Mumbai, March 29 (IANS) Priyanka Chopra will make her debut on TV as the host of 'Fear Factor - Khatron Ke Khiladi' and says she will be more than up to cracking what's seen to be a male domain.
'Just because I'm a girl it shouldn't be presumed that I can't enter the boys' territory. I'd do the stunts better than the boys,' Priyanka told IANS.
The special edition of the show will feature Indian as well as international cricketers competing with each other to vie for the 'Fear Factor - Khaton Ka Khiladi' title for 2010.
'And cricketers are people I'm very cool with. Not that I know the cricket world that well. It will be great getting to know them,' said the actress who has her own stunts planned for the show.
'All I can tell you is that the stunts this year are going to be bigger and scarier than they were on the show last year. Now we've male contestants instead of female and I've to match up to them,' she said.
'I was getting a lot of television offers for the last couple of years. But the amount of time that those shows required didn't suit me. Besides nothing excited me. 'Fear Factor' is one of my favourite shows. And it goes with my personality. I'm sporty and spontaneous.
'The channel didn't have to convince me much. The pay-cheque? Ah, let's say it's the cherry on the icing,' she added.
Priyanka is also excited about shooting for the adventure reality show in Brazil because she has never visited that part of the world.
'I'm looking forward to shooting the show there. I haven't seen Brazil. So July onwards I'm going to be basking in Brazilian territory,' she said.
https://bit.ly/cxBOkHThe actress, who is currently shooting for Saath Khoon Maaf, says that day was memorable for her. "When I went up to the President to receive my National Award, I was choked with emotion. I cried when I walked off the stage," says Priyanka.
She believes she got the award and the role only because of director Madhur Bhandarkar, who cast her in Fashion. "I went there only because of Madhur. He is the only one responsible for it, for showing his faith in me when offering me the role," said Priyanka, "the way that he directed the movie is outstanding." She has high hopes also for her current film, which is being directed by Vishal Bharadwaj. Asked if she thought it would also pick up some awards, she said: "I hope so. Kaminey was a fantastic film but Saath Khoon Maaf is also unbelievable. Vishal has his own imagination."
She said she wasn't just looking at awards for herself: "I will be glad if Vishal himself wins an award for his dedication to his work," says Priyanka, "and in this movie you will see some fantastic actors as well, which I'm looking forward to also." Priyanka is making her debut on television, hosting Fear Factor III, with cricketers. "Television did not happen suddenly to me. I was getting offers but nothing excited me. I am a sporty person, and so when I got the offer for Fear Factor they don't have to patao me. I agreed easily," says Priyanka.
