

"The bookstore? Why?" came the confused response from his wife.

"I have to buy pregnancy books. I have no idea what's going on and it would be good if I read up on it, don't you think?"

Geet's eyes widened. Was this the same Mr. Grouchy-McGrouch that she had met in his office way back when?

"I want to go with you. Hold on!" She yelled out, as she slowly got up from the bed.

He quickly rushed over, helping her sit up, before he began to tell her why she couldn't go. "It's not healthy for you to leave. The doctor said you needed your rest. Geet, I will get the books and then we can sit and read them together. Ok?"

"Uh. No. It's ME who's pregnant. Don't you think I should have a say in which books you buy?"

"But that's just it! It is you who's pregnant. I don't know anything about pregnancy, so I'm the one that needs to read and so I should be the one to choose. You just rest, ok Geet?"

And with that, he turned around and headed towards the door of the hotel room. Just as he was about to open it, he heard a loud wail erupt behind him. He turned around to see his wife crying, tears rolling down her cheeks, her nose red from sniffling. And groaning he went to her side. "You're never going to let me do anything! I'm going to live in this bed for the next nine months! And if you could you would keep me here until the day I die." She sobbed hysterically, and Maan hurriedly assured her that he would take her with him, and bundled her up. He helped her wipe away her tears, and as soon as he turned away, Geet smiled cheekily. Oh the pros of being pregnant [;)]

"Geet! There are so many books here! Which ones should we get?!" Maan threw his hands in the air in utter confusion as he stared at the racks and racks of books under the pregnancy section.

"See, I knew you would need my help." She smirked as she browsed through the shelves, picking up an occasional book here and there and throwing it in Maan's hands.

"Wait, are you sure we won't need the The Pregnancy Bible? Oh! Oh! How about this one on the food that expectant mothers should eat?! I don't want the baby to be hurt or something because you might eat the wrong thing! What about The Modern Girls Guide to Motherhood?" When she turned to glare at him, he told her that because this was her first pregnancy, he would be happier if she had it.

She groaned, watching as he stacked about fifteen books one on top of another.

"Maan, honestly. I think the only book you really need is The Expectant Father. I can take care of myself relatively well and I'll choose the books that I think I'll need. But ONE book should definitely be more than enough for you." she said softly, placing her hand on his arm to stop him from picking up another book.

"But Geet-" he began to say, his voice actually filled with concern, but she stopped him.. Picking up The Expectant Father, she placed it in his hands, and shoved him into a corner of the store and into a chair, and ordered him to begin reading.

She needed a minute to herself.

Without her husband going all macho man on her.

Two hours later, as Maan and Geet went back to the hotel, Maan was filling his wife in on everything he had read in the book.

"Oh, by the way Geet, when's your next doctor's appointment?" He asked suddenly.

Geet quirked an eyebrow up. "It's sometime once we get back. Why?"

"Well you know, I'm going to come next time. It says in the expectant father book that you should always have someone with you when you go to these checkups, and who better than me?!" he smiled happily, as he guided her by the shoulder towards the elevator.

"Um. Dadi. She would definitely have no problems in coming with me. Or better yet, I can just ask Riddhima or Kripa. Riddhima's always at the hospital anyway and I'm sure Kripa wouldn't mind joining me. I sure don't want to disturb your work Mr. Maan Singh Khurana. Especially not because the book says you have to do it. The book is for people who want to be fathers, who want to be with their wives, not for people being forced into marriage and are suffering through it because of a sense of duty." She turned to glare at him, before she shoved his arms off her shoulder and raced into the waiting elevator.

Maan stood, frozen into place. Now what had caused that sudden shift in mood?

Before he could respond though, the receptionist came running towards him, calling out his name.

"Mr. Khurana!"

Maan turned around and acknowledged her, as she hurriedly confirmed that he was Mr. Maan Singh Khurana.

"Sir, someone left a message for you. A Mr. Angad Khanna from India. He said it was an emergency and asked you to call back as soon as possible. If there was any way of reaching you before, we would have done so." The receptionist told him, and tension seeped through his bones.

Angad called? And said it was an emergency?

Thanking the woman quickly, he raced upstairs, taking the stairs simply because he was too impatient to wait for the elevator.

"Geet. GEET! Stop being mad at me for whatever reason and open the damned door!" he yelled, knocking on the door, and waiting anxiously for her to open it.

And as soon as he did, he literally shoved her aside and raced to the phone and began dialing Angad's number. And Geet, angrier than ever, began marching toward him, all fired up and ready to yell once again, when she heard his voice, all urgent and panic filled. And she froze in her spot.

"Angad? What's going on? What's this emergency?!"

Geet saw his expressions grow more and more serious.

And when he finally hung up, he turned to look at her, and said, "Dadi's was in a car accident. She's in the hospital right now."
