Ten Days Later

Maan storms into the Khurana Mansion with a look that would kill anyone who would dare come in his path. He screams, "Dev"

Daadima and Naintara appear at the top of the stairs while Dev comes out of the Den and faces Maan saying, "app, Maan Virji…kahan the," But before he could say anything further, Maan gives him one box on the jaw that has Dev staggering backwards and almost falling to the ground.

Daadima and Naintara try and come in between when Maan points a finger at Naintara and roars, "Tum to bilkul hi beech mein mat aana, tumse to mein baad mein niptoonga," and he then looks at Daadi which though softened a bit did not camouflage the rage he had at Dev, "Daadima aap bhi… kuch nahi jaanti isiliye aap bhi beech mein mat aaiye." He gave an order to Daadima.

He went to Dev who lay sprawled on the sofa that had broken his fall and held him by his collar and lifted him off the sofa and growled at him, "Tum, tum ho woh, jissne…" but shoves him away in disgust and turns away.

"Dev achcha hoga agar tum aur tumhari patni yahan se chale jaaye aur kabhi…bhi …kabhi bhi..iss ghar mein wapis aane ki baat kya soche bhi nahi. Aaj se tum iss ghar ke liye marr gaye Dev." Maan gave the ultimatum to Dev and Naintara.

Naintara could see her plan of having Khurana millions vanishing and tried a one last attempt to save their future and asked, "Kyon…Virji…kyon aap sirf hamein gunahgar tehra rahe hain? Isme aapki bhi toh galati hai. aapne hamein madad kar di hoti to hamein woh kadam nahi uthana padta."

Maan turned his head towards Naintara with eyes that were burning fire which would surely burn her and coldly replied, "Tumhein meine pehle hi kaha tha, agar ek bhi aansoon gira Geet ki aankhon se mein unn sabhi aansoon ka badla loonga Naintara, Tum jaanti ho kya gunah kiya hai tum dono ne. Mein tumhein Police mein sirf, aur sirf Daadi ki wajah se shayad na bheju par ye to mere haath mein bhi nahi hai ki Geet kya karegi. Behtar to yahi hoga ki tum dono khud apne aap ko Police ke hawale kar do."

"Maan beta, ye kya keh rahe hain aap. Ye tumhara bhai hai, aisa kya kiya hai jiske liye usse Jail bhejna chahte ho?" Daadi tried to intervene.

"Daadima, kya aap sunn payengi sachayi apne pote ke baare mein?" Maan asks Daadima softly.

Naintara not wanting to give in so easily counters, "Sachayee? Kaise keh sakte hain ki Geet sach bol rahi hai aur hum nahi? Humne kuch nahi kiya, woh Geet jhoot bol rahi hai."

"Achcha, ek minute" Maan sarcastically rejoins. He turns towards the door and says, "aap andar aa jaaiye…" and both Pammi and Kamya enter the house. Naintara is shocked to see them and knew that now her tactics will not work and she looks at Dev to handle the situation.

Dev looks at his mother and sister and says, "Maan Virji, Geet ne jo bhi kaha hai sab sach hai. Mein apni gunahon ki sazaa katne ke liye taiyyar hoon. Mein khud ko Police ke hawale kar doonga. Par aap Geet se mile? Woh…"

Maan raises his hand and scornfully replies, "Mein jaanta hoon woh kahan hain."

Dev looks relieved and goes to Daadima and pleads with his hands folded, "mujhe maaf kar dijiye Daadima, mein aapka sahi mayne mein pota nahi bann saka…mein kamzor nikla Daadima jo apni khandaan ki izzat ko saare shaher mein nilam karega. Meine Khurana Khandaan ka naam badnaam kar diya" and falls on his knees sobbing. Daadima turns her face away even though she did not know the whole incident, she definitely knew Maan was always fair and Dev must have done something terrible to have brought Maan's rage on himself.

