Rishab stared aghast at what Maan told him just a minute ago. "Have you gone crazy Maan? Do you know what you are talking about?" Rishab exclaimed.

Maan: I know what I'm talking about. And you just said that you wanted someone to look after Geet, someone who would take care of her '

Rishab: Yes, but I never thought that, that someone would be you. I can't let you do it Maan. You are just like my son. And even if I loved Geet more than my own son, I can't let you ruin your own life out of pity for me or Geet. You have every right to make your own choices about your life and the one you want to share your life with.

Maan: I am not asking you this out of pity and the one I would really liked to share my life with is Geet.

Rishab: But''''

Maan: No, let me complete first. When I first saw Geet, she was like a breath of fresh air into my boring and monotonous life. I never thought that I could fall in love at first sight but I did and that too with Geet. At that time I was unaware of her identity or even with the fact that she was married and have been widowed but now knowing this fact, nothing has altered the fact that I still love her and would very much like to have her in my life. The day after the party when I came to your house, it was to ask for your permission to marry Geet and here I am still anxious to know if you will permit me to have Geet into my life. I know I sound like a child who want to have his beloved toy but trust me I would give Geet all the happiness in the world. I would never ever let her shed a single tear.Will you grant me my happiness? Will you give Geet in marriage to me? "Please" Maan pleaded.

Rishab: I don't know what to say but I have full confidence that you will keep Geet very happy; however I'm not sure about Geet. She has not yet completely alienated Rahul from her life. She stills believe that Rahul would return to her sooner or later. I can definitely tell you that she will never accept to marry again. But even if I have to use force this time to bellow her down, I will. I can't let her life a bleak life like this anymore.

Give me some time Maan. I can't talk about her marriage in this situation but I soon as she is fine I will hoist the topic.

Maan: Thanks uncle. You don't know what a favor you have rendered upon me. I can't thank you enough.

Rishab: No favors Maan. In fact it is me who has to thank you. You have release a great burden from my heart. Now I can go to my grave happily knowing that I have been able to give Geet a life that she deserves.

Rishab and Maan talked till morning when the doctor came and signed the discharged papers of Geet stating that she was well enough to be taken home but she needed proper care. Maan bid goodbye to Rishab and left the hospital for his office. On the other hand Rishab took Geet back home where everyone was at her beck and call for every tiny thing except for madhuri who hated every attention that Geet was getting. Renuka took care of Geet's diet ensuring that she eat enough to get some energy in her body whereas Karan was with her to keep her occupied and away from solitude where she could drift to her past memories.

That very evening ensuring that Geet was in her room resting, Rishab summon Renuka, Madhuri, Dadima, and Vinay to his study where he wanted to talk to them about Maan proposal.

Dadima: Rishab, why have you called us here and where is Geet. Should not she be here too?

Rishab: No. its better for Geet not to be here for what I have to tell you people.

Renuka: Is it something serious. Is Geet ok? Has she developed some complications? Did the doctor say something? Please say something Rishab, your silence is scaring me.

Rishab: Its nothing to be worried about. Geet is absolutely fine. Actually I have receive a marriage proposal for her and that about what I wanted to talk.

Vinay: That a wonderful news bro but from whom.

Rishab: From Maan Singh Khurana

Renuka: What from Maan but he is a bachelor and''

Rishab: And he loves Geet.

Renuka: But do you think Geet will agree to it?

Rishab: If she does not agree then we have to make her agree.

Madhuri: I think its better if Geet gets married again, as it is till when will she continue to live as a widow and moreover she has become a nuisance by commiting suicide every time she has a chance. It will be better to get rid of her.

Dadima: Its better for you not to talk if you cannot say something nice.

Madhuri: But i''''..

Dadima: Shut up, will you?

Renuka: When do you intend talking to Geet about this proposal?

Rishab: I think we should give it some time. Let Geet recover completely and then I'll find a good time to talk to her. What do you think?

Renuka: I don't know. I have this strange feeling within me. Maan is a nice guy but still I am not sure. Maybe I am frightened by the way Geet will react when she will know of this. What if she attempts suicide again? No, no, I will not be able to bear it. I have already lost Rahul but I don't want to want to lose Geet. Maybe she should forget the very idea of getting her married again. We are here to take care of her. She does not need any one else.

Rishab: Now you are being selfish. We will take care of her till we are here but what will happen after we go. Have you thought about it and you are being fearful for nothing. One does not stop trying in the fear of failing. Till we are alive, our sole aim should be to see Geet settle again happily in her life.

Renuka: Ya, I think you are right. I was just being selfish- she said going into Rishab's arms and wiping her tears. Geet has the right to every happiness that comes her way.

Just then they heard a faint gasp at the door, they stiffen when they saw Geet standing there looking at them with accusing eyes. She clearly had heard everything which had transpired in the study. She ran away from there to her room. Rishab and the others followed her in fear she might do something wrong. When they reached her room Geet had emptied the items placed on the table adjoining the bed onto the floor, had crashed the flower vase to pieces and was crying hysterically. Seeing all this Rishab knew that Geet was very upset and went to console her.

Rishab: Geet beta, listen to me''''.

Geet: Am I a burden on you? If yes, you should have said so. I would have left the house voluntarily but there was no need for you people to make plans to banish me from this house.

Rishab: Geet, there is nothing as such. You are misunderstanding us.

Geet: NO'''it is as such. How could you even think of separating me from Rahul. He is not here but his memories are here. I can live with that till he comes back.

Rishab: Geet, why don't you understand beta, Rahul is never going to come back and whatever we will do it will be for your own good.

Geet: What own good? You are trying me separate me from my reason of living by getting me married to someone else but I'll never let it happen. Till I'll live I'll only of Rahul and no one else. If you try to force me I'll kill myself.

Rishab: enough Geet. You are talking nonsense. What has happen to you? Why don't you see the reality? Rahul is dead but you are very much alive. You have all your life in front of you and you can't spend it alone.

Geet: I am not alone. I'll never be alone until I have Rahul memories with me. I can still feel me in every breath that I take. The gust of wind that touches me carries his fragrance. My heart beats taking his name. his love flows as blood in my veins. I can never be alone till I have these things with me. And Rahul, he is always with me, I have just to stretch my hand to reach him.

Rishab: Then why don't you Geet? Why don't you stretch your hand and see if your Rahul comes back to you or not? Can't you do it? Or does not he want to come on your call. Why don't you accept that he is never coming back because he is dead. DEAD'''. And dead people do not come running from their grave when we call upon them. You are wasting your life behind an illusion and I can't see you doing it. I have decided that you are going to marry Maan and it is final. Nothing is going to change my decision now and if you attempt on doing something untoward then I promise you Geet that you will find me dead.

Announcing his decision and warning Geet about what will happen if ever she decides to defy him, Rishab slammed his way out of her room leaving Geet crying at the foot of the bed with Renuka who was trying to console her and see sense that whatever they were doing was for her own good.
