Chapter 36

Abs and Maan's wedding preparation was going on pretty well and it was a good thing that Abs' family was going to be there to give Abs' the support they can give. Maan and Abs had become relatively busy the next day and only had time for a quick chat in between, work and wedding arrangement to keep each other posted.

Vicky called up Nargis in the evening and learnt that Nargis was expecting a guest from US and wondered if this was a good sign or bad that suddenly someone was coming to see Nargis. He tried to gather why but Nargis seemed too excited with the arrival for it to be bad he thought. He asked when was the guest arriving and once learning that it was a late night arrival, he told her that he would take her to the airport to pick the friend up.

Maan had a call from an old friend and it was good to catch up with him after so long. He was doing well for himself and had called to congratulate him on his engagement. Maan got him to promise to come for the wedding and that he would send the details via email in the evening. He was currently in London. Mann had almost finalized all the friends, colleagues and clients to be invited for the wedding and had given the card for printing and then distribution by this weekend after the approval had come from Daadi and Vicky last night.

Nargis had prepared the room for Nupur and had asked Vicky to come for dinner so that they can then go around midnight to the airport to pick Nupur up.

Vicky came with lot of news about the wedding plans and the preparation and an invitation to the thakka on Sunday at their place. It was to be family and very close friends. Nargis was skeptical if she should come especially as Nupur was going to be there and Vicky simply solved it by inviting her too.

Vicky and Nargis bantered and listened to music while they chatted sitting comfortably after dinner and waiting for the time to go to airport. Their taste in Hindi music was similar but where nargis liked Rock ballads, Vicky was a hard rock fan where western music was concerned. The discussed and laughed and taunted on their favorite songs and Vicky told nargis she was a closet romantic, who loved soft music and wore the stern lawyer look to drive men away. He reminded her of their first meeting and they both laughed. Nargis punched his arm and said, you really were loathsome you know that, so free with your opinions and kisses. Vicky said, Hmm so you didn't like me kissing Sarah eh? Nargis asked you remember her name too? Vicky raised an eyebrow and said why not? We went around for a few months and we had a good time. I don't buy expensive gifts for acquaintances you know, that was my break off gift for her by the way.

Nargis was a bit shocked at Vicky telling her all this but secretly she liked it that Vicky was giving her explanation about that girl. Nargis then ran her hand on arm and asked looking at her traveling hand rather than his face, Will you also give me a gift, if we break off? Vicky stilled, all fun gone out of him.

He tipped Nargis' face till she looked up into his eyes, Now why would you ask such a question? Have I not shown how much I love you? Have I not told you, you are the only person I have told those words to? Nargis I had girl friends yes in plural, but only one at a time. I am not a heartbreaker, I had fun with them and they were good women who made me happy at that point in time. But things never went beyond a few nice moments. They didn't churn my feelings up Zeno! Only you take that place. Only you have my heart.

Nargis' eyes filled with tears and she muttered, I just sometimes feel, what if I lose everything, you. I sometimes feel, we have gone so fast and you know, the physical side and all, sometimes I wonder, will you tire of me Vicky and leave me just like you did other women, giving a memento as remembrance?

Vicky held her head in his hands, putting his head against hers and said, Love, you have to trust yourself and me and what we have. I can give you assurances to chase away your insecurities, but you have to know inside you that you are with me because we are meant to be. You have to find out for yourself. I am here with you, always. Turn around and you will find me, you are not getting rid of me you hear.

I know we have moved fast but it feels so right Nargis. I know I am your first and you are worried because we have different backgrounds and all but you know if you need time to think about getting married and want to take this slow, just tell me and we will do that. I will wait for you. That is how much I feel for you. I want you. All of you, But your doubts will come in between us. How will you tolerate it if I have to go away? How will you believe what I say if you think I could be fooling around?

Nargis was stumped. How did Vicky voice every doubt she had? How did he understand her so much. She blinked. She realized that whatever the past was, Vicky was hers, now and forever. She really could not believe, she could be so lucky. She realized, she needed to trust and understand what they had.

She looked into Vicky's sincere eyes and said, I believe you Vicky. I love you. I promise that we will always talk about everything, our fears, our hopes, our dreams. Hold me please. Vicky smiled, wiped her tears and gathered her in his arms and rocked her.

Zeno! He whispered, Tum hamesha yaad rakhna, you take my breath away, from the moment I saw you, I have been yours, only yours.

Vrushali amazing update as always. Loved Vicky soothes every doubt away by being so honest and upfront to Nargis. So Nups will meet her future jijudude! 😉

Chalo chhote miyan ki vaat lagne se bachi iss mamle mein unlike bade miyan in the future 😆...Punjabi Sheru ko Bihari Sherni se vaat toh lagegi i, aur uss Frenchi girgit toh chalne phirne layak nahin rahegi! 😆

Wow...Vrushali....I am on cloud nine right now😍.....Beautiful update....loved the heart to heart with Vicky...it was exactly as I had imagined it...and wanted it....true, simple, heartfelt, and full of emotion....Thank you for this!! I wanted Vicky to know Nargis to the core....and Nargis to know him to the core....and as a result of this conversation...both will always look to this moment in their hearts, whenever any question or doubt should arise due to outside circumstances.

you know..when i started the update i had left it at the vicky offering to invite Nupur as well..this was in the morning....then..when i started...somehow..the words just came out...and you know...
i was a bit shocked...at how i had the update turn on myself...i did not think or plan or whatever writers do..about a scene. i just typed and this was the result..

if you read properly..the first part sounds a bit disjointed as if the thoughts are not coherent..but the part once Vicky and Nargis start to talk and discuss music..it just flowed...
i swear...something is happening to me...

like i said earlier..i was so..gone today...i really watched so many love scenes from my fav movies to alleviate the bereavement i felt at Maan's pain...i am that affected...

and was listening to Creed..who is pure..poignancy in terms of voice...
and then wham this update and the one..in maaneet...so go figure...

No...you are not loosing it...and I can totally relate.....for me this is shocker...as i am not much of a writer at all...no where in your league.....But lately...when even I am replying to posts on the threads i created...I start the reply thinking one thing...and then as i type it out....a whole set of different words come out that end up expressing what i want to say better and in a totally different manner than I had originally thought of....does that make sense??
