Chapter 2:
Dev, by then, began to worry, for two reasons. First, he was called to the hospital and that meant some was in danger. Second, he just sounded like an irresponsible fool to his brother. "Oh darn" he exclaimed as he quickly through on some clothes and ran out of his room to the hospital. "I am in so much trouble" he thought, not realizing that there was another added worry waiting for him when he got to the hospital.

The couple had reached Sanjivani by then, where at the front desk, he asked the receptionist for Dr. Armaan Mallik.
"Dr. Mallik is busy right now. I'll tell Dr. Chadda to be right with you, Sir. If you can please sit in the waiting room" she responded, as she lead the two to the room nearby.
Five minutes later, a doctor entered the room, "Mr. Khurana?" she questioned, as she looked around the room.
Immediately the two got up, as Dr. Chadda led them into the patient room next door. "Hi! I'm Dr. Muskaan Chadda and I'll be the one taking care of you today. So what was the reason you two came to the hospital?" she asked, looking at each of them with a huge grin on her face.
"We wanted to get a Paternity test done for her child" he replied, not returning the bright smile on the doctor's face, and instead, just grimacing at the woman standing next to him.
The doctor's grin suddenly turned into a frown, "Mr. Khurana. Are you saying that you suspect your wife for cheating on you and think that she's carrying someone else's baby?"
Both of them looked at each other, as the frowns turned immediately into shocked faces. She, however, was quick to respond. "Who said I'm his wife. I am not Mrs. Khurana."
"Ohhh. So you're accusing him of being the father and he wants proof right? These men na, they're always like this. Getting you pregnant, and not wanting any responsibility for the consequences" Muskaan said, as she shook her head.
However, before the girl could respond, Mr. Khurana stepped in. "Excuse me. No one came here to listen to you talk. I want the paternity test don't and the baby's father will be here soon. So just take her with you now and do what you have to do. No unnecessary chatting. You got that?" he yelled, as he glared at the doctor for interfering in his personal life.
The doctor, suddenly aware of this man's mountainous temper, silently led the girl away into the lab, where the testing was being done. Mr. Khurana went back into the waiting room, ready to kill his brother for being so late.

Thirty minutes later, Dev came running into the hospital, huffing and puffing and dreading his future encounter with his brother. He asked the receptionist at the front desk where Mr. Khurana was, and when she pointed to the waiting room nearby, he began to run towards there.
As he stood in the doorway, he saw his brother talking to some doctor. "Bhaiya!" he called out, "Is everything ok?"
His brother, and the two ladies that were with him, turned around to look at the door. Dev was shocked at what he saw. "G…G…Geet?" he questioned, his voice shaking like crazy. "Wh..What are you doing here?"
At that, his brother's eyes narrowed and a sharp glare came across him. "Dev. Go with the doctor right now. She needs to take some tests, kyun doctor?" he said, glancing over at Muskaan Chadda, who responded quickly by nodding her head.
Realization dawned upon Dev as he realized that Geet was with his brother. She had told her brother she was pregnant! He had to do something. Now! He quickly turned around, wanting to speak to his brother. "Woh..woh bhaiya…" he began.
"Dev. Shut up. I don't want to hear anything now. Go with the doctor now, and I'll hear everything you have to tell me once the tests are over and we get the results back."
Dev hung his head in shame as he followed the doctor out the door, turning around to glance at his brother and Geet one last time.

Back in the waiting room, Geet was standing with him quietly, waiting for him to say something. Anything. However, the room was as quiet as a graveyard. Not being able to stand the silence, she finally spoke up. "Now you understand na, that I wasn't lying? Your brother knows me."
He however, still defended his brother, even though deep down, realization was dawning on him that whatever Geet had been saying previously may actually have some truth to it. "Just because he knows you doesn't mean anything. It still definitely does not mean that he fathered your baby" he retorted, the anger and frustration growing in his voice.
Geet threw a murderous glance at him as she replied "Of course not. You think this is my favorite pastime, na? Accusing people of being my baby's father? Humph. You arrogant rich people" she mumbled, under her breath, before plopping down into one of the chairs in the room, leaning her head against the wall and closing her eyes.
He just stared in wonder at this girl, shocked and surprised by her audacity to respond to every one of his responses, the same fiery retorts. A small smile formed upon his face while he stared at her, falling asleep, This girl was definitely something new, something he had never seen before, and he liked it.
"Woahhh. Hold on Mr. Khurana. What are you thinking? A girl? You like a GIRL? Get a hold of yourself," he ordered himself, quickly turning away from the object of his thoughts, and walking towards the window, looking down at the streets below that were bustling with activity. Leaning against the wall, he himself had no idea when he had fallen asleep.
A while later, a soft cough woke up the couple in the waiting room, and they looked up only to see Dr. Chadda standing there with a grim look on her face. The two glanced quickly at each other, before he turned to her, asking "Dr. What happened?"
"Well Mr. Khurana…." she began.
