The next morning while Angad and Kripa are getting things ready to take over to the Bose Mansion where the sangeet and mehndi will be taking place, Aryan, KK and Karan get ready to go see Angad's dad Suyesh. They head downstairs and meet Angad on the way out

A – you know you don't need to go see him

KK – we do dad, we'll be back in an hour

A – we'll be waiting

They get into KK's car and KK drives them to Suyesh's house, Karan gets out and rings the doorbell and a servant answers

Ser – oh hello Karan Sir, what can I do for you?

Kar – is dadaji here?

Ser – sorry sir but he's at the office

Kar – ok thanks

Karan gets back in to the car

Kar – he's at the office

KK drives them to Suyesh's office, all three get out and head in to the building, they see the receptionist

R – yes?

KK – is Mr Khanna here?

R – yes sir but he's in a meeting

Kar – well can you tell him his grand sons are here to see him?

R – one moment please

The receptionist picks up the telephone and speaks to someone then hangs up

R – please take a seat, Mr Khanna will be with you shortly

The guys sit down in the waiting area, after half an hour Suyesh comes in to the waiting area, the guys stand up

Suy – Karan, KK, Aryan, it's so nice to see you

Karan and Aryan hug Suyesh, while KK rolls his eyes and simply smiles

Suy - what brings you here?

Kar – can we go someone more private?

Suy – sure, follow me

Suyesh leads the boys to his cabin where Aryan and Karan sit with him on the sofa while KK walks around the office and sits in Suyesh's chair

Suy – can I get you anything?

Ar – no we're ok uncle

Suy – so?

KK – do you know what day it was yesterday?

Suy - Friday?

KK shakes his head, leans back in the chair and starts flicking through some of Suyesh's files

Suy – KK leave those alone please, they're very important files

KK – yeah well yesterday was an important day for us

Suy – I don't understand...

KK – yeah you wouldn't...

Kar – KK chill, let me handle it

KK – fine whatever

Kar – it was the engagement ceremony yesterday, mine and Tia's and KK and Roshni's. Dad called you and told you

Suy – it was yesterday?

KK gets up from the chair and walks over to Suyesh

KK – yes it was yesterday but obviously you had something way more important to do right? Just like at dad's retirement party last year? Just like all the birthdays and Christmas parties and everything else that has mattered to us?

Karan and Aryan stand up, Aryan puts a hand on KK's shoulder

Ar – KK calm down

KK – how can I calm down? Papa was waiting for him all day, just like every other day, and again he gets disappointed, I don't know why he even bothers, it's obvious you don't give a crap about your own son!

Suy – it isn't like that

Suyesh stands up and faces KK

KK – then what is it like, please enlighten me

Kar – KK stop getting so angry, at least give him a chance to explain

KK – how can you take his side Karan? He missed our engagements!

Kar – I am not taking his side, I'm just not getting angry like you are, getting angry isn't going to solve anything, now shut up and let me talk to him

KK turns the other way while Karan faces Suyesh

Kar – so why didn't you come? To the engagements and to everything else we've invited you to for?

Suy – because it's hard for me to come to the house without thinking of Kunal and Naina

KK turns back around looking shocked.

KK – you find it hard because you don't want to think about Bade papa and dadiji? Well how do you think we feel? We live there remember! Do you even have the slightest idea of how papa feels? He loses his brother, then he loses his mom, and yeah we were there for him, but did you think that maybe the person he needed the most was you? And instead of coming closer you drive yourself away? Don't we mean anything to you, are we not important?

Suy – I understand what you're saying, and of course I know how Angad is feeling, I'm his father

KK – His father? Are you serious? What have you done for him to call yourself his father? You spent most of his life in Australia and when you came back here you distanced yourself from him. Tell me who was there for him when he needed help raising us? It wasn't you, it was dadiji, and who was there for him when dadiji died? We were, you know I'm glad dad was raised by you, otherwise he'd turn out to be exactly like you, a lame excuse for a father!

KK storms out of the room, Suyesh sighs and turns to look at Karan

Suy – Karan...

Kar – look the weddings are on Saturday, we'd appreciate it if you come, if you don't then I guess I'll have to accept what KK said, that we're not important to you

Karan walks out of the office to look for KK. Aryan looks at Suyesh and puts his hand on his shoulder, Suyesh looks at him

Suy – KK hates me, he always has

Ar – Don't think that, KK is just emotional when it comes to the people he cares for, especially Angad chachu. Look I have no right saying this, but unless you show that you do care then Karan is going to start behaving like KK, the mehndi and sangeet ceremonies are today, do us all a favour and come ok?

