Chapter 4
"Yes sir, if someone is willing to trade flight tickets with you, I am up for some hope with you." says the counter lady.
"OK, thanks for the help anyways." replies Yug, now thinking about his next step.
Behind, Ravs, unknown to the person infront of her, walks over to the Coffee booth and orders a Tim Hortons Ice Cap.
"Thanks." Ravs says as she hands the money over to the person on the counter.
"No problem mam" replies to cashier.
Ravjot smiles at the cashier and walks back towards the Air Canada Check-In counter. She had eventually gotten bored standing there listening to the argument of that person that Ravjot had decided to get herself an Ice Cap. Her favourite and to God's grace, the person was no longer there arguing with the lady on the counter. As she is walking towards the counter, she sees the same person that was wearing the exact coat that was arguing at the counter. Confused, and yet feeling sorry for that unknown stranger, she walks upto him and places her hand on his shoulder.
"Excause me?" she says.
The person turns around and looks straight into her eyes. He had a child like face, cute and Ravs guessed his age was just about hers. He had charming eyes, colourful but yet a hint of brown. His hair were over his forehead but they were still combed. Ravs keeps on staring at him, and so does he but it was not long before, the guy breaks the silence.
"Yes?" says Yug.
"Er...hi. What is wrong?" asks Ravjot, in a polite manner.
"Oh!...I just found out that I missed my flight due to an error in my ticket. And you don't know how important it is for me to get on the Air Canada flight that is leaving at 11am." replies Yug.
"Mmm..." says Ravjot, looking for the right words to say..."well, that is terrible but what is soo important that you HAVE to get onto the flight?"
Ravjot was thinking about giving away her flight ticket if it was extremly important for him to get on the plane.
"Actually, my..." Yug needed a story for Ravjot but then why was she asking? It was not like she was going to travel on the same plane as him. Yug just shrugs that thought off. "Why do you want to know?" he asks.
"Well, I am travelling on the 11am plane..."
OK, maybe I was wrong then, debates Yug. "Oh, well actually, my...my...son lives in India and he misses me. And that's why it is important for me to go and meet him... and he is only 3 years old." starts off Yug, using his fake story.
Why am I not ready to believe his story? wonders Ravjot. He looks so young to be a dad, doesn't he? questions Ravjot as she takes another good look at him but then again, I could be wrong. You never know.
"Oh, that is terrible..." says Ravjot.
"I really need the 11am ticket to go to India, so can you help me in any way?" Yug asks, hopefull that this beautiful girl that was standing beside him would help him. His story was convincing enough, wasn't it?
Ravjot was still not ready to believe that the guy, who she had just complimented of being her age was a father.
"Er, I hope you get someone to switch tickets with." then, replies Ravjot.
Yug's jaw dropped. She was not helping him? God! There goes his promise of reaching India on time. Yug's hopefull face turns gloomy and sad. Ravjot, who despite being a hard core practical woman was not up with seeing anyone sad or gloomy and still debated against her mind, if she should really give away her ticket to Yug.
Should I? Should I not? What will Meera think if I give the ticket away? Ofcourse she will side with my decisson because I helped someone but then again, she needs my help. She will be heartbroken if I don't reach there on time...What shall I do? debates Ravjot with her own brain.
Yug turns his back towards Ravjot is is about to walk out of the airport, when suddenly a woman comes to give him her ticket.
"Excause me, here is my ticket. I just noticed I had to go back to work, so there is my vacation cancelled. I hope that you are able to attend your Dog's Funeral." says the woman as she hands Yug her tickets. Yug keeps on staring at Ravjot who has her jaw dropped wide open. The guy was such a liar. Ravjot had debated over giving him her ticket just to see that he came out to be a liar?
