Chapter 22

Gopi walked outside to the venue to see that Rahul and his family had already arrived. Gopi looked around for Ahem and didn't see him anywhere. She walked over to Jigar, Koki, and Hetal. Maybe they knew where he was.

"Devarji aap ne Ahemji ko dekha hai?" (Brother-in-law have you seen Ahemji anywhere?)

"Gopi Bhabhi yes I saw him. He was just here. Oh there he's coming down the stairs right now." Gopi looked to see him at the bottom and walked towards him.

"Ji aap kaha gaye they?" (Where did you go?)

"Aacha aab tumhe apni pati ki yaad ah rahi hai. Jao apne devarji ke paas jao." (Oh so now you remembered your husband. Go to your brother-in-law, go) Ahem pouted and walked towards the garden. Ahem smiled as he walked outside. 'Let's see what my beautiful wife does to pacify her husband. I won't talk to her all night.' Gopi followed him out.

"Ji yeh lo mein bhi apna khan pakad dehti hoon. Aab toh mujhe maaf kardo." (Here I have grabbed my ears in forgiveness as well. Now forgive me). Gopi gave him her best puppy dog eyes. Ahem quickly looked away.

"Kya kaha mujhe kuch sunaiye nahi dehta. Kisiko chinta hoon to mein wapas shaadi mein ja raha hoon." (What did you say? I can't seem to hear very well. If anyone here cares I am going back inside to the wedding.) Ahem peeked over at his wife before walking back inside. Gopi watched him walk inside.

'Acha Gopi aab kya karogi. Ahemji to bahut gussa hai tujhse.' (What are you going to do now Gopi? Ahemji is mad at you). Gopi played with her fingers deep in thought.

"Arre Gopi Bhabhi aap yahan. Mein kab se aapko doond rahi thi. Murat ka waqt ah gaya. Chalo Kamya ko neeche lana hai."(Gopi Bhabhi you're here. I have been looking everywhere for you. It's time for the wedding. We still have to bring Kamya down. Let's go). Gopi was snapped out of her thoughts and followed Kinjal to Kamya's room. Together Gopi and Kinjal walked her down the stairs to the mandap where Rahul was already seated. Rahul was saddened at the thought that instead of Gopi walking towards him she was walking his bride towards him. 'Stop it Rahul. You made this decision and you must stick by it. Kamya is a wonderful person and she will do everything to make you and your family happy. Gopi belongs to someone else. Today you are about to start a new life with a saathi that is amazing. From today on I will only look at Gopi with the eyes of a friend. Kamya is your life now.' Rahul looked over at his bride and had to admit she looked absolutely beautiful. He watched her sit down next to him and read a little bit of fear in her eyes. He grabbed her hand and gave it a little squeeze to reassure her that he would always be by her side and support her in all of her decisions. Rahul didn't know exactly how meaningful that little squeeze was for Kamya. With that gesture she knew that she had made the right decision in saying yes to Rahul. He was a marvelous human being with a very loving heart. She would be very happy with him.

Gopi watched as the priest began the ceremony. She looked around at Ahem and saw him standing next to Parag and Chirag. She looked over at him grabbed her ears and mouthed sorry. Ahem saw her and sulked before looking away. Gopi threw her arms down in frustration. She whispered into Kinjal's ear that she would be right back and walked towards Ahem. She stood next to him and nudged him. Ahem looked over at her, gave her a fake smile and switched spots with Parag. Gopi looked over at Kamya and Rahul with frustration in her eyes. The pundit announced it was time for the pheras and Gopi went close to the mandap to tie the ghat bhandan. She smiles over at Kamya. "Don't worry I'll tie it so tight that it won't loosen even after seven lifetimes." She went over to Kinjal and watched at her two best-friends were tied together for life. She watched as Rahul tied the mangalsutra around Kamya's neck and filled her maang with sindoor. She recalled her own marriage. Before she could never think back without tearing up, now she could recall it with happiness. She looked over at Ahem who was whispering something into Jigar's ear and smiled. He was all hers. After the marriage Kamya and Rahul took all the elders blessings before the bidaai. Gopi and Malini walked Kamya out. Kamya latched on her parents and cried. She made her way around the Modi family and Sanjeev before stopping before Gopi.

