Note:

This obviously fits the criteria. This song was made for a fun/playful round. And that's why its here.

Well sung by Kavita! Great song and great singing, perfect song selection for this round!

She starts off sweetly singing some classical notes. Then the real singing starts. Very well done, full of emotion, and wonderfully executed. The low notes were well done, and just great overall.

And then the post main sequence was great as well.

Yoonhi bin baat ke chhalke jaaye hansi
Dole jab hawa laage gudugudi
Sambhaloon gir padoon
Arre arre arre arre arre tauba kya karoon
Chaloon seedhe ki ulti chaloon

She sings in a higher pitch to start out with, and then transitions to the main sequence very well.

Overall, great singing by Kavitaji here. Absolutely flawless. She had the right emotion, which was necessary to make this song such a big hit. Sang her high and low notes well like usual. Song wasn't that tough, but still provided some challenges, which she took care of. Though one wishes there was a sweeter voice singing this song, it's not a song you would expect out of Kavita, but she still sang it well.

It was a little better than Alka's (8), and a little worse than Shreya's (9).....I think because it was flawless, great expression, and well done in high and low notes...

Rating: 9/10

I've grown to like the song. The singing is flawless - no doubt about that.

I hate scoring Kavita K's singing because it's just SO good. What can I say? The sur was perfect, the expression was perfect, throw was perfect, the voice was sweet. PERFECT!

And she achieved this at a time when CD's were recorded completely accoustically! If you listen to Shreya's singing in 'Yeh Ishq Hai' carefully you can tell that it has been software'd somewhere down the line. You can also here strains of the original dubbing artist (Indian Idol's own Antara Mitra) in the background! But Kavita K doesn't need any of this - she is truly a complete playback singer and if I dare to find a fault with her, I ought to get my ears checked first!

9/10 because it wasn't 'Main Vari Vari'!

PS: @ssk: The ad lib portion in the beginning was not 'classical notes' (what makes a note 'classical' anyway?) - it was scat singing. Oh, and Alka Yagnik was the most dominant female playback singer of the 1990's.

Depends on how you define dominant. 😉
Not in my definition. Maybe in your world where quantity defines dominance more than quality.

In my interpretation, you dominate the music industry when you successfully edge out all the competition (Sadhana Sargam, Anuradha Paudwal, Kavita Krishnamurty and others that we dont even remember today) to bag most of the songs available!

Usually the word 'best' not dominant is used for things of the highest quality.

This is my all time favorite songs of Kavita..Right amount of playfulness..one can imagine a young girl really excited about life in general when you listen to this song..esp some of her lines "Tell me O khuda", "Ab mein kya karoon"!!

A 10/10 from me👍🏼

Such a sweet song.. Brings a smile immediately :)

I liked the way, the song starts. The ad lib is youthful and has innocence to it. Kavita ji handled the song wonderfully well. In fact, I felt her voice much better than Kumar Sanu here. The way she emphasized the word "peechay" renders beauty to the line. Sometimes, I felt some sharp points in the singing. Never-the-less, it is yet again beautiful singing from Kavita ji. Pronunciation is correct and emphasis is done reasonably well on every word.

The expressions are apt. The spontaneity required for the lines, for example "Tell Me O Khuda", is correctly brought forward. The innocence and happiness of the girl are beautifully mingled in here in the voice of Kavita ji. Still I felt the lack of a 'wow' factor here. A fantastic performance no doubt. But, due to some minor flaws, I will have to cut down one mark.

So, My score will be 9 out of 10 for this ever-green track

Ok ... trying hard to listen to this song critically ... but no i just can't ... it is just so expressively sung and makes u wanna dance freely ... however u want ... wherever u r 😳
i love this movie and all the songs in this movie and this is my most fav of them all 👏
i think kavitaji was much much beyond kumar sanu in this song and he was merely accompanying her!
I will give her a 10/10 for the expressions that give a life to this song!!
This one and yeh ishq were the best possible choices for this round!!! 👏