Ravjot's face is blank at first, and then slowly turns red with anger and disgust. Yug keeps on staring at Ravjot, his eyes wide open, shocked. Ravjot crunches her teeth together, trying to hold back her anger. Yug glups. He had never expected his first meeting with a girl like Ravjot to have an abrupt ending like this. Never. Ravjot, walks away to the ticket counter, without saying another word. There, after all the check-in was done, the security checks were over, Ravjot makes her way to the Business class seats. Seat # C 1. Ravjot takes her window seat and stares right out the window at the clear sky. Just then, someone comes and sits beside her, she turns around to look at him and he looks back at her. She finds the same 'Liar' sitting beside her, and not noticing at first, she turns her head back towards the window and then in a second, she turns it back towards him, and this time, her face filled with horror.
Him??Dont' tell me that I have to put up with him through out my ride to India, do I? Ravjot questions herself.
"Urgh! What kind of justice is this God? Torture for 16 hours? Can it be worst then this?" asks Yug to himself.

"Oh, I shall call Ramu and tell him to get the Mercedes ready for Ravjot." says Meera to herself.
Meera had been planning Ravjot's welcome ever since Ravjot had called her and told her that she was coming. Meera had cleaned up her closet as she made way for Ravjot's clothes and accessories. Meera wanted everything to be like the old days. Meera had also brought in some of Ravjot and Meera's old toys and pictures that they would eventually talk about once Ravjot came home.
"Phone...phone, where is my phone?" retarts Meera to herself as she continued to check her drawers for her Blackberry Pearl.
"There it is!" says Meera as she takes the cellphone out of her handbag. Meera quickly dials the number to Ramu Driver's Work Cellphone that her dad had provided him with since he was Meera's personal driver.
"Hello?" says Meera, right into the phone without even asking if the person she was calling was Ramu.
Prem checks his iPhone to see that a local number was shining on his screen. Taking a break from his laptop work, he talks with the person on the other end of the line.
"Hello?" he replies back.
"Acha soono, Ravjot is coming to India tomorrow..." says Meera but she is suddenly cut off with Prem that is on the other end of the line.
"Excause me? Ravjot?" questions a confused Prem to Meera.
"Haan! Meri dost." replies Meera.
"Aapki dost? I don't know her..." says Prem, trying to argue.
"Uffo! Don't you remember? She played in your lap! Remember? Me and her, we played on your lap when we were little? Lagta hai, as you are aging you are becoming more forgetfull." replies Meera, unknown the person on the other end.
"Lap? Play? Excause me mam, but I think you are mistaken..." argues Prem.
"Bas Ramu!" says Meera, this time, getting a little angry. "Just listen to me OK? Ravjot is coming to India tomorrow and I want you to be ready with her Mercedes OK and pick me up while on your way to the airport." says Meera.
"Excause me mam but I am not Ramu but Industrialist Prem Juneja and who are you to call me like this? I think you have dialed the wrong number, so it would be better if you could hang up right now and let me work!" replies a tired and angry Prem.
A shocked Meera has no more words to say. Prem? She had called Prem? But how? Embarrassed, she looks at the number she had dialed and it was Prem's.
"Prem...aap?" replies Meera, more calm but yet embarrassed.
Prem stops fuming and recognizes this voice. "Meera?" he states rather then questioning.
"Haan. I am sooo sorry. I accidentely dialed your number. I am really sorry." pleads Meera.
"Oh, I am sorry as well. I shouldn't have been angry..." replies an embarrassed Prem.
"Erm, sorry about that...I thought I had called Ramu Kaka, our driver. Actually a friend of mine is coming to India tomorrow for our..." Meera sighed..."wedding and I wanted him to pick me up so I can recieve her at the airport...." answers Meera, without even listening to Prem's question.
"Oh, that's OK. Er, why don't I pick you up for the airport tomorrow?" offers Prem.
"No no, that's fine. I will manage plus I am sure you would have work to do..." answers Meera.
"You don't understand. My friend is coming to India tomorrow as well, so I can pick you up for the airport, no problem and just like that, I would be able to meet her and you can meet my friend and we all can grab a coffee or something." explains Meera.
"Yea, that would be great." replies Meera, suddenly happy.
"OK, I will pick you up tomorrow then." replies Prem, glad that Meera had called, even if it was underneath a misunderstanding.
