Anuj Saxena
Despite the income-tax raids on his Elder Pharma offices last week, life is back to normal for Anuj Saxena.

Over the weekend, Anuj began shooting again for his shows Kumkum (Star Plus) and Rishton Ki Dorr (to air on Sony). He is also in the process of casting for his film, to be made by his production house, Maverick, besides shooting for two TV shows.

Besides work, he also had a Kkusum reunion bash at his Oshiwara home over the weekend. Guests included Nitin Trivedi, Pratim Parekh, Tassnim Sheikh (who came with beau Sameer Nerurkar), Bakul Thakkar and Usha Bacchani.

Though Nausheen Ali Sardar, Raymon Singh, Manisha Kanojia, Ekta Sharma and Rupa Divetia were also supposed to be part of the reunion — they couldn't make it at the last minute.

Catching up

Says Saxena, "It was the original Kkusum cast. We had not caught up with each other for a long time so we all decided to meet. My place seemed to be the ideal spot. We had planned this before Holi."

Green room gossip

The IT raids couldn't put a dampener on his plans. Saxena had taken the initiative for the get-together as for a long time all of them were on touch on phone or via SMS.

Says Tassnim, who played the character of Jyoti, Kkusum's sister in the show, "We had a similar bash a while back. We had planned it many days in advance so nothing could stop us. It was nostalgia time for all of us as we all spoke about the things that happened during the shoot and the green room gossip.

And all of us laughed a lot. It was amazing to see Anuj enjoying himself thoroughly even though it was just a day after the IT raids on his offices. But as I told him, he used to laugh at everything during the Kkusum shoot and continues to do so even today."

For Bakul, who played Lali chachu, this get-together proved to be the best way to relax. "Some of us got real close during the shoot and we have all kept in touch. Every few months, we catch up with each other and Anuj's home is the best place, for the amazing food that is served!"

Even though Kkusum was yanked off the air from Sony last year, for some of the cast members there is still a lot to savour. "We are looking forward to our next small reunion," adds Thakkar.