"Gopi thank you. If it wasn't for you none of this would have happened. I want to say how much you mean to me. You are my best friend, my sister and I love you. You are the kindest, sweetest, and most wonderful human being I have ever had the privilege to know. I don't know what I would have done without you in my life." Kamya hugged Gopi and the two girls cried.

"Yeh thank you kya hai. Jo mera hai woh tera hai. (Whatever is mine is yours) I love you and I am so happy for you. Tonight you are going to start a new life with your husband and I will pray to Kanaji that he blesses your lives with happiness, love, and prosperity. Aur Rahul meri dost ka dyan rakhna warna mein thuje chodungi nahi samje." (Rahul you better take good care of my friend otherwise I won't spare you understand) Gopi grabbed his ear.

"Ouch Gopi samaj gaya samaj gaya. Mein teri dost kya pura dyan rakunga."(I got it I got Gopi. I will take really good care of your friend). Gopi smiled over at her and watched her best friend drive away into a new life. Everyone slowly made their way back inside as all the guests had left. They all made their way into their rooms as they were all tuckered from all the commotion from the wedding. Gopi went into her room thinking Ahem would be waiting for her there. She called his name and got no response.

"Ab bhi naraz hai mujhse. Abhi manati hoon." (Looks like he is still mad at me. I will have to go and pacify him right now). Gopi walked into Ahem's room without knocking just as Ahem was changing into his night sherwani. Gopi looked over at him shirtless and quickly turned around. "Ji woh mein ji." Gopi stammered and played with her fingers. Ahem laughed and slowly walked towards Gopi who was still facing the door. He leaned over and whispered into her ear.

"Kya hua. Tera hi pati hoon kissi aur ka nahi." (What happened? I'm your husband not someone elses) Gopi blushed and looked down refusing to face him. "Mujhe manane ayi hoon na? (You have come to pacify me right?) How are you going to do that without facing me Gopi," he teased. Gopi stayed in place. "Fine stay there then, I will just go to bed." Ahem turned around and walked towards the bed. He sat down and smirked at his innocent wife who still had her back to him and was facing the door. Gopi slowly turned her head to look over at Ahem, and Ahem quickly frowned and looked away. Gopi walked towards her husband and sat down right next to him. Ahem slowly moved a few inches away from her. Gopi frowned and inched closer to him. Ahem got up and walked towards the window, but a small hand latched onto his. Ahem looked over at his wife. Gopi slowly got up and walked towards him. She tiptoed up to him and slowly placed a soft kiss on his cheek.

"Ji woh aab toh maaf kardo." (Now forgive me?) Ahem smiled and slowly wrapped his arms around her tiny waist. She fit so perfectly in his arm.

"Nahi meri pyari si patni. Aab yahan bhi dehene hogi." (No way my wonderful wife. Now you have to give me one here as well). He pointed at his other cheek. Gopi slowly tiptoed and placed a soft kiss on his other cheek. "Aab yahan." (Now here) Ahem placed his finger on his lips. Gopi looked to see where he was pointed and blushed before looking down. "Kya hua tuhje maafi chaiye na?" (What happened? You want to be forgiven right?) Gopi slowly nodded her head. "Toh interzaar kyon kar rahi hoon." (Then why are you waiting?) Gopi played slapped his chest.

"Aap bahut shaarat kar rahe ho." (You're acting very naughty). Ahem smiled as Gopi hugged him.

"If I can't be naughty with you who can I be naughty with huh?" Ahem laughed as he said that last part. He slowly lifted Gopi's chin and grabbed her face with his hands. He felt her breath quicken and her heart started beating faster. He looked down at her beautiful face. She had her eyes closed in anticipation. Ahem slowly lowered his face and placed a soft kiss on her lips. It was a soft kiss. Gopi slowly parted her lips and the kiss grew into a passionate one. Gopi's hands moved onto Ahem's back and Ahem slowly brought her towards the bed. He slowly lifted Gopi onto bed with one hand while using the other one to steady himself over Gopi. Ahem slowly broke the kiss and looked over at Gopi. Gopi looked back at Ahem with passion and desire in her eyes and Ahem knew she was ready. That was the most beautiful night in Gopi's life and she had finally gained her rightful place as Ahem's wife.

As per Diya's wish it was an uneventful wedding. Next chapter will be the last. Please comment and let me know your thoughts.
