I have never posted in this forum... Never even thought I would, but since this is my favourite character's last day, thought this was necessary for me... as I officially say goodbye to this show (honestly, I do think adjectives in a dictionary wouldn't be enough to explain the pitiable state of this show)
Siddhant Modi – his name is about discipline, it is about righteousness, and honour. And today, this post is to pay tribute to one of the best characters television has ever produced. I am a Siddhant fan; hands down. I am not going to hide the fact, neither am I going to justify myself on why I chose him over someone else. This post is about a character that is so beautiful, yet so flawed that one has no choice but to hope a siddhant enters their lives.
Siddhant has his shares of flaws; but those were never anything close to the kind of person he had become over the course of his marriage. Sid gave Riddhima all the love she needed to move on, all the support when she wanted to help armaan move on. He stood there right by her side, when she needed him the most. Who would be strong enough to let go off a wife to go to her ex? And an ex that still loved her more than his life? Sid not only let her go, but also encouraged her to help out someone he truly loved. Sid is such a soft person, but he is also the strongest of them all. He would never show pain because it would cause others pain.
Dr. Siddhant Modi is about love. He is about selflessness and what true sacrifice is all about. He is exactly what many have always wanted to be, but never really managed to be. He is what many dreams of but never finds. Sid is about a shadow who walked behind her when she needed to be the leader. He was about a shadow who walked beside her when she needed a shoulder. And he was about a shadow who walked in front of her when she needed a saviour.
Yes, he may not be prince charming. He is not the typical lover boy who would give you a box of chocolates and a bouquet of flowers. He can't take you out for beautiful candle light dinners without messing up something. He can't bake a chocolate coated, strawberry cake without burning half of it. Neither can he recite Romeo's most famous dialogues to convince you of his never-dying love. Siddhant Modi is just an ordinary guy, with an extra ordinarily beautiful soul.
Sid is not about the extraordinary. He can't be singled out in the crowd, because he is a part of the crowd. Not everyone who stands on the middle of a huge stage is the one that is the most special in the lot. Yes, he may be the most famous, yet there may be someone out there in the middle who has more potential. A person that may not be a crowd puller, but a person that stands out within them. A person that may not get all the love, but the person that spreads most love. He is not someone who stands center stage, attracting all the attention and love. Sid is the guy who stands on the corner, watches over like a guardian, ready to fight anyone who hurts the person he loves. And ready to fight himself if he finds out the person he was hunting for lived in him.
Siddhant Modi is not an ordinary person with a beautiful love story; he is a beautiful person with an ordinary love story. What makes any of his relationships so beautiful is he himself; whether it be Sidmaan, Siddhima or SidShi. Sometimes, we find our angels behind the veil of an ordinary person; because angels don't need to show they are beautiful, it just shows...
I know a lot of hardcore Sid fans are upset with the sudden turnover of his character. But I don't see it as to anything out of the character Sid truly is. Yes, Siddhant Modi does not sacrifice his dignity for anyone, but he is more selfless than anyone as well. He knows it would hurt Riddhima to have to hear his painful words, so he never uttered it. He knew Riddhima would never move ahead if he had accused her, so he never did. Sid never had thought about himself, and that is his best trait. He sees the positive aspect of a person rather than the negative... He is truly honest, even to himself. That is why Sid is so special. Many would claim that is a weakness, that he has no back bone. But for me, that is his strength; to be able to love so selflessly and yet walk out with dignity. To be able to be the loser, and still remain the winner.
Siddhant Modi seems weak, but the power of being able to walk away when he had a chance not to; the power of being able to give up when he had reached the finish line; and the power to let go off his own life; that is what strength is all about. It is easy to give up what had meant life, yet watch them in front of your eyes, and secretly hope they would come back. It is easy to watch your love move on, and still convince them that they love you even if you know it is morally incorrect. But to give away what your life was based upon; to let go off something that means your existence – without any selfishness, without any hope – to just walk away, without hard feelings, giving a smile to everyone while hiding your pain... that is what a true man is all about...
I just want to say, Siddhant Modi is one of the best characters I have ever seen on television. He is not a dream – unlike every other perfect character. He is reality – and yet full of dreams. Today, as I watch him depart, I could manage to smile under my drenched face because I know he would be able to find love once more. He would be able to move on, and smile once more... Everyone deserves a second chance in life; Siddhant Modi deserves a second love in life. And the way he departed, the way his character has grown to be – I am sure he is right on his way to finding the person that would always keep that beautiful smile on his face.
Thank you Karan Wahi! Thanks for being the most talented actor out there, and portraying the most beautiful character I have seen for a long long time so brilliantly. You are such a rockstar, and may God give you abundant success in the very near future! I hope to see you in a new show soon... preferably with SA... 😳 😆
