Kar - he's my brother, I still can't believe they sent him away, but everything will be ok now
R - thanks....
Kar - its ok
Karan hugs Roshni, she leaves after they chat for a while, both are anticipating KK's arrival
Part 37
Roshni eagarly awaits for the day to end so the next day can arrive quicker so that KK can come home quicker, but even as the day ends and night arrives, she is unable to sleep, she tosses and turns in bed and after what seems like a century she falls asleep. The sun shines into Roshni's room as well as her life, she wakes up feeling happy, she hurries to the bathroom and gets changed. After she makes her way downstairs only to bump into Aryan, she gives him a warm hug, he looks confused but hugs her back, he pulls away and she kisses his cheek
Ar - to what do I owe that honour?
R - no reason, I'm just happy
Ar - happy? oh yeah.....KK's coming home today
Roshni grins, Aryan warmly puts his arm around her shoulder and the two walk towards the kitchen
Ar - I'm glad....things seem to be working out now
Roshni and Aryan go into the kitchen, Kashish sees Roshni's happy expression and smiles, Roshni greets both Sujal and Kashish with warm hugs, she sits opposite Kashish while Aryan sits opposite Sujal, Roshni looks at Kashish
R - mum..
Ka - yes?
R - I'm going to be going to Karan's house later....is that ok?
Before Kashish has the chance to reply, Sujal puts his newspaper down and speaks
S - no
Roshni looks up at Sujal
R - why?
S - because I don't want you going there
R - but KK's....
S - exactly, I don't want you near him
Roshni looks at Aryan
Ar - come on dad, they've spent months away from each other, you never wanted her seeing him in the mental hospital, she obeyed, but don't deny her the chance of seeing him now that he's coming back
S - I've made my decision, that's it
Roshni looks hurt, she leaves the room, Aryan and Kashish look at Sujal
Ka - Sujal I think...
S - please Kashish, I don't want Roshni going to their house, what if KK...
Ar - he would never hurt her dad
S - I can't take that risk
Ar - you know I never thought you'd be against your own daughter's happiness
Aryan shakes his head at Sujal and leaves the kitchen, Kashish looks sad but carries on having breakfast. Meanwhile at the mental hospital Karan and Angad are carrying out the final formalities, Karan leads KK out of the hospital, he sits silently in the car, Angad keeps glancing at him
A - cheer up kid
KK - sorry dad
A - there's no need to say sorry...in fact I should be the one saying sorry
Kar - dad can we do this later please?
A - sure....
Angad, Karan and KK arrive at the Khanna Mansion, Angad heads inside while KK is staring at the house, Karan glances at him
Kar - what's up?
KK - nothing, just looking at the house
Kar - ok...shall we go?
KK - yeah
Karan leads KK into the house, they see Angad with Kripa who looks angry, KK smiles seeing her, he steps forward but Kripa puts her hand up telling him to stop, she turns and heads upstairs, Angad sighs, he turns to KK and smiles apologetically
A - I'll talk to her
KK - yeah...
Angad heads upstairs, KK and Karan head into the living room and are greeted by several party poppers and party blowouts, KK waits for it to finish before opening his eyes, Karan grins and helps him take the strings from the party poppers off his head, KK looks and sees Aryan who greets him with a bear hug
Ar - welcome home dude
Aryan blows the party blowout in KK's face making him smile, Aryan moves out of the way for Ria, she comes forward and pulls another party popper on KK's head before hugging him
KK - thanks for the head accessory, it's like I have dreadlocks
Ri - I know...and they look totally cool!
Ria starts messing around with the string but KK stops her and throws the strings at her, she gives him another hug, he turns and faces Tia, he looks upset, he puts his arms out and Tia hugs him, he kisses her hair softly
KK - I think I owe you the biggest apology, seeing what you did....putting you through all that...
T - KK, it's ok, lets just forget the past
KK - yeah
KK hugs her again, he pulls away and looks around the room, when he realises no one else is there he and Karan both look at Aryan
Ar - sorry dude, dad didn't let her come
Kar - why?
Ri - he thinks KK might do something....
KK - I don't blame him...
Kar - come on, we'll go to her house
KK - later...I want to see mum first
Ar - yeah you should, so we'll be coming round later to catch you both up on all the gossip
KK - yeah I heard about the engagement, congrats
KK hugs Aryan and Ria
Ri - we'll see you later ok?
KK - sure
Aryan and Ria leave, Tia stays with Karan while KK walks upstairs, he sees Angad and Kripa in their room and can tell they've been arguing, he knocks on the door causing them both to stop and look at the door, Angad smiles awkwardly and gestures for KK to come into the room, KK does so, he stands by them both
KK - I wanted to talk to mum
A - of course...
Angad glances at Kripa before leaving, Kripa avoids looking at KK, she turns around and goes to her cupboard and pretends to sort out some clothes
KK - mum...
Kripa doesn't turn around
KK - I know you're angry at me....what I did was unforgivable...
K - yes you're right!
Kripa turns around glaring at KK
K - you stabbed your brother!
KK - I know...
K - and you acted like you didn't care!
KK - of course I cared...I just kind of shut down....
K - save it KK...I don't want to hear it
KK - but mum....I never meant to...
K - Kunal!
KK knows Kripa is angry, she never calls him Kunal unless she's very angry with him, KK bites the inside of his bottom lip, he turns and leaves the room, Kripa closes her eyes letting a few tears drop, she wipes them away and sits on the bed. KK goes into his room, well Karan's room, he sees the emptiness of the room and recalls moving his things to the spare room, he turns and heads to the spare room and finds his things, he goes to the table and begins searching the drawers, Karan who had heard Kripa's yelling and had come upstairs finds KK searching his cupboard
Kar - bro, what you looking for?
