The truth hit me, then stabbed me, then
killed me a thousand
Times....
I cried that night with the never ending
thought of the truth....
I thought I knew my life I thought I
understood it all....
But you opened my eyes and unwrapped
the hurtful truth....
Vru, you have captured everything with the best tastes👏👏👏
Just wanna say that you have made me cry with your writing
All the best dear👍🏼

Everything i do i do it for you.

Dedicated to two Friends... you know who you are...

Part 1

Maan read what Pinky had written and knew what Geet was doing. It gave him hope that she was there - so close yet so far away. He knew where she was even though Pinky had not broken the promise and given only a clue. He went there only to find no trace of her, boy had the tables turned. For last two days she had been asking him to hear her out and he had not and now he was going crazy looking for her to tell her exactly what he should have done, listen.

He did not have time right now for recriminations. He can do that later, that luxury was affordable once he had Geet with him. He felt right now there was a train he had to catch else he would miss the bus of life. He knew from this day forward every step he took would be towards her, with her; he needed her in his life.

He reached the station and halted to take in the scene of people milling around and he searched for the elusive green, a sign surely. Then he saw a furling green flag beckoning him to look and he saw her dupatta, as she boarded a train. He had felt her presence the minute he stepped into the station and knew she would catch the first train out of here.

The train started to move and he knew he had to be on it. He jumped into the first door near him and moved in the direction he has seen the dupatta before it had disappeared into the door. He searched calling out her name in a chant, pleading her to come out of hiding, his eyes darting in all directions, his movements jerky at best. His heart was thrumming at a speed that would shame an airplane.

He saw the dupatta fly in the next bogie as he reached the end of one, she must have seen him and he paused. Why was she running from him? He then changed strategy. Instead of calling out her name, he moved stealthily, moving like a panther on a hunt, hunting for his love. He went ahead into the bogie and saw again the ever faithful dupatta, giveaway her location. She just shut a door of a compartment.

He stood outside the compartment, hearing her movements inside, her panting breath and saying "Babaji". He smiled hearing her voice and then whispered, "Geet, Darwaza kholo," with longing, apology mingled in the voice, "Mujhe tumse baat karni hai."

"Chale jaaiye yahan se, Maan, mujhe kuch nahi sunna," she replied with steel in her voice even though she felt none of it.

"Geet!" he shouted firmly, then more softly, "Please, tum galat samjhi, jo maine kaha tha, tum galat samjhi," banging on the door, he muttered, "tum sun lo phir kahogi to chala jaaonga."

But all he got was silence from the other side, he stopped banging on the door and stepped back, prepared to wait as long as it took to talk to her. It was his turn to do the groveling, to apologize and he was not going anywhere without saying his piece. He folded his arms and leaned against the window behind him feigning confidence he did not feel. The train was moving so she will have to come out at some point and he was willing to play the waiting game, for eternity if need be.

He straightened as he heard the lock being opened and immediately pushed the door open before she got the opportunity to close it on him and shut it behind him once inside.

Geet goes, "Oh," but could not add anything beyond and Maan came up to her as he asked, "Kyon Geet, Kyon," with eyes that searched for answers from hers. He looked wrought to her but she kept her composure, she was not going to melt, she was going to stand her ground.

"Kyon chorr ke jaa rahi thi Geet, mein kaise jeeonga agar tum chali gayee to?" he pleaded then, telling her in no uncertain terms what she meant to him and waited for her verdict.

Geet was taken aback at the vehemence in his voice, his pain but she had to remember his words, she had to remember he was not accepting of her truth. She had to remember that he had been disappointed that he was not the only man in her life and she did not want her imperfection to affect his otherwise perfect life.

She purposely made her expression turn bland and replied, "Mein kuch nahi kehna chahti, Maan, bas aap chale jaaiye yahan se."

This riled Maan and he held her shoulders and replied, "I am sorry, I am so sorry, I was hurt and I was distraught hearing your truth. Tumhare sachch ne mujhe hilla diya Geet. Mein aaj tak samjhta tha ki mein apni dosti, apna haath tumhein de kar tum par ehsaan kar raha hoon, mein mahaan hoon kyon ki meine tumhein bachaya hai, par mein galat tha Geet, kitna galat tha." He thought he had to let it all out. His realization that she was not only brave but she also had the character to smile at her adversities, to fight and still believe in goodness. He knew he would have either retreated into a hole or fought the world like a rebel, but here she was fighting her situation with aplomb and he felt besides deep love, admiration for her strength, her strength of character to not crumbling under the pressure but rise with dignity and courage.

