Hearing Rishab's words, Maan's world came crashing around his ears. He could not digest what he was hearing. Geet''''.married''''.Geet''''..a widow''''..Geet''''..Rishab's daughter-in-law'''.. His mind was playing tantrum with those words. Maan looked a Rishab for any sign that might gave an indication that he was joking which might have help to soothe his thundering of this heart beats. But there was none. In fact his face shows the rays of desperation, and failure. Maan heart went for the man. He could feel his distress even if Rishab was reluctant to put it into words. "Uncle, are you ok" Maan asked taking a seat next to him. "Of course, son", Rishab said forcing a smile. "Sometimes I think if Rahul would have been here then Geet would not have been in this state" Rishab continued.

Maan: I am sorry uncle, I did not know anything about it

Rishab: It's ok Maan. You were not even here when Rahul died.

Maan: How did it all happen?

Rishab: Rahul had gone for a conference to Pune and the next day was his wedding anniversary. He was rushing home to Geet when his car collided with a truck and fell into a narrow valley. His car blew up.

Maan: But why is Geet trying to kill herself?

Rishab: Because of frustration. She loved Rahul a lot, in fact she still loves him. She believes that Rahul will come back since his body was never found but she can't live without him and sometimes in moment of desperation and loneliness she tries to kill herself.

She is so much in love with Rahul that she can't see the truth that Rahul will never come back. Everything to her is connected to Rahul. They were two bodies and one soul. No one could ever separate them but nature had other things reserve for them and they did get separated but Geet is unwilling to accept this bitter truth.

The Geet that you see now was never like that. She was the life of our family. Her laughter used to fill the house with happiness. The sound of her bangles used to be heard in almost every chore that she used to do. Her pampering everyone, knowing everyone tastes, habits, likes and dislikes. She was the perfect daughter-in-law and an even better daughter to me and Renu but all that disappear in a blink of an eye. Now we are desperate to hear the noise of her laughter echo in the house but it seems that she lost her laughter, her will to live, her passion, her hobbies, everything with Rahul. Nowadays she just sits in a corner of her room memorizing her past memories or sometimes she was just lost in her thoughts, but all her thoughts are diverted to Rahul.

At night she often cries herself to sleep. She thinks that nobody knows about it but I have always known. When I pass through her room at night, I can hear her sobs. She hugs hers and Rahul wedding photograph every night. She is always talking to Rahul. She keeps writing letters to him which are neatly kept in his drawers. I have read some of those letters and in all of them there is one similar question and that is when Rahul will be coming back.

Sometimes I feel so defeated that I could do nothing for Geet. I have already lost my son and I don't wish to lose my daughter this time. Sometimes I ask god why he makes all the bad things happen to good people only. He snatched Geet's parents when she was only a toddler but nevertheless I and Renuka tried to fill that empty space in Geet's life and to some extent we have been successful. And now he has snatched Geet's love which has totally broken her up. I wonder what god has written in her fate. Why all the bad things happen to her only. Is she not destined to get her part of love and happiness of life?

Maan sat quietly listening to Rishab pour his heart out. He could feel the pain in his words as he relayed Geet's life in front of him. He was thinking about what a mess his life has become when he heard Rishab continue.

"I need someone who will show the lights of happiness into Geet's life again but I am unsure about how to do it. It is not easy to get a widow remarried even with the degree of unlimited wealth. But then I can't give Geet away to anyone who fancy her, I just have to be sure that the person who I'll be choosing to enter Geet's life is worthy of her and will give Geet's life that turn that I am expecting but where will I find such a guy"

Hearing Rishab, as if a bulb lit itself in the mind of Maan who kept urging him forward''.what are you thinking Maan''..here is your chance''.grab it'''.Geet is yours for the taking''.you love her''this is your opportunity'''go for it Maan''Maan dismissed the questions and words in his mind and heard himself saying "what do you think of me?".