KK - my phone
Kar - oh yeah
Karan heads to his room and gets KK's phone and hands it to him
Kar - I think dad left it there
KK - thanks
Kar - you ok? mum sounded angry
KK - she needs time I guess
Kar - sure
Karan leaves, KK sits on the bed with the phone in his hand, he scrolls through the phonebook, his finger stopping at Roshni's name, he hesitates but calls the number, Kashish answers but KK stays silent, Kashish checks the caller ID and recognises KK's number
Ka - KK is that you?
KK gets startled
KK - ...yeah
Ka - how are you?
KK - I'm fine aunty...
Ka - do you want to speak to Roshni?
KK - if it isn't too much trouble..
Ka - sure
Kashish calls Roshni and hands her the phone, Roshni takes it not knowing who it is
R - hello?
KK - ....
R - hello? is anyone there?
KK - ....
Roshni glances at Kashish who mouths something, Roshni gets shocked, she bites her bottom lip before speaking
R - KK
KK - ....how did you know?
R - mum told me
KK - are you ok?
R - yeah, you?
KK - yeah....
R - I wanted to come see you...but dad...
KK - Aryan told me
R - I want to see you
KK - me too....but it might not be a good idea
R - why not?
KK - your dad...
Roshni is silent
KK - listen, I'll try and come to see you, no promises
R - thanks KK..
Before Roshni has a chance to say anything else the call gets disconnected, she looks at the phone confused and sees a finger on the disconnect button, she looks and sees Sujal, she slowly puts the phone down
S - I thought I made myself clear
R - you said I wasn't to see him...
S - well let me make it clear now....you are to have NO contact with him, understand?
R - but dad....
S - but nothing!
Roshni has tears in her eyes, she looks at him helplessly
R - I love him dad
S - I know
Roshni turns and runs upstairs, Sujal sighs and turns to face Aryan
Ar - do you want to make things worse?
S - what?
Ar - Roshni was about to marry Karan and KK stabbed him, his own brother, so what do you think he'll do when he's unable to see her, you're going to drive him over the edge
S - that boy is unstable for your sister
Ar - that boy is my best friend!
S - lower your voice Aryan
Ka - ok enough!
Kashish looks at them both
Ka - Aryan go make sure your sister is ok
Aryan mutters something under his breath before heading upstairs, Kashish looks at Sujal and follows him into the living room
Ka - Aryan is right, things might escalate if we keep Roshni and KK apart
S - I'm sorry Kashish, but I cannot have him anywhere near my daughter
Sujal walks off, Kashish sighs, she's about to go upstairs when the phone rings, she answers
Kar - Kashish aunty?
Ka - Karan? what's wrong?
Kar - KK was in his room, I think he was talking to Roshni
Ka - he was
Kar - he's just left, he didn't say anything but I think he's coming there
Ka - thanks Karan, I'll let Aryan know
Kashish hangs up, she heads upstairs to Roshni's room and finds Roshni hugging Aryan and crying
Ka - we have a problem
Ar - what?
Ka - KK is on his way here, Karan just informed me, I'm afraid it'll make things worse
Ar - I'll wait for him downstairs
Just as Aryan gets up they hear a car door slamming outside, Roshni looks outside the window and turns around
R - its KK
Aryan rushes downstairs but Sujal is already there facing KK, he rushes to them and stands in between the two
Ar - KK...why don't you come with me yeah...
Aryan holds KK by his arm to lead him outside but KK shrugs his arm off
KK - I want to talk to Sujal chachu....alone
Sujal turns and goes into the living room, KK follows him, Aryan looks at the stairs and sees Kashish with Roshni, he shrugs his shoulders and joins them, inside KK is sitting opposite Sujal, both are silent for a few minutes before KK speaks
KK - I want to apologise, first for runing Roshni's wedding, I know you were excited about it, and secondly, for calling Roshni, I should have spoken to you first
S - ok, you've done that
KK - chachu, I know you think I'm not fit for Roshni, but what I did was out of love, the thought of her not being mine, I couldn't let it happen....chachu I've heard all the stories about how mum and dad fell in love and how you fell in love with Kashish aunty...so you know the feeling right? The urge to do anything to be the one you love...
S - I wouldn't stab my brother
KK - at that moment in time, he wasn't my brother, he was the guy who was taking the girl I love away from me
S - KK, I've heard enough, I know you and Roshni love each other but it is in my daughter's best interest if you stay away from her
KK - I understand that, you're her dad, you want what's best for her, but seriously, is keeping me away from her going to make her happy? if you honestly believe that if I stay away from her, she'll be happy, if you can guarantee it, then I'll be out of her life
Sujal is silent
KK - I thought not, I'm not going to go behind your back anymore, I'm only going to see Roshni when you allow it
Sujal looks at KK, he smiles and stands up and leaves the room, he stands by the front door and turns to look at Roshni, she steps forward to go to him but KK shakes his head, turns and leaves, Kashish consoles Roshni while Aryan runs after KK stopping him by his car
Ar - what did you say to dad?
KK - that I'll only see Roshni when he allows it
Ar - normally I would agree with you, but I know Roshni isn't going to be happy about that
KK - listen, I have a feeling your dad will come round, he'll bring Roshni to me himself
Ar - damn it KK! you're ruining your own life as well as my sister's!
KK - it'll work out, trust me
KK leaves, Aryan heads back inside, KK heads back home, he goes inside to find Kripa sitting in the living room, he turns to go upstairs but stops and heads to the living room
Coming up - KK's emotional chat with Kripa, Angad goes to talk to Sujal, will he convince him to change his mind?
