Hugh Grant pays 250 000 to dine with Mikhail Gorbachev
The British actor Hugh Grant has paid 250 000 for dinner with the former Soviet president Mikhail Gorbachev, the Echo of Moscow reports with reference to Gorbachev's words.
The dinner with Mikhail Gorbachev was one of the lots at the charity auction held in London spring of 2008 by the Raisa Gorbacheva fund. The money raised by the auction will be used to help children with Leukemia.
The opening price of the dinner with Gorbachev was set at 50 000, though then it grew up to 500 000. Two people – Hugh Grant and a businessman – paid for the extraordinary opportunity to dine with one of the soviet leaders in equal shares