Geet was still not convinced but she could feel herself melt for he had a look of admiration for her besides self-reproach. She tried to close herself out; she knew she should, it was best for him, them for her to leave him. Her shadow will always cloud their future and she could not bear to see Maan having to play second fiddle to anyone, to compromise, to be in a situation where he has to bow his head. She wanted to be his strength not his shame. But more than that she did not want his pity, which would kill her. She felt he did not understand her, did not know how much he meant to her and the reason for leaving.

But before she could reply, he added, "Mein kaiyee maut mar gaya Geet jab pata chala ki tum chalee gayee. Adi, Pinky sab tumhara pata bhi nahi batana chahte the. Mujhe dhakka laga tha Geet jab tumne kaha tha ki tumne usse Mann se maan liya tha, ki tumne usse bhagwan se upar ka darja diya tha par woh kuch nahi tha, kuch nahi'. Iss baat ke saamne ki tum mujhe chorrkar chalee gayee'.tumne angoothi bhi'peeche chorrdi Geet'. Tab mujhe ehsaas hua ki tum kya karne chalee thi'." Tears were glistening in his eyes which he held back with enormous effort, but his voice gave him away, it broke as he thought of her leaving him.

Geet could not take it anymore, hearing him say those things which she now knew must have sounded like that but that is not what she had meant. She had meant'. She put her hand on his cheeks and then explained softly, "Oh, lekin, meine to aisa nahi kaha ki mein aaj bhi''" and halted. Dare she say anything that will tell him how much he means to her?

Maan then put a hand over hers and said, "Keh do Geet, tum sirf meri ho, keh do ki aaj woh tumhare liye koi mayne nahi rakhta, keh do geet'." He needed to hear her say it..hear her assure him that in her heart there was only room for him, he was not a man who would share her affection, he was too selfish and in his need he pulled her closer holding her shoulders..

"Woh'.mein'Maan'" though her expression changed to tell him that she had not thought of that man in benevolent fashion for a long time, she looked into his eyes steadily and told him, "Mein usse kab ka apni zindagi se nikaal chuki hoon '.Maan'." but before she could say anything more, they heard a knock on the compartment and they turned as the door opened to bring in the ticket collector.

They both looked at each other as the TC asked for their ticket. Geet offered hers while Maan stood next to her. The TC looked at the ticket and said, "madam, ye train Ahmedabad nahi, Kolkatta ja rahi hai'. aap galat train mein ho'."

Everything I Do (I Do It For You) - Bryan Adams..

Look in to my eyes
You will see, what you mean to me
Search your heart, search your soul
And when you find, then you'll search no more

Don't tell me, it's not worth trying for
You can't tell me it's not worth dying for
You know it's true everything I do I do it for you

Look in to you heart, you will find
There is nothing there to hide
Take me as I am, take my life
I would give it all, I would sacrifice

Don't tell me it's not worth fighting for
I can't help it, there's nothing I want more
You know it's true, everything I do I do it for you

There is no love, like your love
And no other could give me more love
There's nowhere, unless your there
All the time, all the way

You can't tell me it's not worth trying for
I can't help it, there is nothing I want more
I would fight for you, I'd lie for you
Walk the wire for you, yeah I'd die for you

You know it's true
Everything I do
I do for you

Everything I Do I Do It For You

Part 2

"Kya…?" Both Maan and Geet asked in unison. In her need to get away from him, she had stepped into the train without even looking where the train was going. She looked at Maan and he immediately posed a question to the TC which was the next stop and the reply came, Lucknow. Maan then went into the take charge mode and bought them two tickets to Lucknow. Geet was too stunned to react and sat down.

Maan immediately asked if she was feeling faint and settled her till they reached Lucknow and figured a way back home.

They got down at Lucknow, Maan was happy with her unspoken consent at going with him. He took her hand as they walked to the ticket window to ask for the next train back to Delhi and was informed it was going to be only late in the night. Maan then decided to hire a car to get them back home. Just as they were ready to leave, they heard a baba walk by and tell them "Beta, allah tum dono ki ichcha poori kahe, Dargah Hazrat Waris Ali Shah Warsi Dewa Sharif par sabhi ko pyar and sukoon naseeb hota hai."

