Geet was getting ready to college, The dark purple churidar added glowing to her fair skin... her face reflected the color of her dress. She took the towel off from her hair and stood in front of the mirror.. she was doing everything in quick, didn't notice Maan's eyes on her.. Nakul came in with a message for MSK and left. By then Geet was completely ready and had her college bag in hand.. She turned quick and bumbed onto Maan..

She jerked and looked at his face and met his loving eyes.. Geet looked at him in question..

Maan in a soft voice: you forgot something..?

Geet suddenly checked on her bag..

Maan: mumhum... not that. you forgot to apply the sindoor..

"no, I am not." she turned to look back into the mirror and asked Maan..: "look, I have it on.. how can Geet forget that.."

Maan held her shoulder and turned her around..: " really, I didn't see, let me check..." he looked at her hair partitian and a teasing smile appered on his corner lips and his soft lips touched her forehead..

Geet blushed and trying to control her happiness

Maan: hum, now i can see the color. what you think?

Geet looking into his loving eyes: really.. that is good to know..

Maan: really Geet , now only it is looking colorfull..

Geet: Ok then, now tell me the reason for this..

Maan: what reason...

geet: you always ask me na..

Maan touching under her chin, looking deep into her loving questionable eyes said: you look very beautiful in this color.. first time I am seeing you in this shade, and like all other color, this suit you very well too..

Geet cheeks turned red... she just gave a shy smile back.

Maan: Oh my, you are going to college na.. Geet, if you prefer, you can wear light shades too.. that suit you well too..

Geet looked at him as she heard the change of expression in his statement...

Maan saw the tinge of surprise on her face..: Its ok, I was joking.. you can wear whatever you want.. just be comfortable..

after a deep thought: oh oh.. I got it.. hum... you are thinking about others looking at me.. right?

Maan: no, I am not..

geet still looked at him suspeciasely...

Maan: no Geet, why should I?.. but...

Geet went more closer.: tell me na..

Maan: " Ha Geet.. I can't tolarate any one elses eyes on you...." and tried to look away...

Geet with a smile: now I am feeling happy..

Maan: what .. why happy?

Geet: to know that if somebody look at me like that, you get jealous too...

maan looked at her..

Geet: yesterday you called me jealous... now..

Maan didn't say anything... but then looking at Geet with an angry tone: if anybody even try to be near you, I will..

Geet: oh.. thank you.. thank you.. it is good to know about it..

Maan tighetend his forhead..

Geet: you know nobody is behind me..

Maan: heina.. Vo Raj.. with an angry tone..

geet: Raj.. no.. he was anxious to know about you, not me.. he asked about you.. see, even men are back of you only... now I know somebody is dreaming about you too... with a sniff she continued.. I need to tackle this girl first.. If she say somehting today na.. you will see.. now you can't tell no to me either..

Maan: then tell your bhayya to make a call and I will be right there...

Geet: na, don't even think about it.. I just saw one yesterday, God only knows how many out there.. and if they see you there na, God only knows what will happen.. so if anything happen, I will handle myself and for my side I have my bhayya.. imitating his image..

Maan: I told you earlier that if you want to announce our marriage....

Geet interupted: No, not now.. I like this privacy of us.

Maan: so only you changed your name to Mrs. Singh

Geet and Maan walking down : hum.. what else I should do, the lecturer is giving KC as an example and the girl behind me saying to talk about her dreamboy... Its like business school has your name on their lips for everything.. so I don't want to get into the eyeing part.. Now I can discuss anything with anyone, I can look at KC from a different angle, I can see others views.

Maan was feeling happy to hear Geet's words... Daadi with a smile also joined them..

Geet continued as they sat for breakfast..

Geet: What I am thinking is, I am going to concentrate on Indian paints.. I mean, I am starting from the basic of big business now, so why don't I apply that in Indian Paints from its base too. learn its struture from the baseline, so that I can build up my project on that..

Maan: Great idea Geet.. and yes, I am going there today. Just want to check with everyone how the new incharge getting along with everyone ....

Daadi: Good Maan.. and also you can bring the necessary documents for Geet to start with ..

Maan sipping onto the ornage juice: yes daadi.. so what you think Geet..

Geet gave a happy smile..

They said bye to daadi. Maan ignated the engine of his car and waited for Geet's car to move first... he drove out as her car disappered from gate..

Geet got to know few more classmates and they started chit chatting and sharing their viwes on diffrent things.. Piya was eyeing on Raj every now and then , asking the same question.. as she was not seeing him nearby anymore.. Guard was there each morning till evening, smiling around with a proud face.. Geet smiled happily thinking of her bhayya effect.. in between Maan made calls mostly to get to know about Geet.. once he got call from the Principal with a request .... but Maan refused as he needed to go to London for some final set up of a project.. this became a routine of their life.. Maan missed Geet so mcuh with his outdoor trips.. because of Geet's study .. Maan tried to attend parties alone, just for the sake of his presence, and then came back quick to listen to his Handa stories..