Aryan gives a small smile before leaving, he finds KK and Karan sitting in the car, he gets in the back

Ar – guys you ok?

KK – of course we're ok, its the mehndi and sangeet ceremonies today, we're not exactly going to ruin our moods because of him are we?

KK smiles, Karan nods his head and KK drives them back to the Khanna Mansion to get changed for the ceremonies. The Bose Mansion is all decked up as the sangeet and mehndi ceremonies are taking place there, Ria, Roshni and Tia are wearing white salwar suits while Aryan, KK and Karan are wearing white kurtas with jeans, everyone is sitting in the main living room, Kripa, Suhana and Kashish are sitting with the women sorting out the preparations for the ceremony while Angad, Prithvi and Sujal are with the men keeping out of the women's way. The guys are sitting together staring at the girls sitting across the room.

KK – ok so are we just going to sit here staring at the girls or are we going to be men and go over and talk to them?

Ar – KK's right, we can't sit here, they'll think we're scared of Suhana Aunty otherwise, come lets show them that we can take charge

Kar – Ok, guys, let's go

The guys stand up, on the other side Tia notices the guys walking towards them, she nudges Ria and Roshni

T – the guys are coming here

The girls look over

R – no they're probably just going to talk to someone

T – no, they're walking in our direction

Ri – whatever, knowing the guys, they'll walk towards us, get scared and walk back, just watch

The girls watch as the guys walk towards them, the guys are looking straight at the girls, KK is in front and suddenly stops causing Aryan and Karan to crash into him, they look at KK wondering what the problem is when they see Suhana

Su – and where do you think you're going?

KK – bathroom?

Karan looks at Aryan who shrugs his shoulders, Suhana folds her arms then points in the opposite direction

Su – bathroom is that way, you should know that by now

KK – yeah, I WAS going to the bathroom, now I was about to go over to mum and ask if she needed any help...with anything...

Suhana looks at him unconvinced, KK glances back at Karan who closes his eyes and lightly hits himself on his forehead

Su – I think we have everything under control, now why don't you boys go sit back down and wait for the mehndi ceremony to finish

Ar – but why can't we join in the ceremony?

Aryan bites his tongue as he realises he actually said it rather than think it, Karan and KK look at him wide eyed, Aryan looks at Suhana who looks slightly shocked

Su – because the mehndi ceremony is for girls, when its time for the sangeet ceremony, we'll let you boys know, now go sit down

KK – but...

Su – go!

The guys look from Suhana to the girls and slowly turn around and reluctantly sit down, the girls watch all this and start laughing

Ri – what did I say? So predictable, scared of mum

Suhana walks over to the girls

Su – its time for the mehndi ceremony

Kashish and Kripa join Suhana in taking the girls to the centre of the living room where the rest of the women are gathered, they start applying mehndi on all three girls, meanwhile the guys have been sent out of the room by Kripa, all three are standing by the door wondering how they can sneak in without getting in to trouble, Aryan slowly opens the door and they start peeking into the room, after a few minutes of struggling KK feels someone tap his shoulder, he turns and gets shocked to see Prithvi, he reaches out and taps Karan who shakes his hand off, KK frantically starts shaking both Aryan and Karan who get angry and turn around ready to yell at KK but also get shocked seeing Prithvi

P – spying on the girls?

KK – no...we were...

Prithvi looks at him and KK slowly nods his head agreeing

P – well I doubt you're going to see anything from there, but I know somewhere that you'll get a better view

Kar – chachu...you...

P – come with me

Prithvi turns but the boys stay where they are, he turns back around

P – come on before I change my mind

The boys quickly follow Prithvi, he opens another door and the boys realise they're in the same room but on the opposite side, Prithvi signals for them to be quiet, he leans closer and whispers

P – you guys come here all the time, how did you forget that this room used to be two rooms but we converted it to one, so they're would obviously be two doors

KK – it didn't occur to us

P – well I think because of this curtain, everyone forgot there was ever a door here

Prithvi points to the curtain, Karan touches it slightly

Kar – are you sure they can't see us?

P – positive, enjoy yourself, but if you get caught, don't blame me

Aryan, Karan and KK find the centre of the curtain and pull it apart slightly and as Prithvi said, they could see the girls perfectly, Aryan turns and smiles at Prithvi, he smiles back and quietly opens the door and slips out. The three boys try to adjust themselves to see the girls but the small space by the middle of the curtain is awkward for them

Ar - how is this going to work?

