written update april 28th

Everyone in the living room… reema's bidai has just gotten over… babuji and amma talk about how they hope she will be happy… rukmini who is still reeling under the shock of what she heard… is unable to keep quiet any longer… blurts out… I hope her fate is better than mine… everyone shocked at her comment… when they react… she lashes out at akash… asking him to explain… why neelima, indu's colleague and friend was talking about leaving him for ever… everyone shocked and confused… except for indu and akash who realize she has heard everything. vishakha quietly takes the boy to his room. now rukhmani lashes out all the more, accuses akash of cheating her for years. Everyone thought she was being paranoid, but the truth is that her wife's instinct was right all along, he has been lying to her and cheating her all along, always giving excuses of meeting friends or going on teerath yatras etc. He has just been spending time having an illicit affair and he has a bloody mistress. All look questioningly; while unable to take more akash blurts out, she is not my mistress… she is my wife… everyone stunned…. Rukmani almost staggers back in shock. There is a stunned silence as only akash's voice is heard explaining, how he was married to neelima… but could not tell his family, so married rukmani too. Unable to hear more… rukmani looses control….pounds him on the chest…… accuses him of lying… just to cover his dirty affair… everyone tries to calm her down, rukmani refuses to believe he is married to her, finally indu is forced to speak up.. says to clam down … rukmani now lashes out at her… accuses her… of taking her friends' side… taking revenge on her… as they never got along… upset with the accusation indu tries to defend herself…. That she also just found out a couple of days ago but rukmani is no mood to listen.. just lashes out at both of them for ruining her life. Finally akash can't take anymore and he says, yes she is my first wife and I love her and she loves me… she's not like you who has always had some or the other grouse against me, who has never trusted me. Rukmani now screams then go to her… why stay with me… akash yells back.. yes I will… I only stayed away because I wanted to do right by you also… but now I realize one can never do right by a woman like you so I am out of here. Rukmani is now shell shocked, this is the last thing she expected. As akash moves to leave, indu tries to stop him, says this is not the solution, but he doesn't listen… the rest too try to stop him. As he leave rukmani almost collapses on the sofa.. indu rushes to support her, but she yells at her to stay away. Indu is hurt and moves back while amma and vishakha take her to her room. Indu now notices jumbo watching the whole thing from the gap between the steps, a horrified look on his face, she rushes up to him and cradles him in her arms and takes him to his room. Babuji watches this from below the steps, tears in his eyes. Arjun and pravin come back in, and babuji asks them, but they just shake their heads indicating that akash didn't listen to them. Neelima in her house, her bags are all packed to leave, she moves to the door, as she opens it, she is stunned to see akash standing there in a dishevelled state, and he says that I have left the house and my marriage forever. Neelima is shocked to see her husband in this state. Akash has now calmed down and he tells neelima that he has left his house forever to come and stay with her. She is shocked and for a moment unable to react. She finally she says, its too late for him to play husband, she is leaving forever, but akash reasons with her… when she still does not listen he says. She picks up her bag… reaches the door... and finally akash says the magic words… do not go... I love you… I need you… neelima is unable to take a step further… and akash finally comes and takes her in his arms. Indu is in her room arjun enters and sees her crying… rushes to comfort her, she tells him she does feel guilty, after all she had told neelima to come to the wedding… but arjun assures her that the fault if any lies with akash… after all the truth can't be hidden for long. However, indu is inconsolable… says that even though a small one… she did have a part in it. Then in a firmer voice, she says… she does not know how… but she knows she has to help get their marriage on track…one way or the other… a determined look on her face.
