Young actor Avika Gor, who shot to fame as Anandi in Balika Vadhu, is being replaced after the five year leap

The speculations are over and it's official that Avika Gor will be replaced as the favourite Balika Vadhu. The hit show that has been running on Colors will take a five year leap and Shweta Prasad of Makdee fame has been was approached to reprise the famous role of Anandi. However, the channel is still in its contemplating stage.
A source close to the development says, "The character of Anandi popularised by Avika Gor is expected to go through a complete makeover — from a chirpy child bride to a poised young woman. Along with Avika, Avinash who plays little Jagya is also expected to be replaced."
The informer adds, "The young adults will be seen trying to deal with graver and tenser situations in life. All those fans who have rooted for little Avika a.k.a Anandi are sure to be disappointed to see their little darling going off air. But as far as the story itself is concerned, the five year leap is sure to bring in some refreshing change, some newer challenges and a lot more excitement to the show."
The sources from the TV channel inform After Hrs that this change in the plot would happen mid-July.
