Next few days were not so eventful. Geet whenever passed by maan wud feel awkward by her boldness that day. She thought often that he didn't yell at her infact teased her or did he think she is lesb' questions kept coming and going thru her mind. She wud look at him thru corner of her eye when she saw him in room or on dinning table but wudnt utter a word. Sometimes she even let a small smile creep on her face but wudnt dare to show it to him. His was a similar state he had started acknowledging her presence, her movements in the house. Her routine was also being enlisted in his mind. He had never blinked at her activities so his mind was quite oblivious to her presence in the house for past 6 months so he never realised her presence. Now when his mind was open to her he wud keenly observe her whenever she happened to be infront of him. He wud often steal glances at her when she ate with him.
However their encounters where few. So the acquaintance was still less.
That day geet hurried to college. As she got up late and she had to be early to check some materials in the library. Geet had been given assignment in college in groups of 3. Their group had Nuts, Yash and Geet. They had no hopes from yash as he was busy that weekend with some relatives. The two of them had to work for 3. The projest was given by proff kapoor whom they often called Pantaloon. So this Mr pantaloons was quite strict and perfectionist. He gave the assignment just yesterday and wanted it to be submitted tomorrow only. Nuts and geet were never sloppy in their work and were always on time and this time also had a reputation to maintain. But this assignment was tough as they had not been taught many portions of it but who wud question pantaloon. Geet went to the library and then to her class.
Maan also went to his office a little before time as he had a meeting at 9. He too missed daadi on breakfast. He enquired nakul who said that daadi said she wud have it after sometime. He thought it to be a casual delay she had wanted and ignored.
At around 11, maan was busy in an office meeting listening to a presentation on his new project. His phone buzzed as it was on silent. His trousers gave him the vibration. It was nakul from home.
Maan - hello
Nakul ' saab daadi thora bimar hai. Dr aa gae hai.
Maan ' mein aa raha hu. Kya hua?
Nakul ' saab fever.
Maan immediately cancelled all his appointments for the day and sped for home. He reached and found daadi was lying on bed. She had a little fever but at her age its weakening. Dev and nt had woken up and were standing by the bed.
Maan never relied on them with daadi's health. Infact he took care of her whenever she had been sick.
Doc ' maan relax she is fine. Just viral. Can u plz call geet. I need to talk to her.
He was his family dr doc singh, taking care through the years knowing each one. But when did he meet geet was not known to him and y does he want her here. He is the one required and he is here to take care of daadi. Geet may be close to daadi but with him no one is needed by his daadi.
Maan in a manner to dismiss the issue. - She will come can u give me the details of daadi's health.
Doc ' that's y I wished to talk to her. Some old medicines need to be changed and she deals with all these things. She is very sincere about biji's health. Her phone is switched off. I have tried it myself so many times. Do u have any other no of hers? Saying this he started dialling geet's no. from his mobile.
Maan saw everyone dev, NT, and doc were trying from their mobiles to reach her. Even nakul dialled from landline. He gulped in he didn't have geet's mobile no. he never asked her. How could he ask daadi and that too now'
# maan u r in a mess. Daadi will surely kill u with her bare hands in this state of fever too#
Daadi ' she must be in class. That's y her phone is switched off. Dnt tell her in one go she may get worried.#maan ' daadi today u r my saviour#
Everyone relaxed but doc even after explaining things to maan waited for geet on the pretext he would measure daadi's temp once more so that the medicine is effective enuf.
Dev and nt went for their brunch as they had nothing and doc settled in daadi's room. Maan asked daadi to eat some fruits but she refused. He requested once more but cudnt force her.
Nakul ' madam hoti to daadi ma kha leti.
Maan was pacing to find a way to reach geet as this wud be the coming up demand.He picked up daadi's mobile from the bedside table as if trying from her mobile and read her no. as fast as he cud. Relief he got her no. next was talking to her.
On the other hand geet had just come out of her lecture and was heading to the next. They had 10 min break. She realised her mobile is switched off in the library instead of regular silent mode. She switched it on. Phone rang she received it was an unknown no.
Caller ' madam may I know ur name plz? R u the one using this no.
Geet ' yes. My name is geet handa.This was a call from the customer care eating her head on some new plan. He took 3 whole min.
Geet ' look im not interested dnt call me. And cut the phone.
The phone again rang. He offered an alternative idea. CRAP. Geet was loosing her patience, she wanted to enjoy the canteen tea and chatter as she had a boring class ahead.The phone rang the fourth time. Again another unknown no.

She cut the phone.
Maan's face lost color and then flared up. He left daadi's room and entered the large balcony.Maan again called her.
Geet ' man nahi bhara aur galli sunani hai.. samajh nahi atta mujhe fone mat karo.
Phone cut.
Maan called for 3rd time.He spoke before her. ' just shut up and listen to me. M maan bol raha hu. tum sunti ya sochti ho bolne k pehle. Bas muh khola or bol diya.
Geet ' koi mujhe phone karke tang kar raha tha.
Maan 'to tum bina sune ya soche kuch bhi bologi.ye bhi nahi sunana ki samne kisne call kiya
Geet ' saari galliyan apne suni kyu, bolna chahiye tha na. vo unknown no. tha
Maan ' tum kisi ko bolne kab deti ho.
