Hey guys................thanx a ton once again for the love showered.............honestly Nupur's birthday was my favourite part too, as i wrote it with lot of love and care..............

I m glad u all like it.

And i m sorry for not updating for so long...........work has been demading, but main reason was lack of inspiration............ but plz forgive me, coz i m dil se sorry..............

I m back with another part, and will keep updating as and when i can, till this MN story reaches a happy ending...........

I had written this part long long ago, but never posted, so here u go...........

Part 16:

Mayank sighed as he unlocked the door, he was invariably late and dead tired. Exams were approaching fast and thus his work has increased manifold. He was irritated by the fact the students who slept happily throughout the year, now suddenly needed counseling at the exam time. It was his job, and so he couldn't complain, but he was also tensed about his performance this year. His hurried transfer from Mumbai to Bangalore and back and all that transpired in between, had really been a set back as far as his preparations were concerned. And even now he was torn between college, job and Nupur. Nupur, his Nupur...involuntarily a smile crept up on his lips and he thought about his lovely wife, despite all hardships, he never regretted his marriage, not even for a single moment. He knew had he not married her that day, he would have lost her forever, and nothing would have mattered.

Putting aside all his thoughts, he walked inside the house, with a smile, to greet his wife, only to find her pacing around the drawing room, fuming in anger. He furrowed his brow in confusion, wondering what could be the reason that Morena Express was ready to explode. He chuckled at his own thought.

This startled Nupur as she turned around to look at him. His smiling face, angered her further. Here she was dying in worry, wondering about his whereabouts, and he simply walks in with a smile. God only knows, how many silent prayers she had sent above, and how many times she had blinked back her tears which were ready to spill, as she was unable to reach him.

As Mayank looked at her angry face, he realized that he had forgotten to call her again to inform about his whereabouts. Not his fault really, he was still to come to terms with the fact that he was married and has a wife is at home waiting for him.

He gave a sheepish smile to her, which she ignored and turned to other side. He sighed and walked towards her slowly, hugging her from behind, whispering in her ears, " I love u, Nupur".

The smile on his face, soon turned into shock, as she pushed him away, and turned around. Her eyes were full of unshed tears mirroring the pain in them.

"bas karo, Mayank,"...........Nupur said angrily, " har baar is tarah tum apni galti pe parda nahin daal sakte"

Mayank was perplexed, " par maine aise kya kiya hai, Nupur".......

"kya kiya hai?........haan tum to kabhi kuch galat karte nahin na, galat to bas main hi hoti hun, tum chahe, kitne baje bhi ghar aayo, inform bhi na karo, wo sab to chalta hai, hai na??" she asked sarcastically.

Mayank heaved a long sigh, " Nupur mujhe kaam tha, itni si baat ke liye tum............."

"itni si baat..??.......", Nupur cut him, " haan tumhare liye to ye itni si baat hi hai na, tumhe kya pharak padta hai, yahan koi tumhare phikr mein mar jaaye, tumhe usse kiya.

Sach to ye hai, ki ab tum mujhse pyar hi nahin karte, ab mein tumhare liye ek obligation ban chuki hun."

"bas Nupur, ", Mayank shouted loosing his control, he held her roughly by shoulder "main bahar ghumne nahi jaata hun, kaam karta hun, taaki tumhe khush rakh sakun, taaki tumhe koi complain na ho."......

He left her and continued, "par nahin, tumhe to bas complain karna aata hai. Tumne kabhi mujhe samajhne ki koshish nahin ki. Job, college aur tumhare beech mein pis gaya hun. Main nahin chahta ki Bauji ye kahein ki main unki beti ka khyal nahin rakh sakta, ek baar mein apna self-respect kho chuka hun, ab aur nahin."

" to tum saaf saaf kyun nahin kehte, ki tumhe is shaadi se pachtava hai, ki maine tumhare zindagi mein aake tumhari zindagi barbad kar di, yehi kehna hahte ho na tum"........Nupur said bitterly.

Mayank closed his fists tightly in anger, tired after day's work, and mentally stressed, he was not in a position to think logically. Frustration got the better of him, and he shouted back, " haan yehi kehna chahta hun main".

Tears welled up in Nupur's eyes and flowed down her cheeks as she stared at him in disbelief. She was half expecting him to deny it, rebuke her and tell her that he loves her the most. But his acceptance, was like a knife stabbed in her heart. Unable to face him anymore, she ran inside.

Mayank stared back in space, dejectedly, as he saw her running inside. Her tears had melted his anger away, and now what he felt was only pain, the pain he had given her. He regretted his words, knowing he should have controlled his anger.

Their relationship has always been like this, sweet and sour, full of unfound accusations in anger and lots of love otherwise.

He banged the table in frustration, as he realized that he has hurt her immensely. Ofcourse the fault was his, that he didnt inform her about being late, and naturally in her worry, she took out her frustration on him, he kicked himself mentally for getting carried away.

He walked towards the room, only to see her crying lying down on the bed. It broke his heart to see her like this. He sat down next to her, and said remorsefully, " Nupur, i m sorry, wo main gusse mein......"

She sat up, her face with wet with tears, streaming down from her eyes, and barged in, " Gusse mein tumne sach keh diya, tum is shadi se khush nahi ho, meri wajah se tumhari life kharab ho gayi na, to tum kyun sorry bol rahe ho, i m sorry Mayank, sorry ki mein tumhari life mein aayi".

Mayank couldnt bear it anymore, he pulled her closer, and said painfully, "chup bilkul chup, Nupur main jaanta hun mujhse galti ho gayi, par sach mano, mein is shadi se bahut khush hun, agar mein tum he kho deta, to pata nahin jee bhi pata ki nahi"..

She immediately kepta finger on his lips, to stop him from saying further, "aisa sab bolna jaroori hai kya, tum kabse filmy ho gaye, aisa kabhi mat bolna, samjhe?"......

Mayank smiled faintly at her cuteness, and pulled her closer, wiping her tears amd said, "nahin bolunga, par tum bhi mujhse naraaz mat hona, i m really sorry, Nupur."

Nupur smiled through her tears, and cheekily replied, "haan lo tum bhi kya yaad rakhoge, Nupur Bhushan Sharma, ne tumhe maaf kiya"...hugging him, as he wrapped his arms tightly around her.

After a while, he shook Nupur, who was still lost in his arms, " Nupur, mujhe bahut bhook lagi hai, dinner milega kya?".......

She immediately let go of him, and got up muttering, " by god, main to bhool hi gayi, tum bhi na, Mayank, mujhe itna pareshan kar dete ho, abhi jaldi aao, mein khana lagati hun, tum to na..........."

He smiled as she moved into the kitchen, hoping he can always keep her happy.

Later they had their dinner, with Nupur fussinmg over Mayank's diet and he eating quietly, for a change, relishing the care of his wife.

As she slipped into the bed, next to her sleeping husband, snuggling closer to him, marveling at her luck, for getting a perfect life partner. No matter how unreasonable she behaved, he was always there by her side. She knew that he wasnt at complete fault today, and she should have been a little more patient. As she looked at his calm face, she thought of a perfect plan to make it up to him. Yes, it was time to use the chart, and she smiled as she closed her eyes, imagining the surprised look on her darling husband's face.
