Recession comes in various guises. And now creativity is also being curbed. Well, believe it or not, but soap queen Ekta Kapoor too seems to be following this. Balaji Telefilms' project on the glamour world, tentatively titled Fashion, has been put on hold.
A source informs, "Having a big budget show in recessionary times may not be a wise idea. As it is there's no point in investing much money when most shows are hardly drawing good ratings and you're not sure of profitability. Besides, what different can be shown when the public have seen the same in the film. As a result, Balaji has put the project on hold. There's even a possibility that the show might be shelved. Apparently, other projects of Balaji too are put on hold."
Adding further, the source says, "Earlier, Fashion was to come in place of Kitani Mohabbat hai but the latter's picked up in (TRP) ratings thereby forcing Balaji to delay their ambitious project. Also, the breakdown in relations with Popkorn Entertainment has also hit Balaji badly."
Creative head Vikas Goopta though denied that the show has been shelved. "This is not true. Fashion is not at all shelved."