Geet ' im sorry. Really sorry.
Maan ' sorry to tum aak bolna par abhi ghar ao
Geet ' sorry sorry sorry..im very sorry......oh meine pucha nahi aapne phone kyu kiya? Ye aapka no. hai? Kuch kaam hai?
Maan interrupted her ' question bank ghar aak solve karein' abhi turant ghar aao daadi ko thora fever hai.
Geet ' kya hua? Kitna temp hai? Doc aye? Kya kaha? Aap ghar par ho na unke paas?
Maan ' GEET ghar aao abhi.
Geet meekly' ok.
Geet was there in half n hour. She straight way rushed to daadi.
Geet ' subh bataya kyu nahi.
Daadi ' aapka class tha na.
Geet talked to the doc. He instructed about her medicines and pacified her that it is nothing more than viral fever which will subside in 3 days. She just needs care and monitoring so that no other secondary problem crops up.
Maan then realised how well geet knew daadi's medical history and remembered all her medicines and their doses. He was happy to see this.After the doc left geet pacified and cooed daadi into eating fruits even after initial denial. Geet was quite persistent and daadi bent to her wishes. Maan had also asked her to eat but hadn't been as persuasive as geet.
Maan settled on the diwan placed in daadi's room and took his laptop on his legs to work. He didn't want to leave daadi at anyone elses responsibility.
Dev and NT visited at regular intervals to enquire but geet was always there. Geet sat next to daadi and was reading a novel for her. They wud stop in between to discuss the characters and then geet wud resume her recital. It was quite interesting for maan to see two women of different age groups and behaviour bond so well. Slowly daadi drifted into a slumber and geet stopped after seeing this. Soon geet also fell asleep near daadi.
Maan looked at both of them sleeping together. Who cud tell it was a bond of just few months rather than years as it seemed. The innocence that played on geet's face was real and pure. He looked at the young girl her maturity in relationships was yet another facet enlightened for him. The girl was just a perfect one to be the khurana bahu. He had first time misjudged someone. His experience with persons was quite good and this time he had failed to understand geet's capabitlities. He had outrightly rejected her without giving her a chance. Geet had managed well as far as daadi and house was considered. She was younger to NT but seemed more mature and responsible. The best part was he had married her for daadi's happiness and atleast she is keeping daadi happy. Relationship with him was a far fetched thought. he had long ago shut doors for any woman to be showered with his love. He had lost much to try again he never wished to no matter how good the girl proved herself to be.
He engrossed herself to work again.
After sometime geet woke up and took daadi's temp. maan looked at her questioning as to if its fine. She made an action of assurance that its fine. Daadi soon followed she tried to go to the washroom, geet helped her.
Maan saw daadi just didn't need him in geet's presence. The girl was on her toes and knew what daadi wanted even without mention.Daadi settled on the bed and geet went down to cook something for daadi. Daadi on much persuassion had agreed for besan ka halwa that to made by geet.
Maan smiled inwardly.
Daadi ' geet ask nakul to make something else for maan. He doesn't like oily stuff.
Maan was angry but cudnt stop daadi to tell how much he had liked it last time.
Geet first started walking but then stopped to askGeet ' oh wont u like a few bites? Everyone likes that prepared by me.
Before maan cud say anything daadi ' naah he wont dnt push him.
Geet went to the kitchen. Daadi was lying lazily on the bed. And maan as usual involved in laptop.
A song began to play suddenly maan looked hear and there for the source.
Daadi smiled at him.
Maan ' ye kya hai daadi?
Daadi laughed weakly owing to her weakness. She glanced at the mobile on the table. It was geet's ring tone.

Daadi ' mujhe vo phone de dijye.
Maan ' daadi aap aise ringtones kab se use karne lagi hai.
Daadi ' ye geet ka hai.
They both smiled
Maan ' she is a combi of maturity and childishness.
Daadi ' I love this nature of hers maan' so responsible and mature that I can rely on her for anything yet so nave and innocent.
Daadi received the call after checking the id as nuts.Daadi gave tit bits on her health and then chatted for a few more minutes and then cut the call saying geet will call u.
Maan ' do u know her? he had read the name it was nuts , the same girl who shoved him off geet.
Daadi ' geet's college mates.. nuts I mean Natasha sweet girl hai. Bas phone pe baat ho jaati hai and geet unke bare mein batati rahti hai.
Maan ' daadi aap uske dosto se baat karti hai?
D ' kyu nahi they all call me DM. ache friends hai aur mein aapke tarah koi buddhi thore hu jo larke larkiyo se baat na karu.
Daadi' Maan smiled on this. then daadi gave him tit bit info of the group.
Geet brought 3 bowls of halwa.
She offered maan as ' try karke dekhiye na acha hai..She cud be persuasive to him too.
Daadi was happy when maan took the bowl with an expressionless face.Maan smiled inwardly that daadi didn't object this time.
Time passed and it was 9. Everyone had had their dinner together in daadi's room. Even maan adjusted in eating their with both of them.
He went to study as he had some international calls to make. Daadi assured him geet is sleeping with her and he needn't worry.
