Chapter 4:
Geet slowly shut her bedroom door behind her, took a huge breath in and out, in an attempt to calm her nerves, as she slowly made her way into the living room. She had quickly shot an email out to her boss saying that she was sick and closed her laptop. Today, she was going to tell Maan the truth, tell him everything that happened, hoping to solve this tiff with her estranged husband once and for all.
When she peeped through the door, she saw him.
There he was, dressed as prim and proper as ever before, his hands in his pockets, as he stared out of the window, his jaw set in anger, his eyes blazing with fury.
Sigh, apparently he hadn't calmed down at all.
Carefully, she began to tiptoe inside, when she heard his voice. "Ah finally, madamji here decides to come outside. Sit Geet."
And she sat, not that she had much of an option as he literally dragged her by the hand and guided her into the seat.
"So Diya and Dhruv Khurana. I must say, nice name choice Geet, but why did you feel it unnecessary to tell me that I had fathered two children, not one but two?"
Geet was surprised, but she knew she shouldn't have been. This was Maan she was talking about, he was the one person she knew that never beat around the bush, well the one person other than Dhruv.
Maan stared at her perplexed face expectantly, his arms crossed over his chest as he tapped his foot, waiting for an answer.
"I'm waiting Geet..."
"I...I...I don't think it's necessary for me to give you an answer Maan. My children and I are doing perfectly well, we have been doing wonderfully for the past six years, without you and so there's no reason for me to tell you anything."
"I asked you one question Geet. And you'd better answer it. I have every right to know that I had kids, every damned right!" he yelled out, throwing his arms up in the air in frustration.
She stood up. "No! No you didn't Maan. Especially not after I saw you with her! You don't deserve to know about my children in any way shape or form. You never loved me, so these children were never the product of our love. They were and are my children and mine alone."
Maan whipped around, trying to take in all that his wife was saying. "Her? Who is this other woman that you saw me with? And how the hell can you say that I never loved you Geet? I mean honestly, what else did you want me to do to prove that I loved you?"
"Oh wow Mr. Maan. I thought you would be overwhelmingly happy to get rid of me, considering the state you were in when I saw you in her arms that night. And she told me that you both were getting married. Don't pretend to be oblivious when you had obviously orchestrated this entire ordeal" she glared at him.
Maan was stumped and it was his turn now to be confused. "What an accusation to throw at me Geet! Me in another woman's arms, when you know that I could barely get enough of you even though we'd been married 3 years by then!"
A faint blush appeared on her cheeks at his words, He did have a point. They both were always in one another's arms, but no, that little b***h had convinced her that Maan and her were going to get married.
"And who was I supposed to be getting married to?" he questioned. "Who in the name of heaven had the audacity to tell you that I was planning on getting married to someone else? And beyond all of that, did you seriously not trust me enough?"
For some reason, a twinge of guilt hit Geet. She took a deep breath before settling down on the couch and telling Maan to do so as well, and he took the seat across her, and that's when she launched into the past.
"Naintara. Naintara Rathore. Name ring a bell?"
Maan looked confused, "Oh, you mean Arjun Rathore's sister? Of course Geet, why wouldn't I know who she is? But what does she have to do with anything?"
"Wow, wonderful. If I hadn't known the actual truth, I would be totally fooled by this little innocent act that you're playing" she answered, her voice dripping with sarcasm.
"Seriously Geet, stop with the twisting of my words and get to the point. What the hell does Naintara have to do with you leaving and not telling me about my kids and me getting married for a second time?!" And he suddenly stopped, as things seemed to form a clearer picture in his mind.
"So you mean Naintara was the one that told you that me and her were supposed to get married and you left? Just like that?" he questioned, his voice lined with utter disbelief.
Geet rolled her eyes. "To put it simply yes, but she showed me all the proof necessary for me to believe her. You think I would have believed her back then, considering how much I loved and trusted you? But she showed me that damn evidence, she mailed me the pictures of you in her arms the night of the Rathore party 7 years ago. I still remember. She was dressed in that skimpy red dress and you, you were in your classic business attire, the nice little black suit that I had bought you with my first salary, and a matching dark blue tie. I remember you disappearing that night, but why would I have ever thought that it was to go on a little sexcapade?"
Maan's eyes widened with each word she was spitting our of her mouth. But he didn't get a chance to say anything before she continued.
"Oh yes, and you Mister had the audacity to come home and have s** with me as well? Uff, I can't believe I used to ever love you. Anyways, guess what I got in the mail a few days after the party? The pictures. And I could clearly make out who she was and so I confronted her. Guess who got the biggest shock of her life then? ME!"
"The man that I'd trusted to love me for the past 3 years, was apparently going to be marrying someone else! He actually wanted to divorce me! She told me everything Maan, everything. How the two of you were dating before your parents forced you to get married to me, and how you both were in love with each other, how you both had rediscovered your love soon afterwards and decided to get remarried as soon as you and I got a divorce!"
Geet was going eccentric, wild with rage with each passing minute. Her face a bright red, she was literally screaming by the end of this, and Maan was more perplexed then ever.
"Woahhh Geet" he stopped her before she could add in another word. He went and sat himself down next to her and clasped her two hands in his own, "Woooah. Naintara Rathore told you that we both had s** and you believed it? You honest to God went and believed that I would come straight into your arms after having been with another woman? You thought I could even be with someone else? And what the hell Geet, how are you this stupid? Me and Naintara having an affair? What kind of crap is this?"
This NT😡...she doesn't let them live in peace anywhere...
I am very curious what NT could have told Geet that made Geet believe NT over MSK. I know I am going to have to be patient and wait for the next update..but a hint would be nice!