Maan then decided to take her there to tell her what she meant to him in front of God. He let go of her hand as they reached inside the Durgah and then turned towards her in front of the shrine and told her

"Aaj, iss paak jagah par mein ek waada karta hoon Geet, mein tumhara har haal mein saath doonga. Tum aur mien aaj se hum hain." He pledged in front of her going on one knee.

Geet had tears streaming down her eyes and Maan grimaced closing his eyes. "Geet mein tumhari aankhon mein kabhi aansoon nahi aane doonga, tum please rona band karo."

"ye khushi ke aansoon hai Maan, aur mein bhi wada karti hoon ki aaj ke baad apne rishte ki buniyad sachchai aur wishwas hoga. Hum kabhi bhi ek doosre se koi baat nahi chupaiyenge aur mein aapko kabhi chorrkar nahi jaaongi." Geet promised in return solemnizing their union in front of God and both then bowed down together side by side in front of the shrine and a flower fell in between them as a token of blessing from the Almighty himself.

Geet picked up the flower and they both walked outside side by side firm in the knowledge that from today they were one. As they reached the car Maan asked one last thing he wanted to be confirmed by her, "Ghar Chalein?" a repeat of what he had said in Hoshiarpur for it was renewing of those promises he had made to her that day and felt a sense of elation so see her smile and nod silently.

They started their journey back to Delhi which will take them few hours and they silently kept looking at each other with every passing moment heightening the awareness between them. They kept reminiscing all the days that were pointing to this day, each meeting conspiring to bring them together. They were destined to be one, they were made for each other.

Maan did not speak much only asking her periodically if she was hungry or to stop when they needed to. He was in a hurry to reach home, their home where they had shared a special bond; the outhouse was their very own shrine of their love. That is where he had found her and that is where he was going to revere her.

They reached home late in the night and everything was quiet around them. Maan stopped Geet from getting out of the car and went around and opened her door. He then lifted her in his arms and walked over the threshold, just as he had done the other day when she had been asleep and to the bedroom and let her slide down beside their bed. Geet felt a frisson run down her spine as he had put her on her feet and held on to him for support for she realized her feet had suddenly turned to jelly.

Maan's eyes had a molten fire in them ready to burn her with the searing gaze. She held onto his shirt with both her hands as he wound his arm around her waist, pulling her closer while supporting her. With his free hand that ran down her cheek moved her hair aside and then down her throat, traced the fine veins and slowly moved first down and then up her arm and take her hand in his and kiss the hand. He let go of her hand momentarily and removed the ring he had in his pocket all this time and put it on her once again. He smiled and said,

"Is baar na natak, na koi majboori , na unkaha ehsaas, Geet, ye mere pyar ki nishaani hai tumhare ungli pe aur prateek hai hamare pyar ka jo iss ki tarah atoot hai." and kisses her hand again.

Geet had tears shimmering in her eyes but she did not let them fall as she knew he hated them. She then looked around for the bag Maan had brought with them and once she found it near the bed, she asked him to relieve her from his arms. Maan frowned but did not say anything as he let her go. She got the Taveez she had kept with her and brought it to put it around him and said, "Ye taveez jo hamein jodhta hai, ab tumhara hai, ye hamare pyar ko hamesha bandhe rakhega." And gave him a hug that told him that she was his, all his.

Maan then took her head in his hands and gave a kiss that sealed the promise they just made to each other, the promise of love, friendship, trust and above all faith in each other from this day forward.

Maan kissed her forehead, her eyes, and her lips with a fervor that threatened to spill over. Geet wound her arms around his neck and submitted to his ministrations. Maan let his love pour out of him and encompass them in a cocoon that will nurture and protect them.

He slowly moved her to the bed and laid her down, sliding in beside her. He traced a finger from her forehead to the base of her neck and held her neck in his hand as he kissed her lips in a swoop that was passionate and deep. Geet gave him back kiss for kiss retuning his passion, his love.

Just as Maan moved to remove the dupatta from around her neck, there was a shrill noise and they both stilled. It was his cell phone and Maan moved off from the bed to see who it was this late and saw it was Daadima calling.