KK – Karan check if there's any other partings

Karan walks up and down touching the curtain, he finds one parting, Aryan runs there, Karan continues looking and finds another parting, the three guys give each other a thumbs up and continue staring at their lady loves. On the other hand the women are still applying mehndi on the girls, Suhana is staring at Ria and Tia and a small tear falls from her eyes, Kripa and Kashish see and hug her, Suhana touches Ria and Tia's cheeks and begins singing Mehndi hai Rachnewaali from Zubeidaa

(Suhana)

Mehndi hai rachnewaali, haathon mein gehri laali

Kahe sakhiyaan, ab kaliyaan (The boys watch as the girls get their mehndi done)

Haathon mein khilnewaali hain

Tere mann ko, jeevan ko

Nayi khushiyaan milnewaali hai (the girls are smiling, Roshni is looking around, she spots KK and gets shocked)

(Kashish)

Mehndi hai rachnewaali, haathon mein gehri laali

Kahe sakhiyaan, ab kaliyaan (Roshni nudges Ria and Tia, they both look and see Aryan and Karan)

Haathon mein khilnewaali hain

Tere mann ko, jeevan ko

Nayi khushiyaan milnewaali hai

(Suhana)

O hariyali banno (Aryan winks at Ria)

Le jaana tujhko guiyyaan aane waale hai saiyyaan (He signals for her to show him her hands)

Thaamenge aake baiyyaan, goonjegi shehnaayi

Angnaayi, angnaayi (Ria shakes her head)

Mehndi hai rachnewaali, haathon mein gehri laali

Kahe sakhiyaan, ab kaliyaan (Aryan pleads with his eyes)

Haathon mein khilnewaali hain (Ria shakes her head and looks the other way smiling)

Tere mann ko, jeevan ko

Nayi khushiyaan milnewaali hai

(Kashish)

Gaaye maiya aur mausi, gaaye behna aur bhabhi (Karan and Tia smile at each other)

Ke mehndi khil jaaye, rang laaye hariyaali banni (He points to his hands then points at her)

Gaaye phoofi aur chaachi, gaaye naani aur daadi

Ke mehndi mann bhaaye, saj jaaye hariyaali banni (Tia looks around)

Mehndi roop sanwaare, o mehndi rang nikhaare, ho

Hariyaali banni ke aanchal mein utrenge taarein (She lifts her hands slightly)

Mehndi hai rachnewaali, haathon mein gehri laali

Kahe sakhiyaan, ab kaliyaan (Karan is about to see but Suhana comes in front of Tia)

Haathon mein khilnewaali hain

Tere mann ko, jeevan ko (Suhana moves, Tia shrugs her shoulders at Karan)

Nayi khushiyaan milnewaali hai

(Kripa)

Gaaje, baaje, baraati, ghoda, gaadi aur haathi ko (KK looks at Roshni, she blushes)

Laayenge saajan tere aangan, hariyaali banni

Teri mehndi woh dekhenge (He puts his hands out)

To apna dil rakhdenge woh (Roshni nods her head in agreement)

Pairon mein tere chupke se, hariyaali banni

Mehndi roop sanwaare, o mehndi rang nikhaare, ho (She looks around and puts her hands out)

Hariyaali banni ke aanchal mein utrenge taarein

Mehndi hai rachnewaali, haathon mein gehri laali (KK can see the faint lines of the mehndi)

Kahe sakhiyaan, ab kaliyaan

Haathon mein khilnewaali hain (He smiles and tells her its beautiful)

Tere mann ko, jeevan ko

Nayi khushiyaan milnewaali hai

Aryan and Karan go back to the middle where KK is and lean on his shoulders, all three are staring at the girls, KK tries to get the guys to stop leaning on his shoulder, and he tries to shrug them off Karan pushes him slightly but it is enough to make KK fall forward, as Aryan and Karan are leaning on him all three fall forward, the women get shocked, the boys slowly get up looking rather shocked, Kashish and Kripa walk forward looking rather angry, Kripa pulls KK's and Karan's ears while Kashish grabs hold of Aryan's ear, the boys are about to say something but the glares given to them by their mothers make them think twice, Kashish and Kripa open the door and shove the boys out, Kripa folds her arms while the boys hold their ears

KK – sorry mum

K – now stay out

Kripa shuts the door on their faces, the boys look at each other wondering what to do now.
