Kareena Kapoor backs out IIFA to play arm-candy to Saif
Mumbai, June 08: For a lady who swears to be a hardcore professional, Kareena Kapoor seems to be doing little to back her claims. The stunner, who had created a buzz by promising an exhilarating belly dance at the IIFA this year, has conveniently forgotten her commitment in exchange for some romantic moments with beau Saif Ali Khan in England.
Shocking as it may sound, but Bebo it seems has backed out of the much-hyped event to accompany her man to a T20 World Cup match. Saif, who has had a tie-up with T20 organisers for the promotion of his film 'Love Aaj Kal', will now be sporting his swishy arm-candy at the event.
Story goes that Bebo was all set to put up a grand show at the IIFA. Considering the stupendous fee she had charged for the event, Bebo had been training hard to put her best foot forward. She had not only prepared for her song 'Marjani' from 'Billu' but had also decided on her costume.
But now it seems the Bebo's love affair have made her professional plans go sour. Sources confirm that it was the 'Saif' factor that caused Bebo to back out, on the contrary buzz even has it that the futile negotiations with the IIFA organisers forced the belle to back out.
According to insiders Bebo wanted to be a showstopper and wished to perform the grand finale, but the show organisers failed to budge.
A news daily quoted a source as saying, "The negotiations fell through because the actress wanted to either be the opening act or the grand finale but the organisers refused to concede to her demands. Kareena was unhappy when the organisers refused to budge. The finale might be performed by the Bachchans Amitabh, Aishwarya and Abhishek."
