Great update...and the samosa idea worked out...Thank God!!! Vicky is such a Sweetheart.....he finished frying the samosas and cleaned the kitchen tooo....Muuuuwwwah....Love him!!! Chapter 29

After disconnecting Nargis' call, Abs got busy with Gajjar ka halwa. She expertly finished the grating of carrots, in the mean time she had put milk to boil in a non stick, once the grated carrots were ready, she put them in the boiling milk, the proportion was always double and she let it boil on simmer. She removed the dress she was going to wear, hung it up and got her accessories all set up on the vanity table. She liked everything organized. She kept going into the kitchen to stir the boiling gajjar till all water content from it evaporated. Once the mix was almost dry she added sugar which is half the proportion of the gajjar, and let the water from the melting sugar evaporate, once nearing the consistency she desired, she added dry fruits, almonds, cardamom, raisins to the almost done halwa and added 2 table spoon of Ghee. She used this predominantly to bring the shine to the halwa. This was the best trick to have a relatively low fat sweet dish.

After finishing with the halwa, she put it in a glass bowl and garnished it with more dry fruits and wrapped the bowl with serine once cooled down enough.

Abs knew the halwa would be awesome, she was a very good cook and knew that this was one of her best dish. She gave a satisfied smile at her handy work and went to take a shower, she washed her hair, blow dried it and set it in loose yet manageable style that they will not fall all over the place. She had decided on a baby blue pure silk saree with a small silver border that would be appropriate for day wear. She accessorized it with cubic zirconia earring and pendent. She had clipped her hair off her face with a silver colored clip that showed off her features and at the same time enveloped her face. She wore her cartier watch, given by her dad when she had finished her degree. On the other wrists, she had gone for a few silver bangles that would jangle ever so lightly when she moved her hand. She completed her attire with silver sandals. She had applied light blue eye shadow, kohl for her eyes and a natural colored lipstick that enhanced her lips without adding too much color.

Just as she was finishing up her look, she heard her phone ring, She picked up and heard maan say, please open the door, I am almost there.

Maan had a bouquet in his hand when he reached the door, and that was the first thing Abs saw, when she opened the door. Beautiful red roses, a dozen arranged to look absolutely lovely. She was so touched with the gesture, that she almost had tears in her eyes.

Maan then looked from behind the flowers and said, beautiful flowers for my beautiful bride to be. I love it that you are so punctual. It is 10 minutes to 12 and you are ready.

Abs motioned him to come in as she was choking with emotion. Once in maan told Abs about Vicky and nargis' company will be with them for lunch. Abs nodded her knowledge. Maan then asked, where do you want the flowers, she just pointed to one of the tables near the window and went to the kitchen to get a vase.

Once flowers were all set in the vase, she finally said, what happened, Daadiji alright with Vicky and Nargis? Maan then elaborated what had transpired in the morning and also that being the reason he came early as he did not want to tell the details on the phone. He explained that daadiji had taken an exception to Nargis being Muslim but she also asked her to lunch to see what is to be done. We will have to give our full support to Vicky of course, you may not be able to push too hard, in case daadiji has any objections, but your moral support to Nargis will go a long way I think.

After elucidating and working out a small pointers for each other, they left Abs' apartment and started for home. A home Abs will be moving to in a couple of weeks. She was excited and nervous at the same time. Maan had loved the idea of Gajjar ka halwa though did not say whether daadiji will like it or not.

Abs had her fingers crossed for that one.

@ Vrushali: amazing updates! Vicky the azaad panchhi is such a family guy! Aww! Lucky Nargis! And red roses for me from hubby to be! 😳 And he shares his whole morning convo with me! Good, good. There should be no hidding secrets! Par usne mujhe nahin bataya Dadimaa ko halwa accha lagega ya nahin 😳 Aur yeh kaun sa raaz hai! Abs iss Khurana ghar ka w/ gajjar halwa?
