It is interesting to notice a striking similarity in the two stories, one which is finished (according to me), one which has just started.
Ridhima - Sid : She was in agony, pain, anger (intially, later stages replaced by desperation to meet Arman) and what not. Totally lost herself. She was inconsiderate towards others, especially Sid. She troubled him, no actually torchered him, humiliated him, and many more things. She never thought back how rude she was to him, how impossible she made his life. It was actually not his share of anger. It was somebody else's anger which she bestowed upon Sid. He initially tried to retaliate, then understood her agony, stood by her (initially just as a human) and tolerated her till his breaking point (the moment before the marriage). That great patience, support from him has brought her back to life. In my opinion there was change in her immediately after the famous "I refuse Ridhima Gupta". Their story took a different turn with Arman's return (but it is not related to the current post). They are in peace with each other and their story is over now.
Arman - Shilpa : He is pain, agony and is totally lost. No he is not angry unlike ridhima becuase, here he understands her decision. But nevertheless in complete pain. Now he is inconsiderate towards others, especially Shilpa. Today's his behaviour is very inconsiderate, from the point of view of any person oblivious to his pain. Shilpa is trying to retaliate now.
Questions are ?
1. Will shilpa understand his agony, after she comes to know of his agony (which I think will happen) ?
2. Will shilpa support ?
3. Will shilpa bring him back to life ?
I think the answers will be yes. The more interesting contrasts inspite of this commonality is
1. Situations are same, but in the first story it is a woman and in the second story it is a man. For me, it will be interesting to watch the differences in a woman's and man's behaviour.
2. Ridhima was not even aware of his (arman's) wareabouts, she was desperate to meet and talk to him, she had hope. Here Arman knows Ridhima is settled, happy in her world and there is no hope (superficially he may still appear to have hope, but deep down he knows it is over). So, her struggle was more desperation to meet him and get him while his struggle will be between hope and nohope, about his feel of loss and to appear as if no loss (in front of others).
So, I notice a striking similarity between the two stories, inconsiderate behaviour towards a person (totally unrelated to you) because of your own agony. An interesting point to ponder over is, what in Sid, Shilpa made these to pick them to be inconsiderate.
You people can add many more interesing differences in these two stories.
PS : This is my first post on Arman and I really want to understand the characters, human behaviour patterns, reactions etc. I would request you also to do the same.
