NEXT DAY

Maan woke at 10 in the morning, geet was still not home, he went to his room and took a bath, then ringed (via intercom)nakul and told him he has hangover and bring tonic for him. When Nakul came, he asked about Geet that is she home? Nakul said no sir; maan asked do you know where Mama is? Nakul she is in the dining room having breakfast.

Maan went down to dining hall thinking about how to ask about Geet.

Maan: Good morning Mama.

Roshini: Good morning. Have some breakfast.

They ate their breakfast in silence. Roshini looked at Maan and realized, he was agitated about something.

Roshini: maan do you want to discuss something?

Maan: No, mama i am free till 1p.m. so i was thinking about helping geet in economics but she is not in her room.

Roshini: But geet is staying at her friend's home for the weekend.

Maan: which friend?

Roshini sighed and said this just isn't my day, i can guess from your tone where this is going, first Darji and Raj bhaiya and now you, darji already has sent the driver to bring Geet home. I will send her to your room when she comes.

Geet could not sleep last night; she kept thinking how she will face Maan. So, as a result she had temperature next day. She wanted to go home, so she packed her bag and told others that she was going home. But before, she could call home, Mama called and said to come home. She said that driver will be there in 5 minutes.

Geet's head was pounding, she just wanted to go and hug mama.

When geet came home, Mama was waiting in lawn. She took one look at her face and stood up. What happened geet? She hugged Mama and said i have temperature, i was coming home anyway.

Mama took her to her room and helped her into the bed. She put a blanket around her and went to get the thermometer. Geet had high temperature, Mama called doctor.

..................Evening.....................................

Everyone excluding Maan had come in her room and asked about her health. Darji even drank soup with her and after giving her medicine and kiss on forehead he went to his room. Dad and Mom had spent whole afternoon with her and dadima had made her drink ''karah''. Papa had said nothing just sat quietly on her bed the whole time. Dev who was studying hard for his exams had popped in, only Maan had not come. Geet could not decide whether she was angry or relived at his staying away.

She was lying on bed with Mama beside her who was texting her friend, when there was a knock on her room door and Maan entered. Geet had planned on acting like nothing happened but she took one look at him and her heart beat increased, her eyelids were like glued on her cheeks, she blushed furiously. She tried to look up but her eyes shied away from him.

Maan walked in and saw that she was lying on bed covered with blankets. She looked flushed. Maan, i heard geet has temperature? Maan sat on the sofa while looking at them.

Geet tried to speak but could not utter a single word. She was feeling suddenly warm again. Geet buried her face in the blanket.

Mama replied that yes, she has fever; doctor says it is due to tension but geet says everything is fine.

Maan said nothing, thinking maybe she saw me outside in the parking lot and that's why she is tense. He thought about telling Mama about the incidence but she already looked very worried and tired. So, he decided against it. He will deal with her personally.

He told Mama to go and rest as she looked very tired and said he will look after Geet. Mama go and take a nap and then, come back at night, i will be here till then.

Mama told him that Geet's temperature has lowered but to give her this medicine after 1 hour.

Before geet could muster the courage to take her face out of blanket and ask Mama to stay, she had gone away.

Silence stretched in room, Geet snuggled more into her blanket.

Maan, Geet i know you are awake, get your face out of the blanket. Geet thought what if he remembered? She started hyperventilating. Geet, he loudly said. Geet slowly peaked out of her blanket and looked at him.

Maan, what you have to say for yourself? Geet, haaanh....what i have to say for myself, but what did i do. He was still glaring at her. So, she said, i, umm, i do not understand what you are talking about?

Maan, first you break rules and then you pretend like you do not know anything. What were you doing in a disco at midnight?

Geet just looked at him, she was getting angry now, he had the guts to do THAT with her, and he was not even apologizing and on the top of that he was demanding a sorry along with an explanation at what she was doing at disco.

She threw her blanket aside and sat up in her bed. All the mushy feelings had vanished. ''What about your own actions, care to justify them''?

Maan, my actions are none of your concern, i am your elder, you are answerable to me, now tell me what were you doing there, i saw you in the parking lot with Pooja.

Geet, oh he still does not know, now what? How to handle this? Umm , we ah we went there to get Vicky, Fari's fianc, he had car problem and umm he knew , we were at Taj, so, he asked us to pick him up, yeah, that is why i was there. She quickly made up the story and tried to look innocent.

But he was still looking suspiciously at her, ''so, what about you, should i go and tell dad about you flaunting your mistress openly.'' Maan, how do you know about Sameera, if you did not go inside the disco, then how come you know about me and Sameera?

Geet, ah everyone know about you guys? Maan, no, no one knows. How come you know about it? He had started moving closer while Geet started backing away, her legs touched the bed but he was still coming towards her. Geet tried to think but her brain seemed to be freezed, then,she saw mom coming in and thought what if he told Mom, she will know i am hiding something. So, she did what any respectable girl who has grown up watching Indian soaps would do, she gracefully fell on bed in a mock swoon.