Daadima was puzzled and asked Maan, "Par beta aap thhe kahan? Aap kya Geet ko dhoondhne gaye the? Woh wapis aayee the aur meine usse ghar se jaane ke liye keh diya tha kyon ki ussne aapki aur Khurana khandaan ki izzat se khilwaar kiya tha."

Maan closed his eyes feeling the pain Geet must have felt at the time. How had he missed finding her that day? He had searched for her all over the place but she had vanished in thin air and he had wanted to think so he had gone to the jungle to rework the strategy of finding Geet. He had been distraught at her absence but he knew in his heart that there was something that was troubling her and that he had failed once again to read her eyes correctly. He had seen the pain but he had been too euphoric to question her hesitancy.

He had berated himself as he had chopped the logs with each stroke cursing himself for failing to understand Geet. It had struck him then that the number on the paper had something to do with her meeting Dev and Canada. He had then decided to go to Canada and talk to Pammi and Kamya who had been with Dev in Canada when the money issue had come up.

He had a feeling that it had been connected to Geet somehow. He had coercd Pammi and Kamya to spill the beans of exactly what they had done to Geet and he also realized that the child that Geet carried was a Khurana blood, Dev's blood.

He had felt hatred and revulsion for his brother who could stoop so low to not only cheat an innocent girl for her money under the pretext of marriage but also impregnate her, all this while he was married already.

He had then realized why Geet had left after meeting Dev, she had been in a quandary to tell him about Dev and his heinous crime or cover it up for his happiness.

He had come back to Delhi with Pammi and Kamya as witness against Dev and Naintara. On the way, to Khurana Mansion he had met Geet, by chance. But then fate always seemed to bring them together no matter what. He had touched his taveez then and knew he had been brought here at the right time.

He saw she was with another woman and when he had gone up to them to realize it was Myra.

He had walked upto her and put a hand on her shoulder and uttered sofly, "Geet,"

She had fliched at the touch but had swiftly turned on hearing his voice. She had looked shocked yet relieved and had muttered in almost inaudible voice, "kahan chale gaye the….aap…"

Maan had gathered her in his arms refusing to believe that she was in front of him till he had touched her. She had reciprocated and he had held her to himself as if he would never let go. Well, he was never letting her go out of sight ever again, for the minute he left her, she found trouble for herself surely.

Maan had confronted her about the truth and Geet and explained what she had gone away for and why she had come back only to find him gone. How she had been asked to leave by Daadi and now Naintara had insinuated that he would be better off without her.

How Myra had found her in the park that night and had helped her. Geet told him how Myra seemed to have understood her plight and offered her help without even knowing her. Myra had looked a bit contrite at not having had revealed knowing Geet as Dev was not a subject she had felt Geet would want to hear.

When Geet had asked her how she had known that her love had gone away from her, Myra had explained that it was evident by the look on her face. She knew it as she had lost her love as well and understood what it was like. She had taken Geet to her place and had set out to help find Maan but they had given that up after couple of days. Myra had gone to the office and spoken to Adi and Pinky and learned that the office was abuzz with talk of Geet jilting Maan had made him to retreat into jungle. No one seemed to know the whereabouts of Maan Singh Khurana.

Geet had then started looking out for jobs at various places but had been unsuccessful so far. It was an interview that she was to go and Myra was taking her there when Maan had bumped into them.

Maan had then taken both of them to the Khurana Mansion but had asked them to wait in the car. He had wanted to finish something and did not want either of them there.

Maan opened his eyes and asked both Naintara and Dev to get out of there never to show their face. Just then Geet and Myra enter the Mansion.

Dev looks at Myra and Geet and whispers, "tum dono"

Geet then looks at Myra in astonishment as to how Dev knew Myra and that is when Myra puts a hand on her shoulder and said, "Ye hi hai, jiski wajah se mein kavita likh sakti thi…."

Geet's eyes rounded but she understood now why Myra had helped her. She smiled at her and said, "Tum bahut achchi ho Myra, tum…" and hugged her.

Maan then went up to Geet, took her hand in his to walked towards Daadima. Once in front of her, he announced, "Daadima, ab sagai nahi… seedhi shaadi hogi…"
