Suhana Corner: Keeping a check on my impulses

It's been a learning week for me. I've figured out that every moment I spend with the Kashyaps is a learning moment for me. Slowly I'm learning the value of money, which is a good thing for me, as well as my family.

I had a discussion with Badi Maa and Rajini Didi about money and the value of it. It was so interesting to know what they had to say and I suddenly felt guilty buying that dress for Diwali. I decided to give it back, but everyone insisted that I keep it because I looked nice in it. They admired me for my gesture and told me to respect the value of money before giving in to my impulses in the future.

While I was praised for being thoughtful and for the way I looked in my dress, I wasn't completely happy. You see, I'm a little annoyed with Ishaan. I know it's not his fault, but I am annoyed with him. I thought that I had moved on from Sid, and thought that I was happy. However, when I gave Ishaan a pair of sunglasses, he refused to accept them reminding me that I had bought them for Sid. I was hurt by this reminder and even more so, when he wore the sunglasses Sonali gave him. Despite being upset, I have to admire Ishaan for his self-respect. He is nothing like Sid and it would be an insult to him if I put them in the same sentence together.

Speaking of Sonali, I'm surprised with Meena's attitude towards her. She's been criticizing Sonali saying that she's spending too much time with Ishaan. She chided her and said that I was Ishaan's wife and it was my right to spend more time with him. Initially, I didn't understand the outburst, but things fell into place later. Sonali also started acting like Ishaan's girlfriend, which annoyed me. She threw a tantrum because Ishaan had broken his promise when he forgot to take her to Gulabchand Ki Rasmalai. Interestingly, everyone in the family got excited and I wondered what was so great about this sweet. I then tasted it and understood why the family raves about it so much. While the rasmalai was delicious, I didn't enjoy it too much because I'm a little concerned about the way Sonali is acting around Ishaan.

But Sonali's attitude is strange. I'm feeling a bit awkward about it and going by Meena's sentiments, I'm not the only one who feels this way.
