To Love Again - Part – 38

Family relatives and friends were also invited to Maan and Geet's baby naming ceremony. Khurana Mansion was decorated as beautiful as a bride with multicolored flowers and decorations, giving away all the essence of the ceremony that was about to take place in a short while. Daadi kept the sweet angel in her lap until the priest comes to start the ceremony. She then handed the baby to Geet who sat down with Maan besides the priest to start the ceremony, completing the basic rituals needed. As soon as he was done with the basic rituals, Maan offered milk to the baby with the golden ring that was given to him by Daadi. It was the same ring that was used to feed milk to Maan during his naamakarma. Geet was the second one to repeat the same thing, which Daadi followed later by feeding milk to the baby with the golden ring.

The baby was then kept in the cradle especially made for the occasion and Pinky took the lead among the people gathered, commenting about how everything was going on 'no wonder, she is the duplicate of Geet' she whispered to Daadi who was unable to step back from there. Daadi nodded and added 'I'm sure that she too will be innocent and cheerful like Geet'. Geet moved forward and sang a lullaby to help her baby to fall asleep while showering her love to the little angel. Maan observed Geet's actions from a distance, falling in love with her even more as he listened to her soothing voice. He was wrong before, to believe that Geet did not know how to sing. Before she could finish her lullaby, he reached there and together they both completed the lullaby for their baby, for the very first time making their friends and relatives to praise them more than before.

'Mr.Khurana, we all are eager to know the name of your baby' one of Maan's business associate whispered to him secretly, for which he smiled and gestured to be patient, still. He was waiting for the moment that the priest asks him to announce the name and finally the time came. Maan smiled at the people there and held Geet's hand as everyone glanced at him wanting to hear the name. 'I hereby announce the name of our very first daughter, Mahek Maan Singh Khurana, in short Mahek M.S. khurana. We decided Mahek as her name because she is the fragrance of our love; she will always spread her sweet smell in our lives' he took a necklace from his pocket and approached to the cradle where Mahek was sleeping. He asked Geet to hold onto one end of the necklace while holding the other end with his hand, together they put the necklace on Mahek's neck with the pendant marked with the letter 'M'. The crowd applauded them once they finished the task, each one waiting for their turn to have a look at the baby Mahek.

Adi was updating Maan with the recent works going on in the office as usual, while Sasha went there to congratulate Maan. 'MK, congratulations, Mahek looks like you' Maan knew that it was a lie, because not only himself but everyone else too said that Mahek looks like Geet. 'Oh! Thank you, Sasha; I'm talking about an important thing, so please leave, by the way you need to congratulate Geet too' Maan showed her the right way to go to Geet.

Maan called Geet in the afternoon, but did not know how to start the conversation that he wanted. Instead he kept on asking whether things were going smoothly or if she needed any help, making Geet to wonder about his change in behavior. With much effort, he managed to ask her the question that haunted his mind 'Geet, are you trying to teach Mahek to call mommy, first?' Geet giggled upon hearing his question and teased him with her answer 'of course Maan, it's obvious that I must teach her to call mommy first, but she is still too young to call mommy or daddy, so no need to worry' Maan sighed with relief and continued with his work at office.

Knowing the upcoming hectic days, Maan tried his level best to keep Geet and Mahek happy with him, but keeping Geet uninformed about his tasks made him uneasy at times. It was the toughest day that he had ever experienced at work, as it was the day that he has to complete all the matters related to his business facing a great loss because of Sameera. Geet rang him several times but he could not respond a single call as he was involved with so many meetings, one after the other. It was their bad luck that when Maan called Geet could not answer the phone, making the situation worse for them.

It was late night when Maan finally managed to enter into his bedroom and found Geet and Mahek sleeping on their bed. Upon seeing this he knew that Geet was upset because they could not contact each other. Silently he went into the washroom and took a shower before facing his wife and daughter. He sat on the bed and held Mahek to lift her from there and noticed that her lips and face were wet. He then smiled at his wife who fell asleep while feeding the baby and covered her with the blanket before taking his daughter to her cot.
