Chapter 45

As Vicky and Arjun went for shopping the things for the barbecue, Vicky asked, Dude! What's the story come tell Papa Vik! You got the hots for my Saali or what? Chal yaar, finally tujhe koi pasand to aayee. Baat karoon kya tere liye?

Arjun smiled sheepishly but just shook his head and said, Nahi yaar, she is cute lekin I am sure out of my league. This guy was much younger than him but he had always called him Papa Vik because he could give advice on how to pattao girls like a pro and best was not one girl ever got angry with him and came to beat him up. He had heard loads of stuff from his friends. Vicky never told anything about a girl he dated, he just gave random advice. He always maintained a code of keeping his girls to himself though of course the naming ceremony was something even Vik the Dik could not stop the rest of them from doing. Their men's locker room talk were highly censored pieces and if any woman actually heard the stuff they would discuss, none of them would trust them with their hearts. But by some unspoken code, their girlfriends or love interests were never discussed, just random girls at school or cheer leaders or such.

They shopped for coal, some gasoline and drinks for everyone. The boys were looking at having beer but Vicky told Arjun that may be Abs and other girls may not like it. He knew Nargis did not drink other than that one time..with him, well actually from him. He smiled at himself at that memory. Arjun said, haan yaar, yahan we can be like Americans, these desi girls will kick us out from our territory itself.

Maan and Abs got ready for the evening. Faz, Nargis and Nupur had worn cotton trousers and smart tops to give themselves a casual look. After being at Nargis's and chatting animatedly about each other and their lives, they had gone to Faz's place so that she could change as well. Nargis and Nupur had met her parents and had enjoyed the half hour with them. Faz's mother was a very warm person. Faz had called her about the barbecue and she had sweetly told that she will prepare the chicken and paneer for the barbecue and girls need not worry about it. She had kept chicken and paneer marinated enough to feed an army. Faz had called Sasha and Tasha who had agreed to get some other snacks to go around as they would be in office anyway. Nargis had taken samosas just like she had made earlier. They had asked the bride not to do anything.

Adi, Sasha and Tasha came from office to the farmhouse after stopping at their respective places to quickly shower and change. Adi wore khaki shorts and polo t shirts while Sasha and Tasha were in jeans and smart t shirts. They all were happy to be out of the ornate clothing and back to regulare attire. They picked up Abs's brother on the way.

Arjun and Vicky had showered at Arjun's place and Vicky had borrowed shorts and tshirt from Arjun. The both look dashing in their preppy shorts and tshirts. One had a checked beige and black shorts and the other had stripped white and beige shorts with white Ralph Lauren tshirts to go with it. They looked liked brothers with similar height and built.

They had the barbecue set up a while back, all ready for the paneer and chicken to go on the grill as soon as the girls bring it. Arjun had invited couple of other guys as well who were friends with Maan from college. They were sons of industrialists who had come to Boston to study and come back and were managing their father's empire. One was Manav and other was Vishal. They came with their girl friends. It was turning out to be a gathering after all thought Arjun. All this because he wanted to get to know a certain someone. He will have to be careful he thought, Vicky had already picked up on his motives. But had felt better that Vik had not pursued it. How does one tell Vik that she had given him couple of sleepless night with just one meeting? He, the mr logical, had lost all logic merely looking at a girl and ahem her assets? He still remembered how his body had hardened when he had first met her.

Shaking himself from those thoughts that would not be good at this time, he busied himself with arranging charpai and putting rugs on it and some lounger around the barbecue. The organized a make shift bar with a table and arranged glasses and cool box with drinks in it with lots of ice.

The troop trickled in one behind the other. The sound of closing car doors brought them outside. He had ensured enough lighting was there for everyone to see but dim enough to make it romatic. A few lanterns on the ground and couple of porch lights created the atmosphere. There was a fountain in the corner near the gazebo that he wad turned on and the gurgling sound of water was adding to the music that wafted from couple of speakers set up on the porch to have some background music going.

Everyone came and gathered around and the hugs and kisses exchanged and introductions to the new friends happened and everyone settled around the barbecue and the boys got busy with the cooking the chicken and paneer on the grill and the girls set up on the table the snacks and napkins and plates for everyone.

The party was going in full swing with everyone enjoying the evening. Just then a song drifted from the speaker that had Maan pull Abs in his arms and twirl her around. Abs had worn a long layered skirt in multicolors and a maroon blouse that was feminine and flowy, just falling over her waist. Maan was casually dressed in denim shorts and white shirt. The song was Abs favorite Everything I do, I do it for you, by Bryan Adams. The rest of the crowd joined them on the impromptu floor created near the barbecue.

Vicky had pulled Nargis, the other friends had joined with their girl friends. Adi had been wanting to go to Faz but was still gathering enough nerves when she was pulled in by Arjun so he asked Nupur if she would dance with him. Just when he thought everything was going wrong when Vicky came next to him and said why don't you switch partners? And pulled Nupur and put her in Arjun's arms as he winked at Faz to give her a hint that he was up to match making between Arjun and Nupur. Faz complied immediately.

Nupur had been okay dancing with Adi, but this turn of events was making her seeth. She glared at Arjun as he put his arm around her waist and pull her close.

uii maa....ye jija hai ya dusman....khud saali ki bali charhane mein tula hua hai....bt jijudude..koi fayda nehi.....mujhse picha nehi churne wala....nags ki saath fevistick se chipki hu....😆😆

Hmm, sharab...I never even touched tea or coffee aur yahaan alcohol...Maan you better not take more than one peg, or else I'll 😡 Main kuch zyada hi controlling ho chuki hoon kya? Par mera bhai bhi toh wahaan hai, and I don't want him seeing Maan senseless..Maan samajhdaar bacha hai na!😆

vicky hai..na match maker extra ordinaire...he was trying to put Arjun and nups together but inadvertently did the trick for adi as well...you should be the one..helping him btw...dont you think...kuch dekhti bhi hai ki nahi..ya sirf maaan dikhayee deta hai aaj kal...
