Chapter 25 -A day at work

Maan walked into the foyer of Medicity hospital. He wore a maroon shirt with a black waistcoat, jacket and a black tie. His short sleeved tight shirt enhanced his biceps whereas his formal black trousers hinted at his long and lean form. Heads of patients, nurses and doctors turned looking at the handsome dashing man walking confidently towards the office of Dr Sood.

Maan met Adi at the front of office and they went to meet Dr Sood together. Dr Sood welcomed Maan warmly and gave him a brief overview of arrangements done for a new nemocytis ward and research facilities as agreed earlier.

A girl wearing a red dress which just reached her thighs knocked and entered Dr Sood's office. Her heels clicked on the floor as she walked forward. She had perfect makeup done and greeted everyone in the office with a perfect smile.

Dr Sood - "Dr Khurana, this is Nitya. She will be your personal assistant and will help in keeping your appointments and plans. She has lots of experience and hope you will be happy to work with her. She will show you around the facilities."

Maan ? "That's fine Dr Sood. Thanks for this and I will take leave now"

Maan shook hands and walked out of office with Adi; Nitya following both of them.

Nitya self thought ? "Yeh kaisa banda hai?meri taraf mudke bhi nahin dekha?well he is Dr Maan Singh Khurana?attitude to hoga hi?but I am going to get you handsome"

"Par yeh to hai that along with brains what a cute a**?God he is s**y or what"

Maan was oblivious to the thoughts of Nitya and other girls gaping at him. First of all he was used to all the attention but soon his no nonsense attitude will put them in line. Secondly his poor mind was busy in multitasking. Other than talking to Adi and taking in new environment, most part of it was still deeply involved in thinking about his Jaan?his Mishty?his Geet

Adi also took leave to do his rounds.

"So Ms. Nitya, can you please show me the basic ? OT, ward and finally my cabin"

"Sure Sir" Nitya gave him one of her dazzling smile. "By the way, that is the doctor's lounge" she said pointing towards a room at second floor

Maan sighed at the thought of hard work he will have to put in getting everything straight. He looked or rather glared at Nitya folding his hands over his chest

"Let's start once again Ms Nitya. I did not ask you about the doctor's lounge and that is because it is not on my priority. I do not usually get time to relax. I also don't want to waste my time explaining every small thing to you. I expect efficiency and professionalism. Now once again can you please show me OT, ward and finally my cabin in the order I have specified"

Nitya was shocked at the angry gaze emitting from the man standing in front of her. All she could think of was "Damn he is so hot". She blinked and with a sway of her hips moved in front to move towards OT.

Once they reached his cabin, Maan took his chair.

"Please bring a printout of my next week's appointment calendar. I also want to see the patient's file of all of them if existing"

Nitya's eyes popped out. "But Sir that is a large amount of files"

Maan shouted again "Nitya?please don't test my patience. You don't have to go thru it, I have to. So please just get the damn files. You have 30 minutes. Go now"

Nitya hurried out of the cabin.

Maan reclined back in the seat and closed his eyes. Already his head was throbbing with the new pain - Nitya. He calmed himself "Don't worry dude. Just beginning jitters. It is going to be ok once things are settled. Matter of just few days"

His mind wandered to today morning and automatically a smile came to his face. He had got up and had walked to Khurana Mansion for his breakfast as Juhi and Rishab were already there. As he entered he heard sweet melody of Geet who was rushing out to go to office. As usual, Nisha was chiding her to finish her breakfast which she was gobbling down. She picked up a toast and made a dash and almost collided with him.

He held her by waist to avoid the collision "Good Morning DZ"

Geet quipped "DZ?"

"Hmmm?disaster zone"

Everybody laughed and Geet's face flushed red with anger. She jerked his hands off "chala hato?aage se khabardar jo bachaya mujhe to" She stuck out her tongue. Maan still held her as he was lost in that pink tongue slipping out of her rosy lips. Geet cleared her throat "oh hello?faltu time nahin hai mere paas"

Maan moved his hands and she started to rush out. Maan resigned to the fate and started walking towards the dining table.

"Rukiye?aap office kaise jayenge?mera matlab do you know the way?"

"Uhhh?no not exactly" "Is she thinking of giving me a lift"

"Thik hai?main khud chali jaoongi?you take my driver today"

With that she skipped out of the door without even listening to the thanks Maan muttered.

"Jaldi mein bhi kitna sochti hai jhalli?hai is se kaise na pyaar ho"

His thoughts were intruded by Nitya's entry. "Sir, here are all the files"

"Thanks?you can leave. Also, I need coffee at 11:00 and sometime around 4:00 depending on the appointments. I will call you if I need anything. That will be all" saying this Maan dismissed Nitya. He hid the smirk seeing the disappointment on Nitya's face as she walked out.

He got busy in the work going thru the appointments and making himself familarised with his new patients. He had thoroughly enjoyed two weeks break which he had got due to this shift. He had not realized himself how hard he had been driving himself these past few years. At the same time, he was excited to start work. His work gave him a sense of satisfaction which was hard to describe. His only worry was the amount of time he will have to spend to set his routine and get used to the new hospital. He wanted to have everything planned as soon as possible and definitely before his week long tour to Holland.

Wonderful update...and u show Nitya as Maan's assistant and she started falling for him...not bad some jealousy part for Geet then she will confess her feelings...I love when Maan shouted on Nitya to show her place...Maaneet fans wonder how can anybody try to come between Maaneet.