KC was growing nicely with new projects... Indian Paints served as a real learning ground for geet's learing and it made her understanding easy. Geet brought indian paints example for her group projects and given Colors to fake the original name. She discussed the case with her friends, and was practically started bridging gaps after suggesting and getting approval for her plan with daadi .. Daadi was feeling so proud.. Slowly Daadi gave comeplete freedom for Geet and told her to contact the new incharge with her new plans and suggetions directly..

One fine evening...

Geet was sitting on the outside garden bench with her book and was reading it with so much concentration.. Maan was on his way back home.. the lawyer was on the phone..

Maan: tell me..

Lawyer: sir, the papers are ready.. so if you want we can proceed now..

Maan with a thought: no, not now.. Geet is having her semester exams , I don't want to put her in any additional heavy situations at this time. Anyway it is legal matters, so I think it will be easy for you to handle.. only proceed with steps that won't need any of Geet's presence. OK.. and let me know..

Lawyer: yes sir..

Maan hang up his phone and was thinking.. after starting college, Geet is living in a completely different world. She almost forgot her past. Sometimes she acts like a small school kid, sometimes like a well trained business person. I don't want to interfere that. I want to see her successful in this step, once she achieve her dream, she may be able to face the world with an answer and with her firm footage. For now she need that than anyother proceedings.. It may take another year.. but that wait is worth .. I can't see her breaking down again seeing Nayantara's face.. but my people are there, they are locking all the loops and circling her from every angle, so once she face Geet in future, she will never be able to get out from the chain that I built for her... a smirk smile appered over his lips as he thought about NT's face...

Maan reached home.. looked around inside and then checking in his room, he walked towards the window... and he saw her sitting with her book and totally into it.. he smiled and got changed quick and went down.. and met her at the garden..

He sat next to her.. The smooth wind was circling around.. He wrapped his left hand around her shoulder to ensure his presence..

Geet slightly jerked and looked at him.. and smiled.

geet: when did you come.. ? sorry I didn't even know about it..

Maan: Its Ok.. as far as you are into your studies, I don't mind.. but once you finish this, I won't tolerate any of these act.. I want you to meet me the second I step in to our house..

Geet closed the book , keeping her finger on its open flap..: really..

Maan bringing her more closer: yes Geet, Now I am not bothering you much, because I can see how hard you are working.. more over Indian Paints showing up nice results too. So I am so proud of you..

Geet with a wide smile: such..

Maan: yes, I did the audit, and I can see the diffrence.. and more than anything, I am proud to see that it is all your effort..

Geet felt more happy..: all becasue of you..

maan: no Geet, it is comepletely your effort..

Geet: because you gave me the freedom, you gave me the confidence..

Maan smiled: hum, so ready for tomorrow's exam..

Geet : almost, it is easy to remember as I did applied it to Indian Paints and dessected it with my each step.. but I need to just brush up..

Maan: you need any help..

geet: hum.. Just sit with me for some time..

Maan just brought his other arm around and wrapped that around her and mostly took her into his embrace..... geet's hair was flying with the wind.... Maan rested his chin over her head and she just sat under his warm embrace...

Geet: when are you leaving..

maan: day after tomorrow.. It is a three weeks trip.. so I will miss you...

Geet: Me too, but that is important too.. Just one more year, then I will join you.. I won't let you go anywhere without me..

Maan: once you finish this study na, we will go to Paris first.. then after that where ever you want to see..

Geet: no, I will be fine, I just need you near by me.. I feel comfortable when I sit under your embrace...

Maan: me too Geet, but I need sometime just for us.. only you and me.. last one year, you are busy with your studies and I am with my business deals... but that is not going to happen once you complete your studies ok..

Geet: hum.. Geet was more cuing under his warmth...a small happy smile was playing on his lips..

Daadi was looking at this couple lovingly as she was passing through the varanda.. her eyes filled with tears... for a second she thought.. My all hard work is paying off now.. I wanted to see this happy smile on Maan's life all this time... .. she enjoyed their cute fightings, enjoyed Geet's college talk.. which she never thought will happen in her life.. all the time the boys, were in their own world.. but when she came, she was around me like a butterfly... complaining of Maan's actions, or happily telling about her college bhayya.. or talking about her friends, Piya, Abhay, sundar.. and her enemy in all words kanika... Poor Nakul, he was the only one trying to escape from geet's eyes these days.. and even I have seen him hiding under the table once or twice... this is the life I wanted.. even though many ups and downs happened in Maan's life, Geet brought him back into life.. Geet gave the reality to my hope ... tear drops started rolling down her cheeks...
